This bug is especially annoying when using VPN connections, as the
second user logged in simply can not start VPN connections configured
via nm-applet.

[Bug 773918] [NEW] WiFi is not working with acpi

2011-04-30 Thread AlexWinner
Public bug reported:

I have a Lenovo Ideapad u350 (Celeron 743 - 1,3 GHz, Intel GMA4500).
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 with 2.6.39-020639rc4-generic (because of bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/652724 I can't use stable
ubuntu kernel).
When I boot with acpi=off wifi is working and at rfkill list show this:
0: i2400m-usb:2-5:1.0: WiMAX
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
Without acpi doesn't work battery indicator, i can't shutdown laptop without
pressing power button, etc.

When i boot with acpi=on WiFi doesn't work. When i try to do 'sudo ifconfig
wlan0 up' it says:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-kill
rfkill list says:
0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
1: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
2: i2400m-usb:2-5:1.0: WiMAX
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
3: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: yes

After 'rfkill unblock all' it says:
0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
1: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
2: i2400m-usb:2-5:1.0: WiMAX
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
3: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes
WiFi doesn't work again.
rmmod ideapad-laptop doesn't help.
