[Bug 1049466] Re: Need support of Ralink RT3290 wifi support

2016-05-14 Thread Alexandre Magno
Høst, maybe the manufacturer needs to talk with the Ubuntu team, give
them sufficient information about their hardware! Note that Dell
notebooks are very much compatibles.

corrado venturini, try rebuild it.

My last message about it:

[Bug 1189721] Re: Ralink RT3290 doesn't have a bluetooth driver

2016-05-14 Thread Alexandre Magno
Gary Smith, no problems. I was trying to solve the issue for my brother,
and the notebook is no longer with us.

The code in my repository worked for us. But it needs be compiled for
each new kernel that is installed on machine, because it is not prepared
with dkms.

Months passed and I'm not able to send feedback. Sorry.

During this time my brother "gave" the HP notebook to our brother-in-
law. My brother bought a Dell. He lost the patience! He is a man very
busy and lives in another city. Our brother-in-law has not interest in
GNU/Linux.

I also have not time and am far from the research related to this issue.
Sorry.

Mihara, my brother has replaced the entire notebook because he also
wanted a device with support to pens. That notebook is full of issues
for him; same with Windows, the pen is without pressure and there is not
compatibility with market.

Ashesh, if you want GNU/Linux, migrate to Dell systems. It is the recipe
that works better! The competitor must suffer because of the lack of
attention it does not give to FOSS (free and open source software).

[Bug 1350973] Re: Support an UltraVNC function: "Toggle Remote Input and Remote Blank Monitor (On/Off)"

2014-08-01 Thread Alexandre Magno
See https://github.com/jwendell/gtk-vnc/issues/1

An other client don't resolves my problem because the UltraVNC's code
manages the requests per client, then only remains for me to add the
feature to gtk-vnc and vinagre, if I don't want to change the UltraVNC.

I am assuming it is in (from) this first block refered above. Beacuse the line

Considering this, it is especially important the line 5412:

Work around: with IRC accounts, you do not must "grant access" for the
Ubuntu. So you can use a same nick in distinct accounts. What matters
for the remote connection is the nick configured in the options "Empathy
Messenger" of each account config.

[Bug 1045870] Re: I cannot use more than one IRC online account at a time

2014-07-18 Thread Alexandre Magno
You can join channels with /join command from the net of active channel.
You can enter into channels with /join command. The net will be the same
from active channel.

You can open the Empathy's contact list and then Control+J for choose
net and channel to enter.

But really the Empathy is not supporting two accounts with same nick.
For now you can configure distinct nicks for distinct accounts and after
of connected then use the commands /nick and /msg Nickserv IDENTIFY
.

[Bug 1072403] Re: [GeForce 8600M GT] Unity and GnomeShell hang or crash with nouveau kernel error messages "fail ttm_validate", "validate vram_list" and "validate: -12"

2013-07-05 Thread Alexandre Magno
Hello!

Someone on IRC reported me the bellow:

The RAM fails when the machine comes back from suspend mode. The problem
is that the user don't command the suspend; the computer goes to sleep
alone after a few minutes without user action.

The user is using Ubuntu 13.4 (installed yesterday).

His VGA adapter: Intel Corporation C51 [GeForce Go 6150] (rev a2), in a
notebook HP pavilion DV9000.

I know that this bug report refers at GeForce 8600M GT, but the dmesg
output is very similar. Certainly that user is dealing with a «crash
with nouveau kernel error messages "fail ttm_validate", "validate
vram_list" and "validate: -12" Edit». See
http://paste.ubuntu.com/5848672/ for dmesg and lspci output please.

I don't know if I would must to create a new bug report...

Thank you for your attention.

Alexandre Magno

2013-06-28 Thread Alexandre Magno
Lian, the package of the proposed repository is OK. You can to make
"pinning" — https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PinningHowto:

1) sudo touch /etc/apt/preferences.d/lucid-proposed-100
2) sudo chmod 755 /etc/apt/preferences.d/lucid-proposed-100
3) Edit the file with this content:
Package: *
Pin: release a=precise-proposed
Pin-Priority: 100
4) Mark the "proposed" repository
   See this old picture:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu#Updates_Tab
   Read if prefer: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed
5) sudo apt-get update
6) Simulate: sudo apt-get upgrade -s
7) None? Then the "pinning" is OK.
8) sudo apt-get install lsb/precise-proposed

Boot machine and session's start with no error in lsb. But a error in
unity-greeter. Maybe it was before already. There was more than one
error in the session's start, before. I had stopped of looking the
"details" of those bugs.

Interestingly, the patch of the workground above (#62 and #61) had

2013-05-25 Thread Alexandre Magno
Really, the bug appeared after I installed TeamViewer 8 (www.teamviewer.com).
Then I did a facilitator patch workground based on comments above. Follows.

Download tvw_main.patch in /opt/teamviewer8/tv_bin/script/ dir and:

$ cd /opt/teamviewer8/tv_bin/script

# patch apply
$ sudo patch < tvw_main.patch
patching file tvw_main

# or undo patch
$ sudo patch -R < tvw_main.patch
patching file tvw_main

2013-05-18 Thread Alexandre Magno
I was with Ubuntu 12.04.2 updated. The problem occurred.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/themes
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install adwaita-cupertino-gtk-theme

It don't worked. So I did:

sudo ppa-purge ppa:webupd8team/themes

The light-themes package was regressed. So I did:

sudo apt-get upgrade

The light-themes package was updated. And there isn't bug now!
