[Bug 95503] Locale settings makes seahorse crash

2007-03-24 Thread Alexandre Rocha Lima e Marcondes
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: seahorse

I'm using pt-BR locale and the date format used on this locale is
dd/mm/ and en-US locale is mm/dd/ . When I try to set the
expiration date of a key using pt-BR locale (environment variable
LANGUAGE=pt_BR:pt:pt_PT) it does not set the key stating that there was
a general error, if I set LANGUAGE=en_US:en:en_GB it works as planned.

[Bug 72123] HAL crashes due to battery problem

2006-11-16 Thread Alexandre Rocha Lima e Marcondes
Public bug reported:

I have an Acer Aspire 3003LWCi and its battery got erratic. ACPI does
not recognizes battery status anymore:

$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/info
present: yes
design capacity: 2000 mAh
last full capacity:  65010 mAh
battery technology:  rechargeable
design voltage:  14400 mV
design capacity warning: 200 mAh
design capacity low: 2600 mAh
capacity granularity 1:  32 mAh
capacity granularity 2:  32 mAh
model number:11ZL
serial number:   120
battery type:LION
OEM info:SIMPLO

$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state
present: yes
ERROR: Unable to read battery status

And kernel throws this error on /var/log/kern.log:

Nov 17 01:03:18 localhost kernel: [17185034.588000] ACPI Exception
(acpi_battery-0218): AE_SUPPORT, Extracting _BST [20060707]

Every time I get logged in Gnome HAL crashes (I supose that the battery
is the problem, for if I remove it HAL works perfectly well) right on
start.

HAL should not crash but instead report a faulty battery.

is not leading to random mouse movements and sometimes random text
selection. It is really annoying.

[Bug 18180] Re: vmware and hibernation don't play nicely together

2006-09-16 Thread Alexandre Rocha Lima e Marcondes
This is a problem that seems to appear on latest vmware-player ubuntu
package. I use it every day and everytime I suspend my laptop I have to
close vmware-player and do:

$ sudo /etc/ini.t/vmware-player restart

Only then I can start vmware-player again and have working network on
it.

[Bug 55518] Re: SMB printer does not work

2006-09-15 Thread Alexandre Rocha Lima e Marcondes
I had a problem with these characteristics today and the solution was to
open /etc/cups/printers.conf and rename the printer from LaserJet-1300
to HP-1300 . I found out that the most updated version of Dapper samba
packages do not share if the printer is named LaserJet-* . Don't know
why it does this but it seems to be anasty bug.
