[Bug 1316265] Re: Maximized Window's Title Bar Does Not Merge into Menu Bar after Performing Super+W (window spread) filtering
Comments #7 and #9 are describing a different bug related to using keyboard on window spread: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1386714 This bug occurs for me when I disabled and re-enabled window spread in Unity Tweak Tool. I could solve the problem in a strange way: 1. selected Restore Settings of window spread on Unity Tweak Tool; 2. disabled and re-enabled the window spread on Unity Tweak Tool; Suddenly Ubuntu Unity Plugin got disabled and I lost window decorations and indicators. 3. I opened a Terminal, enter `ccsm` to open CompizConfig Settings Manager; 4. noticed "Gnome Compatibility" and "Window Decorations" are enabled, both of which conflict with Unity Plugin; 5. enabled Unity Plugin and resolve conflicts with those two. Now I can use window spread without problem except the type-to-search which I've described in lp: 1386714. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316265 Title: Maximized Window's Title Bar Does Not Merge into Menu Bar after Performing Super+W (window spread) filtering To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1316265/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1316265 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316265 This is NOT a duplicate of bug #1316265. This is different and ONLY occurs when you search for a window by TYPING. You will see the maximized window is expanded horizontally and vertically, but there are two title bars i.e. the window keeps its title bar separate from the top indicator bar even after maximization. [Bug 1074426] Re: custom Keyboard shortcuts reset every time Ubuntu updates
Hey guys, I just found something that may help to solve the issue. I’m sorry for I should explain everything. As you know it’s possible to change shortcuts keys from Dconf Editor, CCSM, and also Unity Tweak Tool. Well, I’d tried both Dconf Editor and CCSM, but the problem still existed. So I tried Unity Tweak Tool, and yeah they does NOT change anymore. But the problem here is that Unity Tweak Tool doesn’t have all the shortcuts. So it seems the way the shortcuts are stored on home folder raises the problem. Every time I changed the shortcuts, logout process would take more than 2 minutes afterwards. Some time later, my Ubuntu Unity Plugin got disabled by accident**. I just logged in and found it disabled. I had a blank desktop with wallpaper: no menu, no launcher. I opened CCSM and enabled the Unity Plugin. There were SOME CONFLICTS, the most important one for Show Desktop between Unity Plugin and General Options. I chose DISABLE for all. Wonderful! Both problems are solved now: I have my shortcuts UNCHANGED after more than 10 reboots and some hard shutdowns due to power failure. Also the logout process is fast as always. I conclude the problem is originated from the conflicts between (GNOME?) General Options and Unity Plugin which both have settings to change keyboard shortcuts. . ** Not totally by accident. When logout process took long, I would kill X-server just by Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. The last time I didn’t kill X and waited, and opened DASH during the logout process! [Bug 1291365] Re: gnome screensaver locks again shortly after unlocking
I tried some different conditions with Screen Turn-off time-out and Lock settings, and I found the problem is not for the lock delay time, but for screen turn-off. When you manually lock the screen and thescreen turn-off time-out passed, you will get the blank screen after unlocking; because the Unity lock screen has prevented the screen to go blank. [Bug 1148033] Re: GDBus.Error:org.openobex:Error.Failed: Unable to request session
I can do something now that I’ve never tried before. I can “browse the files” on the phone by copying the device address (for example 00:25:E7:B1:53:3E) and type in Files (Nautilus): obex://[00:25:E7:B1:53:3E]/ After then, the phone is mounted like a USB drive and it’s possible to copy from or paste in it. Still the Send To function doesn’t work. But where I have the device address? From Bluetooth Settings after pairing the device. I went further! When mounted, instead of Send To, I selected Copy To, went to File System (/), pressed Ctrl+L and typed the above-mentioned device address. This time the file was sent to the phone just like the Send To command. The difference here is that the phone never asks to allow connection. [Bug 1145737] [NEW] shutdown process slows down when connected to a network
Public bug reported: In 12.10 and 13.04 in which remote login is available, the shutdown process slows down when connected to a network, whether through LAN or Wi-Fi. For example, my slow netbook shuts down with 13.04 in 2-3 seconds when not connected to a network, but when connected it takes 12-13 seconds. Pressing Esc on quite splash I could see "modem-manager" takes more than 1 second to end the processes, so I fully removed the package and the config file (/etc/init/modemmanager.conf) to check the result. No change. Since modem-manager is dependent on network-manager and stops when network-manager stops, the problem should be with network-manager itself. You’re absolutely right about solution and workaround. Account this for my weak English. Moreover, I must add about “system tray icon” that no icons will be displayed in 12.04 menu, but you won’t need to quit it. I myself did’t set it as startup, just since I’ve enabled tray icon which changed nothing in appearance, I don’t need to quit anymore; however sometimes I need to relaunch (without quitting). [Bug 879950] Re: pidgin not showing up
Hi guys, Do you still have the problem with Pidgin? I think I’ve found the solution; it’s simple: Go to Pidgin Preferences -> Interface -> System Tray Icon, and choose ALWAYS for “Show system tray icon”. Now if you can set Pidgin as a startup application, there will be no problem with opening the buddy list. In this situation, I recommend you to UNCHECK “Use status from last exit at startup” in Preferences -> Status/Idle and preferably set it to offline. (If you don’t set Pidgin as a startup application, you should click on the icon once to start the application – which shows a triangle beside the icon in the messaging menu – and click again to open the window.) [Bug 914087] [NEW] Problem with "browse files" in Bluetooth menu
Public bug reported: I pair my phone with my notebook, but can't browse files on the phone; however, I can send files to it. When I select "browse files", the connection is made, but after some seconds, it's lost. The name of my phone appears in Nautilus, but if I click on it, an error is displayed: “Could not display "obex://[PHONE CODE]/". Error: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Eror.NoReply:Message did not recieve a reply (timeout by message bus) Please select another viewer and try again.” Sometimes, the bluetooth icon in menu is dissapeared after then. In addition, the Ubuntu bluetooth is "visible", but no device can find it. Additional info: I Have such problem with Ubuntu 11.10 (not with Ubuntu 11.04 before upgrading). My notebook is Asus 1005PG and my phone is Sony Ericsson C902. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/914087 Title: Problem with "browse files" in Bluetooth menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/914087/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
