[Bug 548992] Re: Wireless connection frequently drops [deauthenticating by local choice (reason=3)]
Hello, Apparently this old bug still exists. I recently installed Debian (5.0.4) Lenny on my AMD 64 bit computer. The kernel is 2.6.26-2-AMD6. I am having a lot of trouble with the wireless network going down and sometimes the applications start up very slowly and are unresponsive. I removed network-manager, as suggested on another post. This greatly improved performance but the problem hasn't gone away. I discovered that I could make the network go down by trying to install Amarok with the Synaptic Package Manager. The following is dmesg showing (1) the situation while in a normal run mode, (2) the line produced when the network went down during the Synaptic session and then (3) what it looks like after recovery by ifdown and ifup. [Bug 584756] Re: No support for HP LaserJet 4P after upgrade to lucid
No, I think everything is OK. It would be nice if paraport_pc were added to the Ubuntu distribution so new users wouldn't have to hunt this fix down. Thanks very much for your support. [Bug 586067] [NEW] thunderbird hangs on opening a file in Local Folders
Public bug reported: System: Thunderbird 3.04 on Kubuntu 10.04 on 64 bit SMP Monarch. When I try to open a file in the Local Folders Thunderbird just hangs with the time cursor just spinning. Node names show up OK but can't open any of the files. It first did this when the mail files were on a Buffalo storage unit, but it still happens even after I copied the files from the Buffalo to the local disk and I reset the local directory path the the local disk location. Normal mail down load, etc. all work well. I was able to open files in the designated Local Folder in Thunderbird in Kubuntu 8.04, Windows XP, and earlier versions of Kubuntu. I have many old e-mail files that I need to access so this version of Kubuntu is not of much use to me if this bug can't be fixed. Re: [Bug 584756] Re: No support for HP LaserJet 4P after upgrade to lucid
That command doesn't run, but was able to get the printer recognized by adding paraport_pc to /etc/modules.
