[Bug 1257338] Re: [Acer Aspire E1-572] Freezes at shutdown screen when attempting to shutdown
The above patch queued for 3.13 in for-linus branch from Bjorn Helgaas https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/helgaas/pci.git/commit/?h=for-linus&id=4fc9bbf98fd66f879e628d8537ba7c240be2b58e @Tarpoon: is not upstream yet, but you can git cherry-pick, or manual apply, etc. [quote] PCI: Disable Bus Master only on kexec reboot Add a flag to tell the PCI subsystem that kernel is shutting down in preparation to kexec a kernel. Add code in PCI subsystem to use this flag to clear Bus Master bit on PCI devices only in case of kexec reboot. This fixes a power-off problem on Acer Aspire V5-573G and likely other machines and avoids any other issues caused by clearing Bus Master bit on PCI devices in normal shutdown path. The problem was introduced by b566a22c2332 ("PCI: disable Bus Master on PCI device shutdown"). [Bug 1212199] Re: Network not working after resume from suspend (r8169)
@ Comment #19: I can not reproduce that behavior (in comment #12). I can reproduce this: restart, from LightDM login, click on suspend, resume works. This is with kernel 3.2 (log attached) and the latest kernel. If I log on and suspend, then resume, now the desktop is not responding any more. Of course Alt+SysRQ+REISUB works. ** Attachment added: "Log after resume kernel 3.2" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1212199/+attachment/3778428/+files/dmesg_kernel_3.2.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1212199 Title: Network not working after resume from suspend (r8169) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1212199/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1212199] Re: Network not working after resume from suspend (r8169)
I can not exclude the crappy quality of the mainboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130095 (click on feedback tab) I get mixed results. I shut down my PC over night. Then in the morning it might work to suspend. And some times it is not connecting from the start. (I need to go to menu and click Enable Networking (actually disable it), then again to have it working (observed this very few times over the last years)) And from the last few days of testing: After a number of hours working I experience the behavior presented in the screenshot at post #9. With this "feature": restart from menu: click on it and nothing happens. But it works from command line: "sudo reboot". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1212199 Title: Network not working after resume from suspend (r8169) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1212199/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1082314] Re: Raring wake up from S3 broken
I am running the stock raring ringtail, and after I noticed that upgrade to libwayland0 version 1.0.2 and something, I decided to: sudo apt-install weston but nothing hapened. Quote: "There hasn't been much in the way of X changes in raring so far;" I can confirm that the shape of the startup messages from kernel are changed. I khow how they are before, and I can allays compare with my precise install. I will repeat: this is NOT a kernel regression. 3.7-rc4 and 3.5 were both working before some userspace updates. After that, I tested both 3.7-rc4 and 3.5, I get an black screen.
