[Bug 1824874] Re: undismissable, unclickable authentication dialog left on screen (top-left corner) after policykit authentication [pushModal: invocation of begin_modal failed]
How do I figure out which application tripped the policy and then resulted in the dialog? In my case the unclickable dialog happens on my Desktop PC booting into my Ubuntu 20.04. No VM, no remote connection, no xRPD involved, no new software installed, no torrents, and downloaded nothing. I have several virtual networks created by docker, but this setup worked for years until a few days ago. The only change was that I added a new SSD to the system on top of existing ones, formatted to ext4, but it's not even in fstab yet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1824874 Title: undismissable, unclickable authentication dialog left on screen (top- left corner) after policykit authentication [pushModal: invocation of begin_modal failed] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1824874/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1910115] [NEW] package runit 2.1.2-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: Dear Sirs! On the summer of 2010 I tried to install MS Visual Studio (linux) SDK (64bit) software and it faild with the ruit error. Sorry I have 32bit machine (dell latitude d410). From that time on every ubuntu 16.04 LTS update (if actually was something) then it stops with this error and asks for something new? setup. I start the setup window and look threw it without any change and close it. The update procss successfully finished, the OS got the updates and operates well without any symptomes, but on the next updates everything repeats once again, in the end operating well. [Bug 1803807] Re: Lock screen doesn't work in 18.10
This is after locking the screen once. I opened the top right menu after locking the screen, and then opened the keyboard menu to the left of it. Both stay up, and can no longer be interacted with. [Bug 1803807] Re: Lock screen doesn't work in 18.10
Thanks for your response. Sorry for not seeing the existing bug reports. When I lock once, the ui freezes completely and is still visible. However, on the top bar (sorry, not sure what the specific terms are), the "Activities" button, any open application indicators (the things with the icons and the application name in the top bar), and the date/time disappear, but the keyboard language indicator and other indicators on the top right remain visible. It is still possible to click on the keyboard indicator or top right menu to bring them up, but at that point they can no longer be interacted with. The top right menu does show a pause button instead of the settings/lock/power button. Pressing lock a second time locks the screen as normal. This morning, I tried locking the screen by pressing the button itself instead of using the keyboard shortcut, and that worked the first time, but displayed the behavior described above the second time. I only have gnome-tweaks installed that I know of (for disabling mouse acceleration). In the extensions tab, both items (kstatusnotifieritem and ubuntu dock) were disabled. Please let me know if I can provide any more information to help resolve this, or if this was unclear. I would attach pictures, but PrtSc doesn't do anything after pressing lock the first time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1803807 Title: Lock screen doesn't work in 18.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1803807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Updated from linux-image-3.13.0-63-lowlatency to linux-image-3.13.0-65-lowlatency and at the following boot login failed and row-res mode appeared. [Bug 883459]
Tobias Leopold, you are probably right of being a timing issue. If you can reproduce it, and could work on the code, the chances of fixing it would be high(er). As I pointed out already, I use POP3 and IMAP with local filters on two machines and didn't see this problem for a long time, so best would be to fix on a machine where it actually manifests it. It was a long time ago when I last worked on Akonadi/KMail code, but here are some hints: - add debug output (possibly with timestamps) in the filtering and the akonadi code. You might have to do that both in the akonadi server and the akonadi resources (filter agent and the base classes) - the filter agent is in kdepim/mailfilteragent, the starting point could be mailfilteragent.cpp and there the itemAdded() method. This is called when a new mail appeares in a monitored folder (ie. the inbox) - itemsReceiviedForFiltering() there is called when the filter agent retrieves the above item (so it can analyze that it needs to be filtered or not) - interesting code could be also in Akonadi::AgentBase class (kdepimlibs repository) and the changeRecorder() part, but only if you can't figure out anything useful from the above - mailfilteragent/filtermanager.cpp is the code that does the filtering. processContextItem() is the method that does the move/copy of the messages. Adding debug output here also makes sense to see when does this happen - for the server itself you can enable debugging in the akonadiconsole app, although this will give you lots of data and will make things slow, so better make sure you don't get lot of mails while debugging is enabled. But it can show all the communication between the akonadi server and the clients and all the jobs running and their order. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/883459 Title: KMail duplicates emails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdepim/+bug/883459/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1381475] Re: Firewire sound card registered by the name of the fw controller
which name do you want when you plug and unplug the device ? Based on how other cards are named (see previous attachment Firewire sound card listed in Sound Settings) there sould be a short description of the output, followed by the short name of the card. For example: 10 Channels * PHASE 88 ** * Please note that the 10 output channels are, in this case, 8 Analog and 2 Digital (the same applies to Input channels). As far as I can see, normally the 8 Channels Analog Output and the Digital Output (S/PDIF) would be displayed as two separate options in Sound Settings - I guess this is beyond the scope of the current issue and I shall file a new bug. ** or PHASE 88 Rack FW -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1381475 Title: Firewire sound card registered by the name of the fw controller To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1381475/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1308628] Re: xhci-hda does not support isochronous streaming on usb 2.0 devices
Same problem here with Intel D54250WYK NUC box + Audiolab M-DAC which uses async USB connection for 24/96 audio. It seems that the problem only occurs with Intel USB3 controllers. Unfortunately the internal USB2.0 headers in my NUC are controlled by the same USB3.0 controller, and there is no option in the BIOS to disable the XHCI (USB3) mode. I have indicated the problem towards Intel: https://communities.intel.com/message/255474#255474 Here is a discussion regarding the Linux xhci_hcd isochronous problem: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-usb/msg107264.html Last mail on 8 May 2014: This does seem to point to an incompatibility between the driver and the Intel xHCI hardware. [Bug 1327628] [NEW] Incorrect Package Recommendation for Xen on 14.04
Public bug reported: The ganeti package (as of 2.10.5-1~trusty+1) recommends qemu-kvm, xen- linux-system-amd64 or xen-linux-system-686-pae on 14.04. Since the Xen meta-package has been renamed to xen-system-amd64 (no i386 version any more), this results in qemu-kvm being installed even on Xen-based setups.
