[Bug 1016291] Re: gimp-message outputs "script-fu-Warning" when it's not necessarily a warning
Thank you for the reply, Thomas. I'm attaching two test scripts. (None of them is perfect as I am not very good at Gimp scripts.) I made the tests with Gimp 2.8. First one (message-TEST-registered.scm) registers the script with script-fu so that it can be run from the Filters menu as "Message Test". I recommend you run it with the following command: gimp -b '(script-fu-message-test)' The result is a popup titled "Gimp Message", which is quite good, the icon however is a "sad face". Alternatively, you can just start Gimp and run the script from the Filters menu: The result is an exclamation mark in the status bar, plus the message "Hello World". The above results don't have the word "Warning" any more, but still have the icons that refer to a warning (sad face or exclamation mark). The second script (message-test-TEST-raw.scm) contains only a gimp-message command and will run immediately when Gimp is started. I recommend that you start Gimp from the command line with "gimp". The result is a message on the console: "script-fu-Warning: Hello World". My point is that any reference to a problem situation (sad face, exclamation mark, or the text"Warning) is unnecessary and shall be replaced (maybe with an "i" for info icon, and respecively with the text "script-fu-Message") as a gimp-message command does not necessarily indicate a warning. Thanks for taking a look! ** Attachment added: "Gimp script to test the gimp-message command (registered version)" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/1016291/+attachment/3850870/+files/message-TEST-registered.scm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1016291 Title: gimp-message outputs "script-fu-Warning" when it's not necessarily a warning To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/1016291/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 605773] Re: Wrong kernel setting zone_reclaim_mode leads to performance problems
I think this mostly depends on what "cat /proc/sys/vm/zone_reclaim_mode" is set to by default on Ubuntu 12.04 ... If you have it at 1, then you should be able to reproduce it ... at least in theory ... because possible changes to the kernel might have already changed the behavior too. Here we have added it to our standard installation procedure, to always and explicitly set cat "zone_reclaim_mode=0". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/605773 Title: Wrong kernel setting zone_reclaim_mode leads to performance problems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/605773/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 605773] Re: Wrong kernel setting zone_reclaim_mode leads to performance problems
Well, I have tried apport-cli, but that tool crashed with some ominous "IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/proc/asound/cards'" (which is in no way related to this bug). Also it asks lots of questions which I could have easily answered 3 years ago, but now need to research again ... To be honest, I have no big motivation to pick up the investigation of an issue which is 3 years old, and I have not thought about nor worked on for almost the same amount of time. Especially as we have only a few Ubuntu 10.04 servers left, which are phased out and - mostly - being replaced with 12.04 systems. [Bug 605773] Re: Wrong kernel setting zone_reclaim_mode leads to performance problems
Hi, Well, the problem was "solved" with the described workaround (setting "zone_reclaim_mode = 0" manually). Since then, we never again had this issue. To be honest I was even surprised to see new activity on this issues (as I have reported it over 3 years ago :-) ) and really had to read it before remembering what was going on at all. The affected servers are still in use, but usually they have no real maintenance windows (in the classic sense), neither do we have time and resources to experiment with different kernel versions on them. Neither do I see a way to sanely run apport-collect, as the server has no X, and the text gui is really hard to work with (for example I didn't find a way to supply the necessary email address ... etc.) Andras Fabian -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/605773 Title: Wrong kernel setting zone_reclaim_mode leads to performance problems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/605773/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Neil, I don't know why that "Network Settings applet" wouldn't set the http_proxy environment variable, but: a PAC file should be run for each url, because you can have different proxies for each and one of them the http_proxy variable can not handle this, it's used for "one proxy-rules-all" setups In my opininon the two things are not compatible, http_proxy and it's kind is not able to handle your exceptions from your PAC. Git commit 37515fa641381b1357f26b0372f69bf9300dc10f by Andras Mantia. Committed on 18/10/2012 at 22:53. Pushed by amantia into branch 'KDE/4.9'. Backport of the filter pipeline refactoring fix, that should fix the duplication of mails when it goes through several filter that move and modify the mail. [Bug 883459]
Which one gets duplicated, the spam (Donación de la Hermana Alice Jahab) or the mail sent to @kde.org ([Bug 283548] Only first filter in chain works for incoming messages)? I see the second (the kde.org mail) is deleted from inbox, so i guess that's not the problematic one. The spam is more interesting. Can you paste the two filters that go through it from the akonadi_mailfiter_agentrc? These ones: [11:48:19] Evaluerer filterregler: (match all of the following) "" "0" [11:48:19] 1 = "" "0" ( 14414 ) [11:48:19] Filterregler er blevet matchet. [11:48:19] Applying filter action: Pipe Through "bogofilter -p -e" [11:48:28] Evaluerer filterregler: (match any of the following) "X-Bogosity" "(yes)|(spam\b)" [11:48:28] 1 = "X-Bogosity" "(yes)|(spam\b)" (Spam, tests=bogofilter, spamicity=1.00, version=1.2.2) What should happen here is: - mail is moved from IMAP inbox to local folder - mail is marked as spam and read (in the local folder) >From the IMAP log though what happens is: - the mail is appended again to the inbox immediately after it is fetched and marked as spam and read (\Seen $JUNK) - the original mail is deleted (two times!) Seems like the filter actions are executed in wrong order, resulting in code duplication. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdepim in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/883459 Title: KMail duplicates emails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdepim/+bug/883459/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

Is the subdir a subirectory of inbox or a different subdirectory? Just to double check, is it maildir or mixedmaildir account? Can you check that after the move (but before refresh), is the mail still physically on the disk in the inbox folder? You can check the location in the account settings, and locate the mail file e.g with a search in content on the file system.

Can anybody reproduce the problem with KDE 4.9.2 (and preferably Akonadi 1.8.1)? If yes, what kind of account does the filter run on (maildir, mixedmaildir, mbox, imap - if imap, online or disconnected)? [Bug 1021643] [NEW] Can't install anything, also do-release-upgrade does not work
Public bug reported: I think, in an openVz container kernel, kernel modules, boot loader, direct device access and similar stuff is both pointless and not needed, because these are all handled by the hardware node. Problem is, dpkg wants to install linux-image, initramfs-tools, initscripts and also would like to write /lib/modules, which is not writeable for OSes in an openVz container. How can I tell it to: - completely ignore these packages - never try to write to /lib/modules or if it tryes it should not fail because of it Here are some outputs: root@trac:~# uname -a Linux trac 2.6.32-openvz-053.5-h1 #2 SMP Mon Jun 11 09:52:55 CEST 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux root@trac:~# root@trac:~# ls -laph /lib/modules/ total 44K drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 4.0K 2012-06-11 09:55 ./ drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 12K 2012-07-04 18:51 ../ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K 2012-03-06 18:46 2.6.32-openvz-049.6/ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K 2012-03-09 14:23 2.6.32-openvz-049.6-i1/ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K 2012-04-27 11:33 2.6.32-openvz-049.6-i2/ drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4.0K 2012-05-29 11:10 2.6.32-openvz-049.6-i3/ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K 2012-05-30 10:55 2.6.32-openvz-049.6-y1/ drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4.0K 2012-05-30 11:42 2.6.32-openvz-053.5/ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K 2012-06-11 09:55 2.6.32-openvz-053.5-h1/ root@trac:~# root@trac:~# dpkg -l | grep -i linux-image rc linux-image-2.6.32-28-generic2.6.32-28.55 Linux kernel image for version 2.6.32 on x86 ii linux-image-2.6.32-29-virtual2.6.32-29.58 Linux kernel image for version 2.6.32 on x86 iH linux-image-2.6.32-37-virtual2.6.32-37.81 Linux kernel image for version 2.6.32 on x86 iH linux-image-2.6.32-39-virtual2.6.32-39.86 Linux kernel image for version 2.6.32 on x86 root@trac:~# root@trac:~# lshw trac description: Computer width: 64 bits capabilities: vsyscall64 vsyscall32 *-core description: Motherboard physical id: 0 *-memory description: System memory physical id: 0 size: 2047MiB *-cpu product: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz vendor: Intel Corp. physical id: 1 bus info: cpu@0 width: 64 bits capabilities: fpu fpu_exception wp vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe syscall nx rdtscp x86-64 constant_tsc arch_perfmon pebs bts rep_good xtopology nons top_tsc aperfmperf pni dtes64 monitor ds_cpl vmx est tm2 ssse3 cx16 xtpr pdcm sse4_1 sse4_2 popcnt lahf_lm ida tpr_shado w vnmi flexpriority ept vpid *-scsi:0 physical id: 2 bus info: pci@:01:00.0 logical name: scsi0 *-disk:0 UNCLAIMED description: SCSI Disk product: ServeRAID M5014 vendor: IBM physical id: 2.0.0 bus info: scsi@0:2.0.0 version: 2.12 serial: 00a88136d8dc776b1750a01804b00506 configuration: ansiversion=5 *-disk:1 UNCLAIMED description: SCSI Disk product: ServeRAID M5014 vendor: IBM physical id: 2.1.0 bus info: scsi@0:2.1.0 version: 2.12 serial: 0013f9c2e4ae786b1750a01804b00506 configuration: ansiversion=5 *-disk:2 UNCLAIMED description: SCSI Disk product: ServeRAID M5014 vendor: IBM physical id: 2.2.0 bus info: scsi@0:2.2.0 version: 2.12 serial: 0091b18530482c6f1750a01804b00506 configuration: ansiversion=5 *-scsi:1 physical id: 3 bus info: pci@:04:00.1 logical name: scsi9 capabilities: emulated *-disk UNCLAIMED description: ATA Disk product: ST340014A vendor: Seagate physical id: 0.0.0 bus info: scsi@9:0.0.0 version: 8.10 serial: 5JXG7A47 configuration: ansiversion=5 root@trac:~# root@trac:~# lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Git commit e3a03f1d704838a9ced4ff41358785392774ae69 by Andras Mantia. Committed on 04/07/2012 at 17:35. Pushed by amantia into branch 'KDE/4.9'. (Backport filter fix from master) A biggish refactoring of the filter functionality: 1) Do not take the items from the cache only, as they might be incomplete (especially in online imap case, but not only). This should fix the body loss bug on spam filtering.(Bug 287752 and similar ones + countless of reports on user list) Might fix 293768. 2) Download only what is really needed for the filter and add safety checks that the mail is not modified if the requested part is missing. So far the distinction was only betwee the body and rest. This should speed up filtering. Also related to 287752, but should fix also 292283, 288109. 3) Rename qDebug->kDebug + fix some includes 4) The code should also fix the duplicate mails appearing after filtering (some of the duplicates with empty content), eg. 275233 All bug reporters: in case you still see the bug, reopen the corresponding one. For the reports that were CC'd, but not closed, please try to reproduce and tell the result. So far the bug is fixed on master, but might be backported later to 4.9. [Bug 1016291] [NEW] gimp-message outputs "script-fu-Warning" when it's not necessarily a warning
Public bug reported: When I use the command 'gimp-message' in a Gimp script, the output is started with"script-fu-Warning:". I think there is no reason to assume that the message is an actual warning. This behavior may be misleading or frightening for some people, especially if they are not so experienced with the computer. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create an .scm file with the following content: (gimp-message "test") 2. Run the newly created .scm file with Gimp. [Bug 877438] Re: Unity/compiz has sluggish performance on dual-head with nvidia driver
I got similar problems using single monitor configuration, just after upgraded my ATI card driver to the latest AMD propietary driver (12.2). Compiz used 50-80% of my CPU. Before I used AMD propietary driver (12.1) without experiencing this problem. So I consider this as a regression. My card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650. I just downgraded my AMD propietary driver back to version (12.1) and compiz CPU usage reduced to less than 10%, but usually between 0-2%. I'm not sure that my problem fit in this bug, since in the header it was mentioned that nvidia drivers & dual head have problem. But the symptoms are quite similar. Public bug reported: I installed Ubuntu 12.1 on my linux server. There were two ext3 partitions. In the old days, when I changed from ext2 to ext3, it could be done easily without changing any file on the drive. I thought it is the same situation in the latest Ubuntu installer, and I changed the partition type from ext3 to ext4, but the Format partition option was unchecked, not to erase the data. When started installing, Ubuntu formatted all the two partitions and erased all my last 14 years data without asking anything. I do not think this should be the normal behaviour. [Bug 919071] Re: Killing All Process Fail Modem Manager 826 when i restart or shut down my system
Same problem here. (Using Oneiric, 64 bit.) Actually the 3G modem is SWITCHED OFF by a HW switch. (If it is necessary I could check if this problem also happens if the HW swith is ON.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/919071 Title: Killing All Process Fail Modem Manager 826 when i restart or shut down my system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modemmanager/+bug/919071/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 873058] Re: Jockey fail to install binary ati driver (post release) version
I have the same situation as D. Hugh Redelmeier (except my Oneiric is updated from Natty) and I agree with Him in the followings :> Is your proposed fix to nvidia-common supposed to fix jockey's handling of installing proprietary AMD drivers (fglrx)? That seems rather counter-intuitive. I have a fresh AMD64 installation of Oneiric, plus all updates (but no -proposed). Jockey fails with the message "sorry installation of this driver failed" "please have a look at the log file for details: /var/log/jockey.log". I have no nVidia hardware. I attached my /var/log/jockey.log(the updated driver install failure part is from beginning UNTIL 2012-01-03 13:59:54,525) The most interesting part is probably the following:> 2012-01-03 13:54:36,907 WARNING: /sys/module/fglrx_updates/drivers does not exist, cannot rebind fglrx_updates driver 2012-01-03 13:54:37,041 ERROR: xorg:fglrx_updates: get_alternative_by_name(fglrx-updates) returned nothing ** Attachment added: "jockey.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-common/+bug/873058/+attachment/2655031/+files/jockey.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/873058 Title: Jockey fail to install binary ati driver (post release) version To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jockey/+bug/873058/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
