[Bug 1240686] Re: Upstart overrides the user's umask

2013-11-19 Thread Andreas Blochberger
Is there a workaround for saucy, since this bug makes it impossible to have a
shared subversion repository for different users. And we cant wait for trusty.
A global workaround, that also works in a KDE environment would be preffered

The bug is in the libreoffice-kde i guess. LibreOffice does not use the
KDE color setting for the hinttext but only for the background

[Bug 858973] Re: recorditnow doesn't stop 11.10

2011-11-01 Thread Andreas Blochberger
ffmpeg does not stop on "q"
Here is how recorditnow tries to stop ffmpeg:

void FfmpegRecorder::stop()
{
if (m_recorder) {
m_recorder->write("q\n");
m_paused = false;
}
}

Starting ffmpeg on a commanline, it does not recognize "q" as a signal
to stop, only ctrl-c works

[Bug 532633] Re: [light-theme] please revert the order of the window controls back to "menu:minimize, maximize, close"

2010-03-16 Thread Andreas Blochberger
The biggest issue with this left/right positioniong is consistency.
Other applications have already be mentioned. But there is also Ubuntu
Netbook Remix. When one maximizes a window, the close button is on the
right hand side again. That's very confusing.

So, if the controls are to remain on the left, then the UNR titlebar in
the panel has to be changed as well, to have its close button on the
left side (and maybe the unmaximize and minimize buttons should be
added, and the look should be adjusted to that of the theme).

[Bug 335811] Re: ImportError: No module named qt

2009-03-10 Thread Andreas Blochberger
I am sure i'm up to date. I do software updates twice a day, and this
last crash just happened yesterday. Currently KDE doesn't work at all,
so i'm trying it out after every update. Usually i only see that it does
not work (i can't start any application in KDE and i see a lot of
zombies in my process list), but yesterday apport reported this crash,
when i returned in gnome.

I was trying to apply the workaround for kde, but i always got the error
"Failed to activate desktop effects".
Here is what i did, to get this working:
1. Turn on "Enable desktop effects"
2. Switch to page "Advanced"
3. Turn off "Enable direct rendering"
4. Switch back to page "General"
5. "Enable desktop effects" is turned off, so turn on "Enable desktop effects"

6. Press "Apply"
