[Bug 832910] Re: rygel version 0.10.1-1 failed to build in oneiric
Rygel checks for max version of build dependencies like libsoup which has been tested for API compatibility so that people building old releases on top of newer API-incompatible libraries don't run into problems. The max version of libsoup has been bumped in the current development release of Rygel which is expected to be released as a new major stable update soon (0.12) Fixing this build failure should be as easy as bumping the max version in configure.ac and running autoreconf . -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/832910 Title: rygel version 0.10.1-1 failed to build in oneiric To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rygel/+bug/832910/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ok, so this basically means please sync from Debian . if anyone is interested in going through the administrative work to get that done (because I believe Ubuntu is currently in freeze?) then please do so, otherwise this version will show up in Ubuntu whenever the next release opens up for development. I'll make sure to get 0.8.0 into debian experimetal so you can easily sync it as soon as it's released. PS. This also needs syncing of gupnp, gupnp-av and gupnp-dlna from debian experimental as well (these are stable upstream bugfix releases just uploaded to experimental because of the debian freeze). Possibly you also want to sync gupnp-vala. Even though it's not strictly necessary it's probably a smart idea to keep the vala bindings synced with the gupnp libraries it binds to avoid issues. [Bug 299956] Re: Iso's don't mount correctly through 'archive mounter'
Hello John Baptist! Thanks for injecting some positive energy into this bug report. The previous comments has been really demotivating for me. I'd like to help clear up some confusion, which will hopefully help you out in your quest to find the problem ... * gvfs (and thus nautilus) uses libarchive, mount uses kernel built-in iso filesystem support, file-roller uses genisoimage (e.g. isoinfo). Completely separate implementations. Any problems they share or not are purely by chance. If you want a command-line frontend to libarchive for testing like you're doing with isoinfo for genisoimage, install bsdtar and look at the libarchive specific flags in the bsdtar manpage. * You're right the ;1 is a version appended to the filename in the image. Rock Ridge is not that common nowadays though. The Rock Ridge version numbering scheme, if you can call it that, is also used in Joliet Extension (which most isos have nowadays for long filenames which also works on MS Windows). * Unfortunately sometimes standard documents are a bit vague which results in different iso creating programs doing things differently, which means iso readers have to implement all cases. Upstream libarchive has a test-suite which also tests iso files and all (current) tests ofcourse passes. This means people who have problems need to report which program they used to generate the iso and provide a testcase so the testsuite can be expanded and libarchive support more ways of writing isos. Comments like This STILL doesn't work? are completely useless, because it works FOR ALL KNOWN testcases. Unless you (the bug reporter) know which program generated the iso you're having problems with and are able to provide a testcase, noone will be able to help out. * Please make sure you're testing with the latest libarchive version installed, currently 2.8.4-1 (available in maverick atleast). // Andreas Henriksson, debian maintainer of libarchive. -- Iso's don't mount correctly through 'archive mounter' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/299956 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 396949] Re: mounted cdrom doesn't display long filenames
The new upstream release including Joliet support (by your truly) is now packaged and maintained in Debian by me. The new release is API/ABI compatible. The only potential problem I can see is that a new build-dependency on liblzma-dev is added and I'm not certain about what status the xz-utils transition has in ubuntu. (If you'd rather sacrifice the lzma support in libarchive to avoid xz-utils problems, the build-dependency can temporarily simply be dropped!) [Bug 487745] Re: Adding IP address with scope link creates global address
I think this is a kernel bug. The scope seems to be passed into the kernel via netlink as specified on the command line. Looking at the kernel: inet6_rtm_newaddr [1] calls inet6_addr_add [2] without passing the ifa_scope struct member and then the scope is generated from the address within the inet6_addr_add function. [1]: http://lxr.linux.no/#linux+v2.6.31/net/ipv6/addrconf.c#L3263 [2]: http://lxr.linux.no/#linux+v2.6.31/net/ipv6/addrconf.c#L2081 (compare the ipv4 equivalent inet_addr_add and see that it picks up the ifa_scope from the rtnetlink message. Could you please be less vague? Are you aware the default configuration has changed to Mac touchpad behaviour? Are you aware Mac touch scrolling doesn't have a dedicated area but instead use the 2 fingers method? Doesn't really matter either way. No one configuration is going to suit everybody. Your fdi file is the perfect solution for you, thanks for sharing it so other people can use it who are in your situation. What changed is Xorg. Ubuntu didn't ship any configuration (fdi) so whatever was used was the defaults in the Xorg binary. (That's a way simplified description. Alot more changed. [Bug 267420] Re: gvfsd-archive crashed with SIGSEGV in __archive_check_magic()
This segfault is the internal consistency checker being triggered. [Bug 285397] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in IA__g_hash_table_lookup()
Just reproduced it by loading archive from ~/.gvfs/sftp on fatal.se/ (root folder of the remote computer). I don't think the backtrace is all that useful, there's already a NULL pointer passed into the hash function as key in the previous report visible which is probably why things blow up there. Additionally there are several assertion failures before the crash, so I'm guessing there's memory corruption and the particular backtrace is just a symptom of that I'll try to fish out the new backtrace with debugging symbols and attach it as soon as I figure out how the ubuntu bug reporting tools work ~$ rhythmbox (rhythmbox:21326): Gtk-WARNING **: AudioCdSourcePopupCopyCd: missing action MusicAudioCDDuplicate (rhythmbox:21326): Gtk-WARNING **: AudioCdSourcePopupCopyCd: missing action MusicAudioCDDuplicate (rhythmbox:21326): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_file_info_get_name: assertion `G_IS_FILE_INFO (info)' failed (rhythmbox:21326): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_file_get_child: assertion `name != NULL' failed (rhythmbox:21326): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_file_get_uri: assertion `G_IS_FILE (file)' failed Segmentation fault (core dumped) -- rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in IA__g_hash_table_lookup() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/285397 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

First, let me just state that running random commands that you don't know what they do as root is a BAD idea! Secondly, the same complaint was filed as debian bug #325290 and was fixed by adding a manual page in the debian package version 20071016-3 (later included also upstream), so nowadays ubuntu probably contains it too (so this bug can probably be closed?). -- routef is missing a man page. routef --help executes the script.
