[Bug 1971896] Re: No SSL support without libssl-dev

2022-05-08 Thread Andreas Noteng
SSL support was removed some time ago due to a missing OpenSSL exception
to the GPL Licence. This exception has since been added, and SSL support
will therefore be added to the next upload to Debian.

[Bug 1843972] Re: segmentation fault on start

2019-11-19 Thread Andreas Noteng
Good, that means this issue should be fixed in the 20.04 release of
Ubuntu, as it will utilize the updated package currently in Debian. Feel
free to try requesting a sync for the 19.10 release, but the source has
significantly changed since the version currently in Ubuntu, so I
suspect it'll be rejected.

I went ahead and uploaded to Debian without SSL support:
https://tracker.debian.org/news/1062194/accepted-transgui-5170dfsg-1-source-into-unstable/
Bugs in this package should be reported to Debian bug tracker, or here if on
Ubuntu after sync to Ubuntu. I will probably have to ask upstream for help
fixing it anyways, but since you're running ubuntu and the package was built
for debian there might be other issues not caused by upstream involved.
I can upload the package to a PPA to have it built for Ubuntu. Which release
are you running?

Ok, I will create a test package for Debian sid which you could test for me.
Please allow some time, as a lot of things have changed both in the upstream
source and in Debian since the last time this was packaged.
I would still appreciate feedback from experienced Debian and Ubuntu developers.

[Bug 1836400] Re: transgui is outdated; new upstream repo should be used

2019-07-12 Thread Andreas Noteng
The upstream of the transgui currently in Debian and derivatives is this one:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/transgui/
The upstream you are referring to is a fork of this project. I have been in
contact with both upstreams and previously considered changing sources. I my
opinion the project you are referring to should have released under another
name since Mr Sidorov has not abandoned his original project.

Last time I looked at the fork, development seemed to have shifted focus
towards Windows with little or no testing and development being done for
Linux. This may have changed since last time I looked, and I am willing
to reconsider my previous decision to not switch upstreams. The original
project have not seen any action since 2017, and that certainly speaks
in favor of the fork in github. That being said, the original upstream
has always helped me fix bugs as needed in Debian and Ubuntu.

I'd appreciate arguments pro et contra from experienced Ubuntu and/or
Debian developers before making a decission to switch.

[Bug 1626870] Re: USB-devices connected to dockin not recognized when connected at boot

[Bug 1061195] Re: Evolution appears unable to create EWS or Exchange MAPI account

2016-08-02 Thread Andreas Noteng
This bug is fixed in upstream release 3.20, which is available in
Debian. The package cannot simply be synced over, as it also needs
evolution-data-server which afaik has some build issues.

[Bug 1578950] Re: Dependencies are not provided in yakkety repo

2016-05-15 Thread Andreas Noteng
The packages are made for Debian and autosynced to Ubuntu. You would have
thought they had some kind of dependecy checking in place before syncing?
Anyways, this is the developement release, maybe there are plans to upgrade
libssl? If not I'll create an Ubuntu specific package in a few days.

[Bug 1393906] [NEW] Translations not copied from Debian

Public bug reported:

I recently switched back to Ubuntu after using Debian for a while and
noticed that the Norwegian bokmål translation of GnuCash is less
complete in Ubuntu than in Debian. Most annoying is the fact that half

translated to Norwegian.

I would probably have to locate the change that fixed the issue in the
upstream source and apply a patch to the version allready in saucy. As a
rule new versions aren't introduced into released versions of Ubuntu.

I'll look in to it as soon as I can find the time. Thanks for testing.

[Bug 1087999] Re: UI event focus stuck in some pane, impossible to reach the rest of the UI

2012-12-08 Thread Andreas Noteng
I'll try to get the newer version imported to quantal. I don't really
care for the overlay scrollbars, they're ugly and decreases usability.
I'f you want them back (I believe Yuri disabled the intentionally), I'd
recommend filing an upstream bug. I just noticed almost none of the apps
I use have them enabled..

[Bug 1087999] Re: UI event focus stuck in some pane, impossible to reach the rest of the UI

2012-12-08 Thread Andreas Noteng
** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+
+ * Overlay scrollbars are broken, and focus gets stuck in one of the
+ panes
+
+ * The fix needs to be backported because in the current state, transgui
+ is unusable.
+
+ * The fix includes an upstream vcs commit which adds some checks that
+ effectively disables overlay scrollbars
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ * Install transgui and try to use it, see that the scrollbars won't
+ work, and that focus will get stuck
+
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ * Regressions are unlikely as all this does is disable the overlay
+ scrollbars. It's unlikely to affect other packages as transgui is a
+ frontend, and it has no revdeps.
+
+ * The newer upstream release has been tested by me since release, and
+ the patched version seems to work fine on my computer.
+
+ [Original description]
+
It seems that the problem reported as Bug #865410 reappeared in quantal.
Right after start of the app, the UI works as it should, but after a few
clicks, wherever in the window I click a mouse button, or regardless of
how many times I hit the TAB key, the clicks and keypresses end up in
just one pane of the window (usually torrent details pane) and no
operation that needs a click in another pane, including menu, can be
  performed.

Note that the package uses overlay scrollbars now; last time disabling
the overlay scrollbars alleviated the problem.

  Happens under Unity and Cinnamon.

To make sure this wasn't caused by something beyond Ubuntu's controll, I
also tried a fresh install. The mouse poiner hardly moves at all. Scroll
does not work, but sometimes trying to move the pointer will scroll
instead. While typing this, the mouse pointer stopped reacting at all,
but started to slowly drift downwards towards the bottom of the screen.
If I move the pointr using an USB-mouse, it will immediately drift down
again.

Hello, and thanks for uploading. However, I do not think this upload
fixes bug #78455, it's merely a workaround. The bug is that file system
translation does not work, the workaround is to make checkinstall not
default to file system translation, the bug still exists. I'll continue
to work with upstream to find a real fix for this.
Unless you disagree, I'll sett bug #78455 back to triaged.

[Bug 975140] [NEW] Please sync latest checkinstall from Debian unstable

2012-04-06 Thread Andreas Noteng
Public bug reported:

Please sync latest checkinstall revision from Debian unstable, and apply the
attached debdiff.
The newest update in Debian fixes some minor bugs not reported in the Ubuntu
BTS, the debdiff is a wokaround for bug #78455 which has been present in
Ubuntu for years.
I've tested with an updated Precise installation, and the problem still exists.
With this workaround, file system translation will be disabled by default.

[Bug 917554] Re: Missing regular words like maybe and and

2012-01-18 Thread Andreas Noteng
There are lots of other very common words, in both Norwegian Nynorsk (nn) and
Norwegian Bokmål (nb) that are missing.
Here are some nn-words I've come across lateley in libreoffice, a lot of them
quite common:

Likevel
allereie
altså
arena
at
dersom
framleis
indirekte
kanskje
korleis
krev
nokre
såkalla
temmeleg
òg

[Bug 909859] Re: Pressing CTRL-C durring a checkinstall --fstrans=0 results in bash: /bin/bash: No such file or directory

2011-12-29 Thread Andreas Noteng
I don't really see what would be expected behavior here? Pressing CTRL-C
in the middle of an operation isn't something you'd normally do and
expect to get any kind of usable result..?

[Bug 795563] Re: evolution's incoming mail filter rules doesn't work with Exchange MAPI protocol

2011-12-06 Thread Andreas Noteng
Do the rules work when selecting all messages and then clicking messages -
apply filters?
I have the same problem in Oneiric, rules work just fine if applied manually,
but not automatically when recieving new messages.
