[Bug 1836400] Re: transgui is outdated; new upstream repo should be used
The upstream of the transgui currently in Debian and derivatives is this one: https://sourceforge.net/projects/transgui/ The upstream you are referring to is a fork of this project. I have been in contact with both upstreams and previously considered changing sources. I my opinion the project you are referring to should have released under another name since Mr Sidorov has not abandoned his original project. Last time I looked at the fork, development seemed to have shifted focus towards Windows with little or no testing and development being done for Linux. This may have changed since last time I looked, and I am willing to reconsider my previous decision to not switch upstreams. The original project have not seen any action since 2017, and that certainly speaks in favor of the fork in github. That being said, the original upstream has always helped me fix bugs as needed in Debian and Ubuntu. I'd appreciate arguments pro et contra from experienced Ubuntu and/or Debian developers before making a decission to switch. ** Changed in: transgui (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: transgui (Ubuntu) Status: New => Opinion ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #897088 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=897088 ** Also affects: transgui (Debian) via https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=897088 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1836400 Title: transgui is outdated; new upstream repo should be used To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/transgui/+bug/1836400/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1087999] Re: UI event focus stuck in some pane, impossible to reach the rest of the UI
** Description changed: + [Impact] + + * Overlay scrollbars are broken, and focus gets stuck in one of the + panes + + * The fix needs to be backported because in the current state, transgui + is unusable. + + * The fix includes an upstream vcs commit which adds some checks that + effectively disables overlay scrollbars + + [Test Case] + + * Install transgui and try to use it, see that the scrollbars won't + work, and that focus will get stuck + + + [Regression Potential] + + * Regressions are unlikely as all this does is disable the overlay + scrollbars. It's unlikely to affect other packages as transgui is a + frontend, and it has no revdeps. + + * The newer upstream release has been tested by me since release, and + the patched version seems to work fine on my computer. + + [Original description] + It seems that the problem reported as Bug #865410 reappeared in quantal. Right after start of the app, the UI works as it should, but after a few clicks, wherever in the window I click a mouse button, or regardless of how many times I hit the TAB key, the clicks and keypresses end up in just one pane of the window (usually torrent details pane) and no operation that needs a click in another pane, including menu, can be performed. Note that the package uses overlay scrollbars now; last time disabling the overlay scrollbars alleviated the problem. Happens under Unity and Cinnamon. [Bug 1072183] [NEW] Touchpad became unusble after upgrade to Quantal

[Bug 996592] [NEW] Regression: Touchpad became unusble after upgrade to Precise
Public bug reported: After upgrading from Oneiric to Precise, the touchpad became unusable. To make sure this wasn't caused by something beyond Ubuntu's controll, I also tried a fresh install. The mouse poiner hardly moves at all. Scroll does not work, but sometimes trying to move the pointer will scroll instead. While typing this, the mouse pointer stopped reacting at all, but started to slowly drift downwards towards the bottom of the screen. If I move the pointr using an USB-mouse, it will immediately drift down again.
