[Bug 1843392] Re: [snap] smart card reader no longer works
I recently had to switch my company card and it now uses a newer version so it get mis-identified by pcsc-lite from debian - but works fine in the latest release of pcsc-lite. As companies like Atos seem to frequently roll out new versions of their cards it would be nice if we could have opensc (I assume this is also in use - not sure whether it is client or server side) and pcsc-lite in a separate snap built from a more recent source -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1843392 Title: [snap] smart card reader no longer works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1843392/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1843392] Re: [snap] smart card reader no longer works
My impression was that smart card readers are pretty common and it is the smartcards that keep changing. So USB access to the smart card devices class should be enough there. Being able to add custom/newer pkcs smartcard support modules sounds like a good idea. I wonder if that could be something shared across applications? I.e. Firefox / Opera or other Nodejs Desktop applications that reuse chromium, will need something similar. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1843392 Title: [snap] smart card reader no longer works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1843392/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1420334] Re: [enhancement] Missing client API for relative surface movement
Yes those branches are not related at all. Unless we expect each client to create a fullscreen transparent/empty surface on every output. Do we really want to support client side decorations? If so we could have a look at xdg-shells way of doing it. When a window drag should be started (because the client clicked on the client side title bar) the client sends a request to move the window according to a given input device. The compositor then either denies or takes over the processing of the input events. I could not verify that, but I assume that the compositor is in charge of ending the window drag. If we expect the client to emit relative surface motion (in surface coordinates - in the surface plane) we need to make sure that unity8 clients receive relative motion. The disadvantage of this would be two or maybe one frame slower than the above. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1420334 Title: [enhancement] Missing client API for relative surface movement To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1420334/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1588237] Re: inconsistent behaviour of the numblock
The described behavior matches the way keyboard mapping is handled within mir right now. Unity8 configures keymaps for each client surface. Each client surface then has its own independent key state. Key state here means the set of active modifier keys, including toggles like Caps Lock, Num Lock. So it depends on which client sees Mir 0.24 will change this behavior. It will default to have a per keyboard device key state tracked and updated inside a mir server like Unity8. Thus Num Lock will stay active after you switch between surfaces. BUT: For that to work Unity8 need to configure its own server side per device keymaps (they only default to us). Additionally we still allow client side per surface keymaps. As of now the solution inside of lp:mir and the presumptive 0.24 would not be capable of transfering the current toggle state of Caps Lock or Num Lock when switching to an application with a client side keymap. We already identified that problem, and I plan to address that soon. But it might not make it into 0.24 As a short term fix I suggest to switch unity8 to only use server side keymaps with 0.24, until this last problem is also addressed. ** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Andreas Pokorny (andreas-pokorny) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1588237 Title: inconsistent behaviour of the numblock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1588237/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1565236] Re: AltGr not working on external keyboards
Ok there is actually another problem here, the modifier information provided to unity8 from usc indicates that alt is pressed even though the currently consuming client interprets the scan code of right alt as level 3 shift... So still a mir change is required. ** Changed in: mir Status: Invalid => In Progress ** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1565236 Title: AltGr not working on external keyboards To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1565236/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1565236] Re: AltGr not working on external keyboards
Those input scenarios work when unity8 is not used as mirserver. The right alt scan code does not reach the client. Unity8 seems to filter out the key press. In some occasions it seems to be sent at a later timer. Long holding of right alt and then pressing sometimes help. ** Also affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: mir Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1565236 Title: AltGr not working on external keyboards To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1565236/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1549455] Re: Unity 8 doesn't load on Intel Pineview graphics [qtubuntu: ASSERT: "eglDestroyContext(mEglDisplay, mEglContext) == EGL_TRUE"]
This bug cannot be fixed in mir or qtubuntu - applications like unity8 and the applications using qtdeclarative will be slow within x11 and mir. A backend for fixed function gpus, i.e using only GL1.5 would be required to fix that.. ** Also affects: qtdeclarative (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1549455 Title: Unity 8 doesn't load on Intel Pineview graphics [qtubuntu: ASSERT: "eglDestroyContext(mEglDisplay, mEglContext) == EGL_TRUE"] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1549455/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
