[Bug 806429] Re: kernel oops caused by umounting nfs4
apport information ** Description changed: On my system i'm using NFS4 with autofs. I think autofs decided to umount one of the NFS4 shares and this might caused the crash. The client usually mounts 2 shares from the server. One is the home directory and the second one is the root directory exported by the server. e.g.: server:/home/username mounted to /home/username server:/ mounted to /network/server The home directory is still present and mounted (still working correctly). The second directory is no longer mounted after the crash occured. Trying to remount it fails (mount hangs). [Bug 806429] Re: kernel oops caused by umounting nfs4
I already ran the command and it already attached several log files. Anyway due this issue is a crash report, i doubt that the 'missing information' is still present on the system. It happened on a system, which don't use daily and right now i don't have the time to get into this issue. Please tell me if you need more information, but only if you could tell me what kind of information is missing ;-). ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/806429 Title: kernel oops caused by umounting nfs4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/806429/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 806429] [NEW] kernel oops caused by umounting nfs4
Public bug reported: On my system i'm using NFS4 with autofs. [Bug 119660] Autofs should be reloaded when state of network interface changes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: autofs At the moment the autofs deamon is started by a regular init script. If the autofs daemon loads its configuration from the network (NIS or LDAP), the configuration is only available after the network interface is up. Using the init script, the autofs daemon tries to load the configuration when the network interface is not yet ready (e.g. no DHCP address assigned yet, etc). I suggest to put a little script in /etc/network/if-up.d/ and /etc/network/if-down.d/ to reload the autofs daemon, so that the configuration gets updated when the state of one of the network interfaces changes. [Bug 99399] Preseed from HTTP URL with parameters does not work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: debian-installer I tried to preseed using a url with parameters (e.g. preseed/url=http://server/preseed.php?name=hostname) But during the installation the url wasn't used correctly. The installer used only a portion of the given url string (e.g. http://server/preseed.php?name). Everything after the = is not used. I've done some research and found out that the bin/env2debconf (in initrd.gz) splits the environment variable by the = sign, but it's not doing this correctly. It tries to truncate the string after the first = searched from the end of the string, but it should use the string from the beginning up to the first = sign. I created a patch which works well with the above url, but i haven't test it with other pressed methods (like file). --- bin/env2debconf.org 2007-03-31 14:49:43.0 +0200 +++ bin/env2debconf 2007-03-31 14:50:09.0 +0200 @@ -8,7 +8,7 @@ OLDIFS=$IFS IFS=$NEWLINE for line in $(set); do - var="${line%=*}" + var="${line%%=*}" val="${line#[!=]*=}" # support preseeding without forcing seen flag if [ "${var%\?}" != "$var" ]; then I hope that my propused fix is fine and get into one of the next versions. ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Preseed from HTTP URL with parameters does not work https://launchpad.net/bugs/99399 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 93360] Re: Dhcdbd: message_handler: message handler not found under /com/redhat/dhcp/eth1 for sub-path eth1.dbus.get.reason
I can confirm this issue. I'm using the latest version of feisty fawn. I configured ldap authentication and since then this issue above occurs. I you need more information (log files, more detailed description) please contact me. -- Dhcdbd: message_handler: message handler not found under /com/redhat/dhcp/eth1 for sub-path eth1.dbus.get.reason https://launchpad.net/bugs/93360 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 94786] Re: [netboot] /lib/preseed/fetch-methods/{ftp, http} empty
the initrd causes this issue. It contains the http and ftp files but it seems that these files are linked (when i unpack it on another machine cpio raises a warning). I corrected this issue on my machine by deleting the ftp and http file and recreate them and then recreate the initrd. -- [netboot] /lib/preseed/fetch-methods/{ftp,http} empty https://launchpad.net/bugs/94786 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 95398] Re: Preseeding Config from HTTP and FTP does not work
In the included initrd.gz archive the ftp and the http file are linked together, which causes that both files are empty when the installer is started. If you unpack the initrd manually, both files contain the same content (and they are linked; see cpio error msg). -- Preseeding Config from HTTP and FTP does not work https://launchpad.net/bugs/95398 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 95398] Preseeding Config from HTTP and FTP does not work
Public bug reported: Fetching Preseed Config from http or ftp fails, because the files /lib/preseed/fetch-methods/http and /lib/preseed/fetch-methods/ftp are empty.
