[Bug 1077064] Re: Laptop LCD goes black after booting
I can confirm that with kernel 3.2.0-34 the problem is solved on my Dell Latitude E5510 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1077064 Title: Laptop LCD goes black after booting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1077064/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1080068] [NEW] i915 no graphics since kernel 3.2.32 update
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS. With the kernel update to version linux- image-3.2.0-32-generic (ubuntu kernel) the system boots but the display always turns black instead of displaying the ubuntu splash screen and stays that way. Despite all that the system is useable in the sense that I can use it blindly, so loging into Gnome 3 (non fallback version) etc. works, just without any graphics. It is also possible to use ALT+F1, blindly start the network manager and use the system via SSH. When starting the system in the resue mode and then choose resume the system starts properly (with graphics being displayed), yet without any graphics acceleration (which leads to Gnome 3 fallback mode). I've tested the mainline linux versions and it seems that the problem was introduced between mainline version 3.2.28 (works) and 3.2.29 (fails). The system is a Dell Latitude E5510 laptop, with an Intel Core i5 M 520 with integrated graphics. I've attached the syslog of a failing start, yet I don't see any error message being raised. It seems as if the system does not even know that it does not display anything, even programs like glxgears, rhythmbox, etc. run perfectly fine. Thank you for your help, if you need any additional debugging information please let me know. I unfortunately do currently not have the time to perform a kernel bisection. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-bug ** Attachment added: syslog of the failing 3.2.29 mainline kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080068/+attachment/3436577/+files/syslog-linux_mainline_3.2.29.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080068 Title: i915 no graphics since kernel 3.2.32 update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1080068/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 885118] Re: duplex printing gone
I've upgraded to the -proposed package (ghostscript etc. were updated), yet the problem is not solved, even the captured printout is byte- identical to the one attached above. I've tried it several times, restarted cups and the complete computer and double checked that the -proposed package is really installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885118 Title: duplex printing gone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gs-gpl/+bug/885118/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, I'm going to attach all wanted information. I'm using Gnome 3 with the Gnome Shell. [Bug 885118] Re: duplex printing gone
I can confirm this problem with a Samsung ML-2580 Series printer. Duplex printing worked flawlessly in Ubuntu 10.10. With Ubuntu 11.10 it still shows the Duplex-Print options in the print dialog, but the setting has no effect. The problem occurs in all tested programs (Libre Office Writer, Evince). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885118 Title: duplex printing gone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/885118/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
