[Bug 1056703] [NEW] Please include iMac display resolution by default in 12.10
Public bug reported: Not sure if this is the right package to request against however upon install of 12.10 today, in the "Displays" setting manager there is no option for the resolution of 2560x1440 which is the resolution my mac uses (using 2560x1600 leaves black borders). To workaround the issue I did the following.. > xrandr --newmode "2560x1440_60.00" 311.83 2560 2744 3024 3488 1440 1441 > 1444 1490 -HSync +Vsync > xrandr --addmode Virtual1 "2560x1440_60.00" At which point I could then select the resolution from Displays. [Bug 879513] Re: nautilus keeps active window status when it shouldn't
I have updated the bug description in the hope that others will be able to reproduce this bug. ** Description changed: Expected behaviour: - Open gedit so that it is active on your workspace (my tests show no opened file is needed but gedit needs to already be open) - In the folder window press enter to open a text document - - Wait for gedit to go full screen - - The active window should now be gedit, press ctrl+f to search for text and perform over keyboard commands on gedit + - Wait for gedit to become the active window + - Press ctrl+f to search for text and perform over keyboard commands on gedit Actual Behaviour: Nautilus keeps the active window status even though gedit may be completely full screen. Any key commands pressed go to nautilus even though the window it hiding behind the now full screen application. gedit is just the example, it could be any application not opened with the mouse. It seems that because no mouse input is received the new window whatever it may be never becomes the active window. [Bug 875156] [NEW] Navigating with just keyboard commands is broken
Public bug reported: When typing the name of a file with the in window searcher thing (see attached screenshot, I have no idea what this is called) it no longer works properly. Expected behaviour is that: 1) You open a new folder window 2) Start typing the name of a file or folder in that directory 3) You press enter to traverse your file system 4) repeat step 2 What I am getting is that after I begin typing the searcher tool disappears and stops functioning or it will work once then after I go into a new directory stops working then. Not only this but the text seems to stay there when I use it after moving to a new directory so you might type something like "go" and enter to select the folder named 'good' and enter it, however when you attempt to type 'bad', you will end up with "gobad" in the searcher textbox because the window didn't wipe out the "go" text upon entering the next window. [Bug 669825] Re: evince-thumbnailer doesn't save outside of /home directory
I feel like you're kind of missing my point. It's not that the app armor profile is wrong, it's that evince never gives you any indication of what's wrong or that there is even a problem happening. Think about another user running this outside via command line, how are they suppose to know it's app armor causing a problem if there is no error message of any kind? There isn't even an error message when a thumbnail can not be saved. In the interests of anyone that comes across this bug with the same issue.. Is this simply not the program to be used for generating thumbnails via command line? This bug is more then a problem with the menu editor program. Adding ".desktop" files to /usr/share/applications isn't working. You can test this by creating the following file in /usr/share/applications/test.desktop Insert the information below to the file.. [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Type=Link Name=Load Google URL=www.google.com Categories=GNOME;GTK;Utility; It should then appear in the menu under "Applications -> Accessories" however it doesn't. desktop files with Type=Application however do appear in the menu as expected. You can test this by changing our test.desktop file like so.. [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Type=Application Name=Load Google Exec=/etc/alternatives/x-www-browser www.google.com Categories=GNOME;GTK;Utility; The latter example is the only work around I can find however this is definitely broken in gnome-panel and has been for a long time now. -- gnome-panel doesn't let me add locations https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476471 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It's "freeware" however I don't see any source code available to compile it myself, I tried running the download however there are problems because it's looking for a dependency in the wrong place (I already have it installed). This kind of thing could be avoided if I have the ability to compile it myself. If the source code is available then great, however I only see a binary. With that being said, with only a binary it's going to be a complete pain to maintain this thing. I suggest you go to the author and convince him or her to release the source code under any license they like then put in a request to package it in Debian (then add the request status here). On my +7 GMT computer the event time is correct 3:15pm however on computer 2 the time of the event is marked as 8:15 pm. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-cg-toolkit There is already an nvidia-cg-toolkit package which installs the 2004 files directly from Nvidia's website but this package should be made obsolete. At the time this package needed to be downloaded directly from Nivida's website due to copyright issues but this is no longer the case. If one downloads the tgz for Linux ( on this page: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cg_toolkit.html#downloads ) there are multiple exemptions allowing for Debian to re-distribute the package. Looking at the .tgz file go to /./usr/local/Cg/docs/license.txt "2.1.3 Linux Exception. Notwithstanding the foregoing terms of Section 2.1.1, SOFTWARE designed exclusively for use on the Linux operating system may be copied and redistributed, provided that the binary files thereof are not modified in any way (except for unzipping of compressed files)." nvidia-cg-toolkit should be packaged and included into Ubuntu as a real package now that the license has changed to allow it.
