Yeah, can't test this because ATI dropped support for my card.

[Bug 363649] Re: laptop <> TV issues (fglrx?)

2009-04-19 Thread Andrew Fuchs

** Attachment added: "xorg.conf"
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25748798/xorg.conf

** Description changed:

When start Xorg on my laptop (using fglrx drivers), while it is
connected to a TV, the screen gets blacked out. When this happens, I am
able to move to the console (screen still completely black) and log in
  blind.

I also have tried sending output to the TV after loging in. To do this I
- use 'amdccle' to 'clone' my desktop to the TV, then change the desktops
+ use 'amdcccle' to 'clone' my desktop to the TV, then change the desktops
resolution to that of the TV. After changing the resolution, the monitor
and TV switch to that resolution, but only show a static image of the
desktop from the previous resolution setting. I have not tried accessing
the console after doing this, yet.

I was able to use this TV with this laptop a few days ago. I do not
remember making any changes to the laptop's configuration.

[Bug 270646] Re: [intrepid] System freezes when running xrandr with an external monitor plugged - Thinkpad T42 - radeon

2009-04-19 Thread Andrew Fuchs
This just started happening on my machine within the past day.

On Intrepid x86_64 with some ATI integrated card, when X starts while my
laptop is connected to my TV (with s-video), the laptop freezes, leaving
me with a solid black screen.

If I boot without the tv connected, then use amdcccle to clone my
desktop to the tv, it works. After doing that, I use the same tool to
change my resolution, which changes the resolution and freezes (but the
desktop does not adapt to that resolution as it used to).

[Bug 207898] [NEW] Dependency chain for "kubuntu-desktop" pulls in "postfix"

2008-03-27 Thread Andrew Fuchs
Public bug reported:

This was done on Hardy Beta
When a user installs the "kubuntu-desktop" or "kubuntu-kde4-desktop" packages,

The background of Liferea's icon is not transparent (when the panel is
set to transparent under the tropical theme and others in the
repositories) WHEN it is started and the "Show number of new items in
the tray icon." option is checked. Simply setting the option while it
is running is not enough to trigger this. Liferea must be started after

[Bug 67537] Re: [edgy] '6.06' should be replaced with '6.10'

The content of these files is outdated on gutsy final.

The "7.04" and "6.06" text in "/usr/share/example-content/oo-cd-cover.odg"
still hasn't been updated.
There is a reference in "/usr/share/example-content/oo-about-these-files.odt"
that refers to openoffice.org 2.2, when the about dialog for openoffice.org
says 2.3
"/usr/share/example-content/oo-derivatives.doc" could use a reference to

"/usr/share/example-content/gimp-ubuntu-splash.xcf" shows "2.2" as the version
number for gimp, however gimp's about dialog shows "2.4.0-rc3" as its version
