[Bug 338669] Re: (Needs UXA) painting artifacts after qt4.5 upgrade on intel chipset
@Jithin Emmanuel It's only broken for those who cannot use UXA and who are experiencing this bug. @naught101 the RC will probably not be backported. There is nothing to stop you from compiling it yourself on your machine. It's fairly easy to do but obviously takes a while. -- (Needs UXA) painting artifacts after qt4.5 upgrade on intel chipset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338669 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to qt4-x11 in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

Hi have the 'magic' line, to enable UXA. It does make a significant difference but the performance is still sluggish. In comparison at least to Fedora 11 Beta which is afaik using X server 1.6. I am trying to work out the differences at the moment. [Bug 342923] Re: (Needs UXA) Kubuntu Jaunty Intel 945 GM - Poor sluggish graphics performance in Kate text, etc.
I am all for being part of the test group, and its great that they are working towards fixing X. Is it in any way possible that there could be ppa's made for the old intel drivers that make jaunty usable again for release day ? That way , even if its not by default, users can be directed to install these which would allow the majority of people to have the new drivers and go through testing, whilst the users who have problems can revert to the old driver until the team feels that the issue is resolved. Its a known issue so we don't really need to keep testing it right ? -- (Needs UXA) Kubuntu Jaunty Intel 945 GM - Poor sluggish graphics performance in Kate text, etc. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342923 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

doesn't the lenovo X300 have the ULV chip though ? I am trying to reduce the chances that unrelated information gets posted and the bug report becomes useless (like so many other bug reports on LP ) if the X300 is really similar enough hardware wise that the issues are the same, if this issue gets addressed then the changes should also work for the X300. I guess there is enough X200 users at the moment that if any testing or information is required that someone will be able to do it. That doesn't exclude X300 owners from trying out the solutions to see if they work. If you find that it doesn't work for X300's and it does for X200 users then it's probably worth adding a separate bug report for the X300 . -- Ienovo X200 power consumption - power top https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/380293 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: The Lenovo X200 by all accounts in the media (cnet, zdnet, engadget) and the thinkpad forums, one of the best performing laptops in terms of battery life relative to its suggested rating by lenovo. According to lenovo you can expect 9hrs of use from a 9cell battery and 3 hours from the 4 cell. Current use under Ubuntu and Linux distros in general is between 3 - 6 hours on the 9 cell and around 1.5 on the 4 cell even at a very light usage. [Bug 380293] Re: Ienovo X200 power consumption - power top
doesn't the lenovo X300 have the ULV chip though ?

Yep, I talked to Matthew and it should definitely be in 2.6.30-rc7 in karmic which is the kernel that I tested with. So either it's not the issue which was addressed with that patch or the patch has not completely resolved the issue. -- wakeups : hrtimer_start_range_ns (tick_sched_timer) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/373245 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
