I'm also now having this problem with 10.10. One thing to note is that this did not happen with an "older" drive. I used to have an 80gb drive attached. Now I have a 1.5tb drive attached. I've only had this issue with the 1.5tb drive. Even when unchecking the box for compress the weekends under the calendar options, it still doesn't work. I tried to edit it also in gconf-editor>apps>evolution>caledar>display>compress_weekends but changing that setting does nothing.
