[Bug 1509562] Re: no icons for menu, folders, directories, files
For those who uses standalone window manager instead of gnome/kde/etc but wants icons back there's a workaround: you have to define environment variable XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=gnome. Don't know if other values work as well.
