[Bug 268201] [NEW] Please sync pybackpack 0.5.5-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2008-09-09 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pybackpack

This is a new upstream (me) bug fix release which fixes the following bugs in
launchpad:
Bug #126663,
Bug #213117,
Bug #219583,
Bug #224825,
Bug #230371.

Upstream changelog diff since 0.5.4:

New in v0.5.5 (08/09/2008)
--
+ Fix TypeError in on_overwrite_dialog_response()
+ Fix TypeError in on_treeview_backup_sets_cursor_changed()
+ Fix OSError in rmtree()
+ Fix AttributeError in do_ssh_backup() (bug #64)
+ Add Czech translation by Kamil Páral
+ Fix parts of GUI where text was being obscured

There were no build system or install system changes and pybackpack
offers no APIs which would have changed.

Debian changelog additions since 0.5.4-1:

 pybackpack  (0.5.5-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * New upstream release
   * Update Standards-Version to 3.8.0.
 - No package changes needed.

 -- Andy Price [EMAIL PROTECTED]  Mon, 08 Sep 2008 14:44:06 +0100

If you do a diffstat for 0.5.5 you will notice that there are a lot of
changes in the .glade files - this was caused by a spaces - tabs
whitespace transition after glade was upgraded, and very few changes
were actually made to the XML as you can see here:

http://projects.sucs.org/projects/pybackpack/changeset/178 (Huge whitespace
changes)
http://projects.sucs.org/projects/pybackpack/changeset/179 (GUI re-jig)

(No code changes were required after these XML changes as the widgets
were just rearranged)

Thanks,

[Bug 214978] Re: totem hangs when playing incomplete .ogg second

2008-04-10 Thread Andy Price
I can confirm this on an up-to-date amd64 hardy install. One bit of
detail is missing from the report (for me, anyway): After step 2 the
multi.ogg file plays and stops very soon but totem doesn't seem to think
it has stopped and continues showing the pause button instead of the
play button. After that point, dragging any file - even an empty file -
onto the totem window makes it become unresponsive.

[Bug 182338] Please sync pybackpack 0.5.4-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2008-01-12 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pybackpack

The current Ubuntu version (0.5.1-2) has a broken dependency on mkisofs.
In Debian we've updated the package and made it depend on genisoimage.
There are no Ubuntu-specific changes so it should be a clean sync.
Changes since 0.5.1-2 in Debian:

 pybackpack  (0.5.4-1) unstable; urgency=low

   [ Andy Price ]
   * New upstream release
   * Update debian/docs - TODO file has been removed
   * Depend on genisoimage which upstream now uses
   * Remove debian/dirs - distutils creates usr/bin
   * Fix section in debian/menu to follow menu guidelines

   [ Piotr Ożarowski ]
   * Homepage field added
   * Rename XS-Vcs-* fields to Vcs-* (dpkg supports them now)

   [ Marco Rodrigues ]
   * Update Standards-Version to 3.7.3.

[Bug 129856] Please sync python-syck from Debian unstable (main)

2007-08-01 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu version: N/A (used to be provided by the syck source package, version
0.55-3.3ubuntu1)
Debian version: 0.61.2-1

I've just filed sync bug #129854 to sync the syck source package. This
no longer provides the python-syck deb so I'm now requesting python-syck
to be pulled into Ubuntu to fill this hole. The python-syck package also
depends on the new version of libsyck0-dev from the new syck package so
please tend to the syck sync request before going ahead with this one. I
can confirm that python-syck builds in gutsy once the libsyck0-dev
package is installed from the new syck package.

Relevant changelog (from syck):

syck (0.55+svn256-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Upgrade to a current upstream svn revision (Closes: #324316, #378440).
  * Remove Python bindings (replacement: PySyck) (Closes: #415217).
  * Switched to PHP5 (Closes: #418308, #359245, #432416)

[Bug 129854] Please sync syck (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2007-08-01 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu: 0.55-3.3ubuntu1
Debian: 0.55+svn256-1

The latest Debian version of syck cures an rc bug and provides a PHP5
module whereas the PHP4 module provided by the syck source package in
Ubuntu had to be removed for obvious reasons. This was the only
significant change in Ubuntu so our changes can be discarded. I can
confirm that the Debian version builds in a gutsy pbuilder.

Please note that the new Debian syck source package no longer provides
the python-syck module as it has been broken out into a separate
package. I'll file a separate sync request for python-syck shortly and
cross-reference.

[Bug 127397] Re: Merge rt2500 1.1.0-b4-4 from Debian unstable

2007-07-25 Thread Andy Price
Hi Cesare, thanks for your work on this package again. One point about
merges - the changelog should only mention outstanding Ubuntu changes
that are additional to the Debian changes, so if Ubuntu changes are
thrown away they need not be mentioned, (i.e. the changelog should
mention the added .desktop file and the Maintainer: field change).

(Please see attached debdiff)

- I've kept the Ubuntu MOTU maintainer field and the usage of dh_iconcache in
debian/rules since it installs icons to /usr/share/icons/hicolor/
- Although MoM highlighted some .po file conflicts, there were no actual
differences on closer inspection. No idea what happened there but I made sure
to keep the .DEBIAN versions as the original anyway.

unstable development version which is scheduled for release as 7.10 in
October. It is possible to upgrade to gutsy gibbon but I would strongly
advise against it at this early stage of development.

That's correct. More accurately, it was only recently added to Debian
Sid which Ubuntu pulls most of its original packages from. So it only
got added in time to be synced into gutsy gibbon.

2007-06-18 Thread Andy Price
I've had a quick look at the package and found there are a few problems
with it:

- Lack of documentation - empty INSTALL file, no README file, etc.
- Running python PyCmdr.py causes a segmentation fault
- License info in the COPYRIGHT file is inconsistent with the website (which
says it's GPL)
- setup.py does not look complete.

I'm afraid I'm not prepared to try packaging it for Ubuntu in its
current state. Thanks for the suggestion though.

[Bug 120486] Please sync paintlib (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2007-06-14 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu: 2.6.2-9ubuntu1
Debian: 2.6.2-10

Last changelogs:

paintlib (2.6.2-10) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Varun Hiremath ]
  * debian/control: Build-Depend on libcurl4-* from libcurl3-*
  * debian/compat: switch to dh_compat 5
  * Enhance debian/watch

  [ Torsten Werner ]
  * Support libcurl3-dev too.

paintlib (2.6.2-9ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * Rebuild with libcurl4-gnutls (change depends and build-depends from
libcurl3-*-dev to libcurl4-*-dev).
  * debian/control: Change Maintainer to XSBC-Original-Maintainer.

As you can see, the dependencies on libcurl4-* are now in the Debian
version so the Ubuntu changes can be disregarded. The Debian package
built cleanly in a gutsy pbuilder.

Thanks

[Bug 120182] Please sync missinglib (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2007-06-13 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu: 0.4.10.debian-2ubuntu2
Debian: 0.4.10.debian-3

Last changelog entries:

missinglib (0.4.10.debian-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Replaced dependency on ocmal-tools by ocamlmakefile [Ralf Treinen].
  * Updated standards version to 3.7.2, no changes needed.

missinglib (0.4.10.debian-2ubuntu2) edgy; urgency=low

  * Rebuild for OCaml 3.09.2 transition

missinglib (0.4.10.debian-2ubuntu1) dapper; urgency=low

  * Update ocaml dependency to 3.09.1

As far as I can see, the ocaml-nox build-dependency update in -2buntu1
from ocaml-nox (= 3.09.0) to ocaml-nox (= 3.09.1) can be disregarded
as the (= 3.09.0) dependency covers the latest version anyway.

The debian package builds cleanly in my gutsy pbuilder.

Thanks

[Bug 120297] rt2500 module missing from gutsy

2007-06-13 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

My wireless card requires the rt2500 module but it has not been included
in gutsy's linux-ubuntu-modules packages although it was in feisty's
linux-image packages. This issue seems to have been mentioned on bug
#118205 after it was closed and bug #116857 which was a dupe of the
previous bug.

[Bug 120301] rt2500 fails to build

2007-06-13 Thread Andy Price
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rt2500

Since feisty, rt2500 fails to build on all arches with errors:

g++ -c -pipe -w -O2 -D_REENTRANT  -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_THREAD_SUPPORT -DQT_SHARED
-DQT_TABLET_SUPPORT -I/usr/share/qt3/mkspecs/default -I. -I. -I/usr/include/qt3
-o raconfigui.o raconfigui.cpp
/usr/include/linux/wireless.h:886: error: 'IFNAMSIZ' was not declared in this
scope
/usr/include/linux/wireless.h:925: error: 'IFNAMSIZ' was not declared in this
scope
/usr/include/linux/wireless.h:1049: error: 'IFNAMSIZ' was not declared in this
scope

Looking deeper, it seems that there was a change in the mainline
kernel's wireless.h back in September where some includes have been
surrounded by an #ifdef __KERNEL__ block in order to sanitise the
header. This means that IFNAMSIZ and some other things no longer get
defined. The changes can be seen at:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=baef186519c69b11cf7e48c26e75feb1e6173baa

Following the comments in linux/wireless.h I tried building rt2500 with
some includes changed from linux/wireless.h to iwlib.h (build dep on
libiw-dev) which allowed the package to build but after installing the
package, rt2500-source failed to build using module-assistant. This
could be a whole different bug but that's where I became out of my depth
of knowledge and felt filing a bug would be more useful.

I'd be happy to try fixing this bug/s since I have an rt2500 card but
I'm not very familiar with this kind of packaging so I may need some
mentoring through it

As an aside, this bug may be quite important to fix as a fallback if bug
#120297 doesn't get fixed for gutsy.

[Bug 119249] Re: Please merge nufw 2.2.0-2ubuntu1

2007-06-09 Thread Andy Price
This is the debdiff between 2.2.0-3 in Debian and my merge
2.2.0-3ubuntu1. I'll change the bug title and description accordingly.

** Attachment added: nufw_2.2.0-3ubuntu1.debdiff
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8036292/nufw_2.2.0-3ubuntu1.debdiff

** Summary changed:

- Please merge nufw 2.2.0-2ubuntu1
+ Please merge nufw 2.2.0-3ubuntu1

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: nufw

- Debian: 2.2.0-2
- Merge: 2.2.0-2ubuntu1
+ Debian: 2.2.0-3
+ Merge: 2.2.0-3ubuntu1

  The Debian packaging was completely redone so the files touched in the
  previous Ubuntu merge (debian/nuauth.template) no longer exist. However,
  the Debian package did not build in my gutsy pbuilder so I've had to
  make the following changes:

- nufw (2.2.0-2ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low
+ nufw (2.2.0-3ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

* Merge from debian unstable, remaining changes:
  - Build dep on libpq-dev as postgresql-dev doesn't exist
  - Update maintainer to match Debian Maintainer Field Spec.
-
- Debdiff on its way...
