[Bug 1574125] Re: suspend not working after upgrade

2016-04-28 Thread Aneesh Dandime
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1566302 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1566302

Same issue with Lenovo ideadpad Z510.

Suspend was working perfectly fine in 14.04
After upgrade to 16.04, my laptop does not wake up from suspend.

Upgrading kernel to 4.4.8/4.5.0 also did not solve the problem for me.

[Bug 1268257] Re: nvidia-331-updates 331.38-0ubuntu3: nvidia-331-updates kernel module failed to build, with only error: "objdump: '... .tmp_nv.o': No such file"

2015-03-27 Thread Aneesh Neelam
I'm running Ubuntu Vivid. Today, when updating kernel from 3.19.0-9 to
3.19.0-10, DKMS went on without throwing any errors. I suppose it is
because nvidia-3xx and nvidia-3xx-uvm packages have been merged. I'm on
nvidia-346 (346.47-0ubuntu4)

Now I no longer need to reconfigure or reinstall the nvidia package(s)
whenever I get a kernel update.

[Bug 1268257] Re: nvidia-331-updates 331.38-0ubuntu3: nvidia-331-updates kernel module failed to build, with only error: "objdump: '... .tmp_nv.o': No such file"

2015-03-11 Thread Aneesh Neelam
Hello, I am currently running Ubuntu Vivid.

I can confirm that this occurs on Linux 3.19 and Nvidia-346.47 as well.
DKMS fails when a new kernel is installed. Need to reinstall or reconfigure
nvidia-346 and nvidia-346-uvm packages manually.

2015-01-12 Thread Aneesh Neelam
This occurs on Utopic as well.

The Nvidia DKMS process failed for nvidia-331.113 when upgrading from
kernel-3.16.0-28-generic-x86_64 to kernel-3.16.0-29-generic-x86_64.

Have to manually reinstall nvidia-331 and nvidia-331-uvm by,
# apt-get install nvidia-331 nvidia-331-uvm --reinstall
after every kernel upgrade.

[Bug 1283439] [NEW] Nvidia video output doesn't work on nvidia-prime (Optimus laptop)

2014-02-22 Thread Aneesh Neelam
Public bug reported:

My laptop is the Dell XPS 15 L502X
Nvidia Optimus laptop

GPUs:
Intel HD Graphics 3000
Nvidia GT 540M

Installed nvidia-prime on trusty on kernel 3.13, getting a black screen when
Nvidia enabled.
No video is output to screen when using Nvidia GPU.

Must switch to VT and uninstall nvidia drivers, restart lightdm service,
reinstall nvidia drivers, disable Nvidia GPU from nvidia-settings and reboot.
On Intel GPU, it works fine.

The nvidia-prime setup worked well on kernel 3.12, but on upgrade to kernel
3.13 it stopped working.
Used nvidia-331-updates and nvidia-331, same issue with both.
Also installed nvidia-331-updates-uvm/nvidia-331-uvm, if it makes a difference.

[Bug 1017162] Re: not able to connect d-link DWM-156 with ubuntu

2014-02-19 Thread Aneesh Neelam
Just eject the modem's CD-ROM to switch to usbserial mode.
eg: eject /dev/sr1
Where sr1 refers to the modem's USB Storage mode.

The device then switches to modem mode.
Saucy and Trusty's kernels already have the appropriate drivers, so the modem
will be detected automatically after that.

However, it should switch modes automatically too.

[Bug 1213161] [NEW] Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in OsAbort()

2013-08-16 Thread Aneesh Neelam
Public bug reported:

I installed Mir and restarted lightdm service.

Then it went into low graphics mode. I switched to a VT and rebooted.
Then it booted fine, but graphics was slightly slower.

unity-system-compositor is present in the list of processes, which
indicates Mir is running fine.

My laptop is the Dell XPS 502X, it has the Intel HD 3000 as well as Nvidia
Geforce 540M.
But I disabled the Nvidia Card using bbswitch.

[Bug 1201753] [NEW] Hangs on resuming from suspend

Public bug reported:

When I try to resume my session in Ubuntu 12.04 (32-bit flavour) on my

I have installed usb-modeswitch again.

[Bug 1191511] [NEW] D-Link DWM-156 doesn't work with SIM Card inserted

2013-06-16 Thread Aneesh Neelam
Public bug reported:

I have a D-Link DWM-156 HSPA Modem, that I bought just a few days ago.
The modem has drivers in its internal storage. There are Debian Software
Packages for both i386 and amd64, so obviously I installed the amd64.deb
using Software Center: 3g_modem_connect_D300_amd64.deb . Then manually,
I did: "sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x2001 product=0x7d01". I have
confirmed that the device switched to usbserial mode from usb-storage
mode. As the product ID was a706 before.

But here is the thing, the device is detected and I get the Mobile
Broadband options in the Network Menu ONLY when a SIM Card is NOT
present in the modem. If a SIM Card is present, the Modem switches to
usbserial mode but after that, there is no change in the network menu. I
can't use my modem in Ubuntu at all, due to this.

I have uninstalled the package usb-modeswitch, but there is no change in
behavior. The modem is detected when there is no SIM Card present and
the network menu shows Mobile Broadband options. But with a SIM Card,
the network menu does not show Mobile Broadband.

And my laptop is the Dell XPS L502X and is almost 1.5 years old. I
always plug my modem into the USB 2.0 port. Everything else works
prefectly (Nvidia with Bumblebee of course)

[Bug 708883] Re: Panda board shuts down during boot

2011-02-12 Thread Aneesh V
@Ken, Paul
I tried 4 different boards having the serial number 750-2152-010(D) and one
with 750-2151-002 (A). No luck in reproducing!
Images:
 * linaro-natty-headless-tar-20110203-1.tar.gz
 * hwpack_linaro-panda_20110203-0_armel_supported.tar.gz

My power supply is not the Digi-Key one you are using, but a GlobTek one
with the same rating (5V, 4A)

[Bug 708883] Re: Panda board shuts down during boot

2011-02-10 Thread Aneesh V
We have been finding it difficult to reproduce this problem. Can
somebody give the following details of a configuration that reproduces
this problem:

Board revision: ES1.0/ES2.0/ES2.1/ES2.2
Board type: 6 layer vs 8 layer
(The 750-xxx- number on the back of the board will give us the above two
details)
hwpack:
file system image:
power supply: USB vs power adapter

[Bug 708883] Re: Panda board shuts down during boot

2011-02-08 Thread Aneesh V
warmcat,
Did your x-loader changes fix the above issue conclusively.

I had seen similar issue(the one that you have explained in your patch not this
bug) on Blaze and fixed it with this patch(On this tree this would also apply
to Panda).

http://dev.omapzoom.org/?p=bootloader/x-loader.git;a=commit;h=7ecbec096c300c7e71b663eae51945522329bfbd

However, in this case, it would crash in x-loader and it wouldn't go beyond
that.
But from the comments above it looks like the crash is happening when kernel is
booting?
Please let me know if my understanding is wrong.

BTW, I tried booting on my 8-layer Panda with 20110207 hw pack and 20110206
headless images.
It worked just fine for me.
