[Bug 1197451] Re: Ubuntu fails to properly boot on Macbook Air 2013 6, 1 & 6, 2

2013-08-19 Thread Anibal Avelar
Orm,
How you can run the kernel 3.11.0?

I could run the version 3.8 in 13.04 with the options nosmp libata.force=noncq
but I can't run with the kernel 3.11.0
I always get a kernel panic error.

I'm using Macbook Air 13" 6.2

[Bug 526379] Re: GDM login fails with regular gnome-session (lucid, i386)

2011-08-10 Thread Anibal Avelar
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 589520 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589520

I had a similar problem, I always got this messages after some time:

Jul 26 12:50:11 server1 gdm-simple-greeter[1266]: Gtk-WARNING:
/build/buildd/gtk+2.0-2.19.6/gtk/gtkwidget.c:5634: widget not within a
GtkWindow

Jul 26 12:50:18 server1 gdm-session-worker[1268]: GLib-GObject-CRITICAL:
g_value_get_boolean: assertion `G_VALUE_HOLDS_BOOLEAN (value)' failed

But I didn't have another idea about was happen. The error ocurred overall
using Firefox or Thunderbird, my session always close

But works for me this option in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Section "Module"

 #Load "record"
 Disable "record"

EndSection

I need to "explicit" disable this module. Then the problem disappear for
ever :P

I know the module is loaded by default then if you don't have the option
doesn't mean the module is not used, you need disable explicitly.

Regards.

[Bug 367450] Re: Can't allocate memory while viewing DVD

2009-12-31 Thread Anibal Avelar

It's true. I had the same error with a new DVD, I tried many things to play
it, but nothing worked, I always got the same error:
"libdvdnav: ifoRead_VOBU_ADMAP vtsi failed"

but I tried the Raf's tip: I played an old DVD, it works fine from the
begin. After I tried again (without reboot) with the new DVD (where I
had the error), the DVD works fine now

Very strange behavior. But works.

Regards.

[Bug 336083] Re: X server lockup in int10 when booting a secondary card

2009-06-30 Thread Anibal Avelar

Hi.

I could fix this problem using a nVidia 8400 PCI Express with dualhead.
Using the latest nvidia driver (version 180) with xinerama support
activated (the support comming with the driver not the Xorg support).

For now forget to use xinerama with two independient nvidia PCI cards or
like that.

Regards.

[Bug 302548] Re: xserver-xorg 7.4 breaks dual card setups

2009-02-28 Thread Anibal Avelar

Hi,

The bug is real. I found it.

Before the upgrade to xserver-xorg 7.4, my xinerama config worked fine.
The problem is when you have how primary card a intel.

The link https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18160
propossed a patch on libpciaccess. I opened a bug on the libpciaccess package:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libpciaccess/+bug/336083

I hope the package will be updated on intrepid, because I can't upgrate
awhile the problem remains.

I have two monitors and I need them.

Regards.

[Bug 336083] [NEW] X server lockup in int10 when booting a secondary card

2009-02-28 Thread Anibal Avelar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libpciaccess0

I have a big bug on xserver-xorg-core 1.5 coming on intrepid. Before on hardy
my X config worked fine, with three cards using xinerama (two PCI nvidia and
primary video card integrated Intel). After some test the Xorg team found a
solution.
The patch is a little change in the libpciaccess library.

Please, read the described problem here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18160
The patch is here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=22033
I attachment the patch in the bug.

I know may be a patch on intrepid will be hard, however I appreciate so
much a package update on intrepid. Because I want to upgrade to intrepid
but awhile the bug remains I can't.

I'm using three cards with three monitors on xinerama. The are nvidia
PCI cards, and the primary card is a Intel integrated card (the origin
of the problem).

I want to upgrade to intrepid because has updated packages necessary to
my work (anjuta, gcc, etc).

Please, update the package with the little patch.

Regards.
