[Bug 795519] Re: Add back system-wide network proxy settings
I'm unable to test this fix right now but I would like to note that even in Ubuntu 11.04, the proxy authentication was not applied globally. Please confirm that authentication works properly in this fix as well. for instance, in 11.04, the proxies used to be set as http://host:port/ instead of http://username:password@host:port/ in the env variables and apt.conf. [Bug 772211] [NEW] System-wide proxy settings do not affect apt-get, wget
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center In System->Preferences->Network Proxy, I set it to use Manual proxy configuration, using the same proxy for all protocols. I provide the HTTP proxy, port, and in details the authentication username and password. I also need to add the proxy details in /etc/wgetrc - the proxy settings themselves as well as proxy_user and proxy_passwd.
