[Bug 2056434] Re: Thunderbird profile not migrated to snap
I too am affected by this bug and I'm migrating later than all these other 4 months since the last post. Yet, I'm in this predicament. snap info thunderbird shows I'm running: installed: 128.1.0esr-1(507) 156MB - Starting thunderbird after first install it created a new profile. Deleted that one, rsync'd my old .thunderbird folder to ~/snap/thunderbird/common/.thunderbird then tried to start it again. Instead I got an odd looking error in a terminal window (see strange error screenshot). I then restarted thunderbird in safe mode and selected 'reset toolbars and controls' and then clicked 'make changes and restart.' This allowed thunder bird to load. However, although I can see my folder structure, there are no emails (see missing email screenshot). Looks like I cannot attached more than one item per comment. It looks like I'm being forced to download gigabytes of email again even though it all exists locally. Another odd error I see in the console is this one: [GFX1-]: glxtest: libpci missing How is it that self contained application is missing something? Isn't the whole premise of snaps to avoid this? I've seen other threads where a user is being asked to install the missing library into their system - how is this different than a .deb package? Interestingly, on my system, I already have that library installed: $ > dpkg -l libpci* Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Inst/Conf-files/Unpacked/halF-conf/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend |/ Err?=(none)/Reinst-required (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ NameVersion Architecture Description +++-===---= ii libpci3:amd64 1:3.10.0-2build1 amd64PCI utilities (shared library) ii libpciaccess0:amd64 0.17-3build1 amd64Generic PCI access library for X ** Attachment added: "Strange Error" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/2056434/+attachment/5811731/+files/Screenshot%20from%202024-09-01%2013-43-51.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2056434 Title: Thunderbird profile not migrated to snap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/2056434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2069993] Re: Panels show garbage or flickering when i915.psr2 enabled
** Description changed: SRU verification for oem-6.8-noble: [Impact] In https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-oem-6.5/+bug/2046315, we've cherry-picked the 8 patches from the most recent mainline kernel to oem-6.8 to fix the panel flickering problem in the Dell OEM project. However, OEM reports that the patches have regression on 6.8.0-1006-oem. For now, we apply the workaround patches from oem-6.5 to fix the bug. In the meantime, we've reported the issue to Intel and are waiting for the fix. Once the fix is available in the mainline kernel, we'll backport the fix into - oem-6.8 kernel and revert the workaround patches. + oem-6.8 kernel and revert the workaround patches, as well as submit them to Oracular. Upstream bug: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/-/issues/9739 + + Upstream patch submission: + https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/137524/ [Fix] Apply workaround patches from oem-6.5 to oem-6.8 [Test Plan] The machines mentioned in the attachment (containing the problematic panel's EDID) would have flickering graphics with the linux-6.8.0-1006-oem kernel. The flickering graphic is gone after applying the workaround patches. [Where problems could occur] The workaround patches add some quirks that disable PSR2 on some panels. So far, there are 7 panels listed in the quirks (other panels used by OEM products are flickering-free without the patches). [Bug 2062120] Re: lenovo yt3 kernel support
If Ubuntu Mantic with 6.5 kernel works for you but fails in Noble with 6.8 kernel, then something must be broken between these two versions. In order to identify when the bug was introduced, please download the test kernels (*.deb) from the following two locations, install the debs, and then boot to them and see if they work for you or not. 1. https://kernel.ubuntu.com/mainline/v6.6.30/amd64/ 2. https://kernel.ubuntu.com/mainline/v6.7.10/amd64/ You can download them to a folder, then run 'sudo dpkg -i *.deb' to install.
