[Bug 73862] Re: Add optimized cipher modules to initramfs

2007-09-18 Thread Anthony DeStefano
You should file another bug report for the non-cryptroot stuff. This
report is only for updating the initramfs to support the platform
specific modules. After / is mounted the modules that are in initramfs
do not matter.

2007-09-02 Thread Anthony DeStefano
I can confirm this on a Thinkapd T23. It may be related to a recent ACPI
update since it does not work correctly when trying to manipulate
/proc/acpi/ibm/brightness directly.

[Bug 132939] Re: [gutsy] Suspend does not work from GDM login screen

2007-08-22 Thread Anthony DeStefano
When I click on suspend in the gdm menu I get a pop-up with the message
Are you sure you want to suspend the computer? After clicking OK
nothing happens.

sudo pmi action sleep suspends the computer just fine from both the
console and an xterm.

[Bug 42052] Re: Screen not locked on resume from hibernate/suspend

2007-08-16 Thread Anthony DeStefano
The fix is what Jean mentioned. When gnome-power-manager starts suspend
it sends a dbus message to gnome-screen-saver that the machine is now
inactive. That kicks on the screen saver. During the resume a dbus
message is sent that the system is now active and to disable the screen
saver. If you tell gnome-screen-saver to lock the screen then it will
ask for a password.

[Bug 132939] [gutsy] Suspend does not work from GDM login screen

2007-08-16 Thread Anthony DeStefano
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

On an IBM Thinkpad T23 suspend does not work when at the GDM login
screen. I have tried three different ways:

1. Closing the lib
2. Pressing the suspend key ont he keybord (Fn+F3)
3. Selecting Suspend from the Options menu.

Suspend and hibernate work after a user has logged in.

[Bug 133031] System does not suspend after switch user

2007-08-16 Thread Anthony DeStefano
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

System is an IBM Thinkpad T23. Suspend and hibernate work in all other
cases but this one.

Reproduce:

1. System - Quit - Switch User
2. Login as a new user
3. Logout as that user
4. Close the lid or press the hibernate key (Fn+F4) at the screen saver for the
original user.

The system does not suspend, the screen blanks instead.

[Bug 115616] Re: Device-mapper errors: dm-linear, lookup failed

2007-08-09 Thread Anthony DeStefano
I saw the same thing today when upgraded from feisty. Removing evms
fixed it. The CPU usage of udevd made my T23 almost unusable which could
be a real problem when trying to fix it.
