[Bug 1637722] [NEW] Can not get the current value of com.canonical.Unity.Screen property DisplayPowerState

2016-10-29 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Public bug reported:

When writing code that needs to know if the device screen is currently
on or off, there is no way of getting the current (initial) value of the
DisplayPowerState property.

I would expect either get access to this property through the standard
org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties interface or have a explicit getter as
part of com.canonical.Unity.Screen interface.

[Bug 1615474] Re: Network Indicator / Connectivity-API is not accessible

2016-10-05 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
This seems to be a manifestation of bug #1576989.

Workaround is to first make sure there is free space on the device and
then delete

.config/connectivity-service/config.ini.lock

I will work on a fix that makes i-network to remove this stale lock file
on startup if one exists.

[Bug 1626767] Re: Tests should be re-enabled / fixed

2016-09-30 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
** Description changed:

- https://code.launchpad.net/~charlesk/indicator-network/flight-mode-
- handle-missing-urfkill disables all tests because of multiple (eleven,
- by my count) separate failing tests.
-
- Nearly all the failures occurred on Yakkety + arm64 or ppc64el, so it's

- resolve themselves when the distro is fixed. Or maybe these really are
- lots of real bugs that need to be addressed.
-
- What I'm sure of, though: they're *not* all related to this three-line

[Bug 1615474] Re: Network Indicator / Connectivity-API is not accessible

2016-09-08 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Now, to get past the "Connect to the Internet to check for updates" in
system settings, could you try to issue the following command:

$ stop indicator-network

Then open system settings and see if it allows you to check for updates.
Right now there should not be any, as OTA-13 has not been released yet,
but this should let you at least receive updates in the future when we
pinpoint and fix the underlying problem.

Then next, please remove any old indicator-network logs:

$ rm  .cache/upstart/indicator-network*

And start indicator-network again:

$ start indicator-network

After this, please attach the latest indicator-network log to this bug
report, and also check if the indicator appears. The log should be
.cache/upstart/indicator-network.log

2016-09-08 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Sorry for the delay.

I will write some instructions shortly how to provide additional
debugging on this.

But first, to connect to a WPA network from the command line, you can
use the following:

$ nmcli d wifi connect password ifname wlan0

No need to run wpa_supplicant manually.

OK, there seems to be still a bug in the code if the SIM cards have PIN

thanks for the report, Robin!

Robin Heroldich (robinheroldich) wrote:

This is actually desired behavior ATM. On Dual-SIM phone you need to
select which SIM card to use from the system-settings before the toggle
can work. On a Single-SIM phone the flow is a bit awkward, but we can
improve on the experience in the future.

> then I turned it off, after that, both toggles were disabled (on the
Indicator and in the System Settings too)

This should not happen. Next time you see this happening could you
provide the output of running /usr/share/ofono/scripts/list-modems on
the shell and the contents of /home/phablet/.config/connectivity-
service/config.ini

Thanks!

2016-06-20 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
We now have an on/off toggle for mobile data (cellular data) in the
network indicator. It's scheduled for OTA 12, but before landing we'd
like to get more testers to give it a try.

Users familiar with the citrain tool can install this from silo 80 and
report their findings to this bug report.

Thanks!

[Bug 1577351] [NEW] OptionSelector: selectedIndex should be updated before onTriggered and onDelegateClicked

2016-05-02 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Public bug reported:

OptionSelector {
onSelectedIndexChanged: {
console.log("SelectedIndex Changed")
}
onTriggered:  {
console.log("On Triggered")
}
onDelegateClicked: {
console.log("Delegate Clicked: " + index)
}

With this example we see that onTriggered and onDelegateClicked are being fired
before selectedIndex has been updated. This makes the onTriggered quite
useless, as the important info of which is the selectedIndex is not there yet.
onDelegateClicked suffers from the same problem, although it's index argument
allows to workaround this bug.

IMHO having the selectedIndex updated before triggering these signals is
a justifiable and sane behavior.

[Bug 1555222] Re: 802.1x APs should be hidden

2016-03-14 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
After some investigation I can conclude that we are not hiding WPA
Enterprise / 802.1x networks completely. They will stay available from
the indicator and system-settings. The only place we want to hide t hem
is from First Run Wizard, inside unity8.

Looking at the i-network menumodel dumps Patty provided we can conclude
that i-network is already marking the Enterprise networks correctly:

   dict entry(
  string "x-canonical-wifi-ap-is-secure"
  variant  boolean true
   )
   dict entry(
  string "label"
  variant  string "COMOB"
   )

For now, I'm marking this as invalid for i-network and passing the ball
to lucas on wizard (unity8) side.

[Bug 1503832] [NEW] SDK cross build does not set PKG_CONFIG_PATH properly according to the architecture

2015-10-07 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Public bug reported:

Trying to build a library under click-ubuntu-sdk-15.04-armhf.
Library requires libpay2-dev to compile.
I have manually installed the package for armhf on the chroot using the
"Maintain" option.

(click-ubuntu-sdk-15.04-armhf)root@beasty:/home/antti# dpkg-query -L
libpay2-dev:armhf

/usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/pkgconfig/pay-2.pc

(click-ubuntu-sdk-15.04-armhf)root@beasty:/home/antti# pkg-config --debug

Cannot open directory '/usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig' in package
search path: No such file or directory
  ...
Looking for package 'pay-2'
Looking for package 'pay-2-uninstalled'

(click-ubuntu-sdk-15.04-armhf)root@beasty:/home/antti# export

(click-ubuntu-sdk-15.04-armhf)root@beasty:/home/antti# pkg-config --exists

Because the arch specific pkg-config path is not set, any qmake project that

[Bug 1498582] [NEW] SDK QtC does not validate click package name

2015-09-22 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Public bug reported:

I created an application with the SDK QtC and entered app name as
"org.qtproject.qthangman.kaijanmaki"

Everything went fine, except that when trying to upload the package to
(staging) store I get the following error:

"The package name org.qtproject.qthangman is not valid.
  It can only contain dashes, numbers and lowercase ascii letters."

Expected Result:
SDK QtC validates the application name when project is created.

Actual Result:
SDK QtC allows to create click packages that can not be uploaded to store.

[Bug 1498586] [NEW] "Developer namespace" not addressed in the Ubuntu Click Wizard

2015-09-22 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Public bug reported:

The Ubuntu Personal Store requires the click package uploaders to set
"Developer namespace" which also is required to be present in the
actual .click file name and manifest uploaded to the store. The current
wizard for creating a new click package does not have any concept for
the "Developer Namespace" and a new developer can't make any connection
between the store "developer namespace" and click application name from
the official ubuntu documentation.

Expected Result:
1. Developer Namespace is explained in the official developer documentation
2. Developer namespace is explained in relation to the click package name.
3. SDK QtC asks for the developer namespace (and reminds that it's the same as
set in the store account)
4. SDK QtC validates the namespace

Actual Result:
None of above.

[Bug 1436064] Re: SIM-PIN has to be entered every time after leaving the airplanemode

2015-06-04 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
This is a feature of the BQ phone HW as it removes the modem SIM interfaces
completely when entering flight mode.
The only option to work around this would be for ofono rild driver to cache the
sim pins when it detects a BQ phone HW and flightmode being activated and
automatically enter the PINs behind the scenes when the phone leaves flightmode.

Updated indicator-network task to Invalid and restored ofono status.

** Changed in: ofono (Ubuntu)
