2010-05-26 Thread Arkashkin
I have installed lucid 64bit on Dell latitude 1440 and blacklisting of
blacklist snd_pcsp and blacklist pcspkr doesn't helps me.
When I shutdown my computer or when I press backspace in a terminal window, I
hear a very annoying and loud sound.

[Bug 542251] Re: [i915] Initialises before agpgart

2010-04-20 Thread Arkashkin
to: Robert Hooker

Thanks a lot, it really solved my problem.
I was writing here only because I have opened this bug report -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/555049,
and after some time I was told that it is related to this bug, and I thought
this problem is related to this problem also.

Again, thank you very much.

I don't know what changes you did and where but I prefer lucid beta-1, at least
there I could turn on the visual effects...
Maybe some one could point me out what to downgrade so the the visual effects

[Bug 542251] Re: [i915] Initialises before agpgart

2010-04-18 Thread Arkashkin
Hi again,
I still can't enable the visual effects on my system.
I have downloaded the most recent updates and now my kernel version is:
2.6.32-21-generic
When my system loads all windows don't have decorations (the caption area where
are the close, maximize, minimize buttons is missing).
When I open the Appearance dialog and try to switch between the
effects/non-effects modes, ubuntu is searching for driver,
a window pop-ups and asking me if I want to stay with the new settings (by the
way in this stage the windows captions are back), and if I choose to stay with
the new settings, the effects are still disabled.

2010-04-12 Thread Arkashkin
My mouse is - Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser
Left = Push the wheel to the left
Right = Push the wheel to the right

And most of laptops today support scrolling to the left or right using

[Bug 560930] Re: Special mouse keys Right and Left, both, moving the volume slider only to the left.

2010-04-12 Thread Arkashkin
I think this is a bug because when I press left or right on my mouse or if I
scroll left or right with my mouse pad on my laptop, the volume bar does change
but only into one direction. If this function wasn't supported, why the scroll
bar does react where I press those keys ?
By the way: The volume scrollbar moves only to the left, not to the right...

[Bug 560930] [NEW] Special mouse keys Right and Left, both, moving the volume slider only to the left.

2010-04-11 Thread Arkashkin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-sound

Hi,
When I click on the volume icon on the upper gnome panel, menu opens and I can
change volume one of those ways:
1. Moving mouse wheel
2. Drugging the volume slider
3. Press Left and Right keys, which are special keys on my mouse.

I found a problem with the third way, both Left and Right keys on my
mouse are moving the slider to the right.

Hi,
I have reported this bug before -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/555049
and because my bug is considered the same as this one I will report my new
problem here.
I could not activate the visual effect only ones after a fresh install and
after that visual effects could be switched on/off pretty well.
After I have upgraded to Lucid 64bit beta-2, I can't turn them all again...

[Bug 543245] [NEW] Screen's graphics messed up on radeon 9200se (with and without compiz..)

2010-03-21 Thread Arkashkin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Hi,
I have installed Ubuntu Lucid beta1 on my old computer which has ATI Radeon
9200SE (it is based on rv280 chip-set) graphics card.
In Karmic every thing worked well but with Lucid many graphics, icons, letters
don't shown well.
I wanted to take some screen shot for example but the screen shots come out
even worst then it is in reality (I'm writing from this computer right now...):
http://www.ubuntu-pics.de/bild/48123/screenshot_tzQl5G.png

I barely can see my mouse pointer, and to turn on and off compiz doesn't
change anything.

Sorry for my bad English.

[Bug 384489] Re: [upstream] [3.2] Mathtype Equations give 'General Error'

2010-02-05 Thread Arkashkin
I'm using Ubuntu Karmic (9.10) 64bit, and I have installed - OOO320m7 (build -
9461), the bug is still exist.
The only solution I have found is to use Microsoft Office 2007 with wine...

[Bug 256876] Re: MathType formulas messed up and not converted in Open Office

2009-11-18 Thread Arkashkin
Stil doesn't work for me in Ubuntu Karmic, even with Geoff's solution.

To alex_b :
Do you see well the presentation file that Waluyo Adi Siswanto has posted ??
I think you just looking on a limited symbols file, because many of my friend
have tried that solution...

Hello,
Maybe you know how I can do your workaround if I use Gnome and not KDE ?

Thanks.

[Bug 80940] Re: ati radeon driver does not autodetect displaysize on Latitude D600, therefore uses wrong resolution

2009-05-12 Thread Arkashkin
I have the same laptop model and both Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex and Jaunty can't
detect my maximum resolution of the laptop screen which is 1400x1050. The only
modes i have to choose from are - 640x480,800x600 and 1024x768 and the funny
thing is that on older versions of
Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn and Hardy) I could fix it by changing xorg.conf to:

//
Section "Device"
Identifier "Radeon 9000"
Driver "ati"
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
Option "GARTSize" "64"
Option "MergedFB" "off"
Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Generic Monitor"
Option "DPMS"
HorizSync 30-70
VertRefresh 50-160
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Device "Radeon 9000"
Monitor "Generic Monitor"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Virtual 1920 1440
Modes "1400x1050"
EndSubSection
EndSection

Section "ServerLayout"
Option "AIGLX" "true"
Identifier "Default Layout"
Screen "Default Screen"
InputDevice "Generic Keyboard"
InputDevice "Configured Mouse"
EndSection

Section "DRI"
Mode 0666
EndSection

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

I now use Ubuntu Jaunty and i tried changing my xorg.conf to:

///

Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Option "IgnoreEDID"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Configured Monitor"
DisplaySize 286 214
Option "DPMS"
HorizSync 30-70
VertRefresh 50-160
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Monitor "Configured Monitor"
Device "Configured Video Device"

SubSection "Display"
Modes "1400x1050"
EndSubSection

EndSection
//

and it doesn't helps me either.

This is my xrandr command output :

///

Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 1024

2009-01-17 Thread Arkashkin
I have found this post - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Joystick_lshal
that brought me here. So :

Company name : Topway
Model : TP-U626 <-- I don't know for sure if that is it's model's name, but
on their home page, the picture exactly looks like my joypad...
It's black, look's exactly like "sony playstation 1" joypad, and has the
dual-shock function...

I have bought it for about 3 years ago, it was made in china.

Company's home page : http://www.sztopway.cn/

When i connect it to my computer, it doesn't recognized by any game or game
emulator...
The computer keeps working us usual...

Please help...
