This crash just happened: 1859911 I still see those errant extensions inside of GsettingsChanges.txt, but they don't appear in the GNOME Tweak UI, nor do I see them in /home/asif/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions I have no idea where they are on disk, and I would be happy to remove them from disk if I knew where they were. I also don't see them installed via apt. I went ahead and reset the key via dconf-editor since it seems like those are stale entries, so new crashes shouldn't have that set and confound the situation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1859259 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_surface_actor_get_texture() from meta_wayland_actor_surface_real_sync_actor_state() from meta_wayland_subsurface_sync_actor_state() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1859259/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1859259] Re: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_surface_actor_get_texture() from meta_wayland_actor_surface_real_sync_actor_state()
Daniel, The first line in GsettingsChanges.txt says: b'org.gnome.shell' b'disable-user-extensions' b'true' I globally disabled extensions via GNOME Tweak -- does this switch not work? I just now also removed everything inside of /home/asif/.local/share /gnome-shell/extensions -- there was only one extension there (but it should have been disabled anyway). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1859259 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_surface_actor_get_texture() from meta_wayland_actor_surface_real_sync_actor_state() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1859259/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1859259] Re: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_surface_actor_get_texture() from meta_wayland_actor_surface_real_sync_actor_state()
Okay, looks like my new bug in 1859890 was closed as a duplicate. As I mentioned in that bug, I both removed the extensions mentioned *and* disabled extensions entirely in GNOME Tweak. I ran into the bug in 1859890. Hopefully that gives you some more information and shows that the issue exists in plain GNOME, not just when add-ons are installed.

[Bug 1858120] [NEW] Graphical corruption Intel HD Graphics 630 when using Firefox nightly in Wayland mode
Public bug reported: Also tracked in: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1604948 Once every few starts of Firefox on my machine ends up corrupting the display of my Wayland session badly - what looks like a lot of stray marks on my display are seen overlaid on top of all windows, not just Firefox. Logging out and logging back in resolves the issue, but there is a chance that it recurs on next launch. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Gnome session in Wayland mode. 2. Start Firefox Nightly with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 What happens: Various issues, including "unknown" application appearing in task switcher, stray marks on screen, and dead/inactive windows that persist over other windows even when switching virtual desktops. [Bug 1838208] Re: Wifi stops responding sporadically on lenovo-yoga-720-15ikb
I will note that sometimes, restarting network-manager doesn't work, especially if I have put the machine to sleep prior to trying to access the network. Here's a dmesg where it did come back after network-manager restart. ** Attachment added: "dmesg.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1838208/+attachment/5284074/+files/dmesg.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1838208 Title: Wifi stops responding sporadically on lenovo-yoga-720-15ikb To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1838208/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I copied the contents of linux-firmware-20190815 to /lib/firmware/ and rebooted with the v5.3-rc3 kernel. The issue persists in this configuration. [Bug 1838208] Re: Wifi stops responding sporadically on lenovo-yoga-720-15ikb
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: I can make this happen by trying to upload a large file using Firefox Nightly to https://send.firefox.com/ Within a few seconds (like 10-15) my wifi stops responding. [Bug 1823834] [NEW] Firefox doesn't correctly display color emoji because Dejavu includes b&w emoji
Public bug reported: As seen on: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1516445 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1323050 STR: I am using Firefox nightly, but the installed Firefox built into ubuntu works as well. Firefox comes with a font "TwemojiMozilla.ttf" which includes emojis in color. 1. Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emoji#Unicode_blocks 2. Scroll to row U+1F60x What happens: The emoji are not displayed in color, because Dejvu Sans seems to be rendered instead of TwemojiMozilla (the font built into Firefox). Expected result: Color emoji. Since Dejavu doesn't display color emoji and Firefox was kind enough to include a font that includes color emoji, Ubuntu's fontconfig should let Firefox do the right thing. [Bug 1390589] Re: 8086:08b1 [Lenovo V570] Intel Wireless 7260 wifi stops working
Christopher, I have a question about the reverse bisect process. It looks like you want me to download Linus' tree, checkout the 3.18-rc3 release, and mark it bad. However, I am unsure of which revision I should mark as "good" to correspond to the 3.16.0-24.32 kernel I reported the bug for. The "mapping" is not present on http://people.canonical.com/~kernel/info /kernel-version-map.html so any assistance here would be extremely helpful. [Bug 1388636] [NEW] Lenovo v570: Brightness not changing via UI widget in GNOME shell or hotkeys
Public bug reported: Fresh install of a Vivid Vervet Ubuntu GNOME daily iso. Adding debugging information from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Debugging/Backlight I found that echo 8 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness worked to lower my screen brightness, without playing with kernel parameters. Booting with the kernel parameter: acpi_backlight=vendor did not enable the UI widget or hotkeys, although echo 8 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness continued to work. [Bug 1093364] [NEW] 6.20.155.1+bdcom-0ubuntu2 causes 100% cpu in networkmanager, sudo does not work, rebooting does not work, wifi does not work
Public bug reported: Using a Dell Latitude E5400. Description:Ubuntu Raring Ringtail (development branch) Release:13.04 Recently updaed the bcmwl-kernel-source package to 6.20. At that point, wifi stopped working, my CPU went to 100% with Networkmanager taking all of it, sudo did not work (making it extremely difficult to remove the package). I noticed that when installing the package, Xorg switched me over to a vterm, where a stack trace was shown. Downgrading to the 6.20.155.1+bdcom-0ubuntu2 package works great. bcmwl-kernel-source: Installed: 5.100.82.112+bdcom-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 6.20.155.1+bdcom-0ubuntu2 Version table: 6.20.155.1+bdcom-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://mirror.anl.gov/pub/ubuntu/ raring/restricted amd64 Packages *** 5.100.82.112+bdcom-0ubuntu4 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Not sure how I can capture more information to report without network access.
