2010-05-30 Thread Assid

it seems everyone else has already done that. I am curious tho, shouldnt
this have been fixed before it going stable?

I have always had a password on my account, so im not sure its the same

[Bug 254467] [NEW] vzctl doesnt limit cpulimit and cpus

2008-08-03 Thread Assid
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vzctl

vzctl lets you set resources on an VE.

However, I tried to set the cpulimit and cpus, but it just doesnt seem
to work right.

I have this working flawlessly on a debian backport on a debian
hostnode. The Ubuntu HN however, doesnt seem to work correctly. The
cpulimit and cpus is just ignored.

Debian HN:
cpu MHz : 2394.092

VE on above HN
cpu MHz : 119.237

Ubuntu HN:
cpu MHz : 2394.110

VE on Ubuntu HN
cpu MHz : 2394.110

As you can see, I am unable to limit the cpu.

This is a big hazard, specially for anyone coming in thinking the cpu
limit etc is working. A persons hardware node can spiral down if a VE
spins out of control

[Bug 194761] [NEW] [hardy] gnome time does not update

Sometimes the time shown gets frozen. i.e. it shows a particular time

[Bug 192962] [NEW] sun-java6-plugin does not work in firefox3

2008-02-18 Thread Assid
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sun-java6-plugin

Ever since apt got rid of my firefox2, making FF3 compulsory, things have gone
awry.
I cant seem to get the plguin to work in FF3. I checked about:plugins its just
not there. So i got rid of it. and tried to install again. This didnt help. So
i got rid of it, went to http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml , let
firefox as ask to install the plugin, i choose it, and still doesnt work.

Oh yeah when the system askedme to import from FF2, i had chosen NO. I
didnt expect FF2 to disappear honestly

[Bug 192579] [NEW] shares-admin sometimes doesnt synch with smb.conf

2008-02-17 Thread Assid
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

Sometimes shares-admin doesnt synchronise with smb.conf
When it does, you notice as if its reloading or something (shows some process
being done).

I tried this.

First unlock. add a new smb share. This should work if its the first time you
started shares-admin
Now close it. Wait 10 seconds. And then go back . Unlock. Try and delete/add
new one. It doesnt synchronize anymore.

[Bug 154722] compiz fusion ccsm backend doesnt save properly to kde

2007-10-19 Thread Assid
Public bug reported:

CCSM (compiz fusion backend ) doesnt save properly to KDE, changing this
to flat file fixes alot of problems. For example, the auto raise on
click. Try changing the settings here while saving the backend to KDE.
It doesnt save. Now change this to flat file and it works fine.

Other options as well do not go on/off while saving in KDE backend.

[Bug 154720] compiz

2007-10-19 Thread Assid
Public bug reported:

compiz fusion was working fine after 2 reboots (with compiz running
immediately on reboot on its own, no need for adding the compiz
--replace in the autostart of kde). I rebooted and next thing i know
compiz fusion started acting funny. Moving to kwin was okay. But to run
compiz again now, shows the tray icons on the left hand corner. Atleast
most of them. This one is a bit strange to explain.

[Bug 129340] Re: System slow downs with desktop effects enabled

2007-08-25 Thread Assid
It seems to get slower with some new update. Ever since i saw the new kernel
and nvidia-glx package updated around 2-3 times updates ago
I got a 6600GT as well.

Also, I do notice that IF i leave my machine idle, absolutely doing
nothing for a couple of hours and I come back and use it, it keeps
locking up. Perhaps something to do with nvidia-glx? OR the kernel ? or
what?

[Bug 134443] compiz benchmark is much slower

2007-08-24 Thread Assid
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

After the latest update (whatever is available as of the time of writing
this), compiz benchmarks have come down quite a bit. I used to average
over 400- 450 range. I am now pushing 260-280. I tried the benchmarks
as soon as X was up and running with compiz. The difference is between
the last package and the current one.

I have a NVIDIA 6600GT, and am using nvidia-glx

xorg.cong hasnt been updated between the compiz revisions.
