[Bug 551480] Re: pdf: wrong proportions and margins
I can reproduce this on 10.10. My margins are large enough that nothing is getting cut off, but the margins are about 1/4 inch too large. This would have gone unnoticed, except that my university measures the margins of theses and dissertations with a ruler. LPR prints pages with the correct margins. -- pdf: wrong proportions and margins https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/551480 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 131976] Re: apparmor doesn't work on stacked file system (livecd) -- DHCP/cups/others fail to start
Turning apparmor off on the LiveCD is ignoring the underlying problem that apparmor doesn't work on stacked file systems. I'm currently developing a system that uses aufs as the root file system, and there's no way to use apparmor with it. I assume this is a bug that would need to be fixed upstream. Does anyone else know where or how to file a bug report that will actually get this fixed, rather than just covered up? -- apparmor doesn't work on stacked file system (livecd) -- DHCP/cups/others fail to start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131976 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 483415] Re: Gnome crashes on web page load
I have to disagree with the assessment that this is not a security vulnerability. This bug that allows arbitrary web pages to crash an entire Ubuntu session. This may not allow privilege escalation, but it can certainly lead to data loss if users have any unsaved documents open while browsing the web. If this vulnerability were deliberately exploited, Ubuntu desktop users could become the target of denial of service attacks. If a web server had a bug that made it subject to denial of service attacks, I assume it would be considered a security vulnerability. [Bug 426511] Re: Cannot Eject CD while running of Live USB
My testing was in 9.04, so it's possible this has been fixed in Karmic. I'm certain that I did not boot from the CD instead of the USB disk, because I don't have any 9.04 CDs. I made the USB disk from an ISO, and tried to eject an unrelated data CD that was in the drive when I booted up the system. If this seems to be working on Karmic, I won't worry about reopening the bug. -- Cannot Eject CD while running of Live USB https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/426511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 426511] [NEW] Cannot Eject CD while running of Live USB
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: usb-creator When running off of a Live CD, Ubuntu prevents users from ejecting the CD-ROM drive as essential files reside on the CD-ROM. I just discovered that this carries over when using a Live USB drive created with usb- creator, even though the CD-ROM drive is not in use. While I'm sure there are more pressing issues, it would be nice to be able to get CDs out or put CDs in while running off of a Live USB device. ** Affects: usb-creator (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot Eject CD while running of Live USB https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/426511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 103583] Re: Improve graphical timezone chooser, provide choice to enter actual timezones
I'd also like to see it easier to select an American city in the central time zone. Chicago is on the far east end of the central time zone, and it's easy to hit Indiana / Petersburg instead. Putting something like Kansas City on the list would give a solid, middle of the time-zone option that would be easy to select. -- Improve graphical timezone chooser, provide choice to enter actual timezones https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103583 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 307562] [NEW] Spell check identifies "Ubuntu" as misspelled
Public bug reported: The word "Ubuntu" is identified as misspelled by most applications on Ubuntu. I am running Intrepid x86. I have reproduced this bug with the following applications: Firefox Gedit (Spell check must be run manually) Pidgin Tomboy The bug is not reproducible with OpenOffice.org 2.4. I would expect that a spell check dictionary would not report the name of its distributor as a misspelled word. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Spell check identifies "Ubuntu" as misspelled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/307562 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 211372] Re: gnome panel drawer animation wierdness

[Bug 175282] Re: Backspace/delete problem at boot-time entering hard disk encryption password
It seems to me this is a problem with the way input is collected by the usplash_outfifo, rather than being a problem with cryptsetup itself. [Bug 109420] Loading of module "tun" failed!
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vpnc I use Kvpnc as a frontend for vpnc, and as of Feisty I get an error "Loading of module "tun" failed!" when I try to connect to my campus VPN. [Bug 68308] Re: Meta-bug: Ubuntu needs major software RAID overhaul
I've made a couple of bug reports on this subject. The first was closed with the suggestion that I use the alternative install CD, the second has never been addressed, but basically restated that the problem was no better with the alternative CD than with the live CD. I would like to point out that the goal sheet for feisty https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/feisty mentions that better udev support is needed from LVM, EVMS, and MDADM. Betas are available on the first two, and MDADM has been started. -- Meta-bug: Ubuntu needs major software RAID overhaul https://launchpad.net/bugs/68308 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 76764] RAID and LVM do not install with Edgy Alternative
Public bug reported: I filed this bug report about a month ago: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/74530, complaining that the Edgy Live CD did not install RAID or LVM support. I was told to use the Alternative CD. I tried that. It didn't install RAID or LVM support either. I've tried the Live CD. I've tried the Alternative CD. I've tried the repositories. The repositories worked for a while, then something became corrupted and I had to reinstall. I cannot get RAID or LVM working on Edgy. This is essential to my setup, and if it is not supported by future versions of Ubuntu, I will not be able to upgrade to future versions of Ubuntu. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- RAID and LVM do not install with Edgy Alternative https://launchpad.net/bugs/76764 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 74530] Edgy dropped out of the box support for LVM and RAID
Public bug reported: Dapper had out of the box support for LVM and RAID - the Live CD would even recognize volumes and allow you to mount them. Edgy lacks this out of the box support, and I have not found any good documentation on how to install it. I tried installing it from repositories, but after a few days LVM quit recognizing my RAID volumes, and my home file system would no longer load. I was unable to determine the cause of this crash, and decided to go back to Dapper, which had good support. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Edgy dropped out of the box support for LVM and RAID https://launchpad.net/bugs/74530 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
