[Bug 992928] Re: Alt-Backtick Keyboard Shortcut is Hardcoded

2014-08-17 Thread Avdi Grimm
Changing the value in CCSM isn't saved across sessions, even though CCSM
shows it as being saved.

[Bug 878915] Re: Unity Shell Plugin hard-coded key binding

2014-08-17 Thread Avdi Grimm
Note that there was another bug where changes in CCSM weren't saved
across sessions. This seems to be the one setting (that I know of) that
wasn't fixed when the fix for that bug went out.

[Bug 878915] Re: Unity Shell Plugin hard-coded key binding

2014-08-17 Thread Avdi Grimm
CCSM is NOT a fix for this because the setting is not saved across
sessions. It shows as saved in CCSM but it actually isn't; every time I
restart I have to go into CCSM, unbind it and then rebind it again if I
want to be able to use Alt+Grave for something other than window
switching.

[Bug 568973] [NEW] [IDT 92HD73C1X5] No sound from headphone jacks

2010-04-23 Thread Avdi Grimm
Public bug reported:

Runing Lucid beta 2 on a brand new Dell Studio XPS 16. This laptop has
two headphone jacks. Plugging headphones into either jack mutes main
speaker audio, but audio does not play back through the headphones.

The headphone jacks are confirmed to work under Windows 7, but I have
not tried it under any other version of Linux.

Changing the Connector option in Sound Preferences to either Analog
Headphones or Analog Line Out has no effect.

I've also tried installing xfce4-mixer and switching various channels on
and off, with no luck.

[Bug 471087] [NEW] [Dell Inc. Latitude E6500] late resume failure [non-free: nvidia wl]

2009-11-02 Thread Avdi Grimm
Public bug reported:

This occurs often when suspend is triggered by closing the laptop lid,
rather than from software. System never fully wakes up from suspend,
stops at a black screen with a blinking cursor. Have to hard-reset when
this happens.

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from
resuming properly. The resume processing hung very near the end and will have
appeared to have completed normally.

I'll just add that I never found a way to make this crash go away, so
I haven't been able to use calendar synch.

I'm experiencing the same crash of Kpilot that Avdi Grimm did back in

with kpilot compiled from the most recent source.

 Thanks, Scott

[Bug 72490] kpilot deletes all calendar and todo entries from palm

2006-11-19 Thread Avdi Grimm
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kpilot

After synching my Palm m500 with my PC (running Edgy), I found that
while all my Palm calendar and ToDo entries had been transferred to
Kontact, the calendar and ToDo list on my Palm had been wiped clean.
Repeated synchronizations, and choosing copy PC to Handheld had the
same result.

** Affects: kdepim (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed
