Thanks for pointing to the other bug report. Looks like the OP did
create a bug in the Gnome bugzilla,
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=612103, but the last comment
on it is from 2014 so I guess they will not be fixing it.

[Bug 1884942] [NEW] Nautilus doesn't provide a way to handle changed SSH key

2020-06-24 Thread Avi Schwartz
Public bug reported:

I rebuilt one of my machines from scratch which means that the ssh key
has changed. While I can connect to that machine from the command line
via ssh, if I try to connect to it via Nautilus all I get is a "Host key
verification failed" error. When using the command line I get notified
which line in known_hosts is the offending one so I can remove it if it
is legit. Nautilus doesn't report the offending line.

Is there a way to force a connect? Or at least get Nautilus to report
the offending line in known_hosts? Otherwise I have to remove the
known_hosts file but this is not a good solution.

more times just to find out later that I have many new windows open in

[Bug 283658] Re: grip buffer overflow in intrepid

2009-01-31 Thread Avi Schwartz
Hajime, are you sure it has to do with the genre? In my case the genre
was Classical and it still crashed.

in any case your patch seems to work in most situation but there is
still a problem although I am not sure it is related.

If the track name is very long, that is greater then 95 characters, the
file name gets truncated and the ripped and encoded file names end up
being the same causing the encoding to fail since it is overwriting the
ripped file.

[Bug 254322] Re: Kernel Oops - unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000. eip: f8bae996 *pde = 00000000

2008-08-08 Thread Avi Schwartz
You were right. It seems that removing linux-backports-modules did
solve the kernel panic problems. For 3 days now my laptop did not panic
once. So far the only thing that seemed to be affected by the removal
of linux-backports-modules is that the wifi indicator stopped working.

Unfortunately the answer is yes. I thought it was fixed but just 5
minutes ago I tried to restart my machine and the same problem happened
again.

[Bug 254322] [NEW] Kernel Oops - unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000. eip: f8bae996 *pde = 00000000

2008-08-02 Thread Avi Schwartz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24

From time to time, sometimes this first time after a boot, sometimes on
the 3rd or more time, when I send my laptop (Dell XPS M1330) to sleep
the kernel panics. I am attaching the information I captured in
kern.log by pressing Alt-SySRq-1 followed by Alt-SysRq-t.

[Bug 249285] [NEW] In Gutsy mod_defensible has a bug preventing apache from serving requests

2008-07-16 Thread Avi Schwartz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libapache2-mod-defensible

Ubuntu 7.10
Package: libapache2-mod-defensibleVersion: 1.3-1

Once this module is activated apache no longer serves php pages and
instead users are offered to download the page. It seems that this is a
result of this module's failure. In the error.log the following is
displayed:

apache2: udns_resolver.c:477: dns_free: Assertion `ctx != ((void *)0)  ctx !=
dns_defctx' failed.
[Wed Jul 16 20:09:31 2008] [notice] child pid 3060 exit signal Aborted (6)

I found a similar bug report on Debian that said that this problem was
fixed in newer release of this package so I installed the version of
mod_defensible from Ubuntu 8.04 and this solved the problem.

Could you please port the new version (1.4-2) to 7.10 so other will not
have to go through this steps?

[Bug 217558] [NEW] dvd playback works only for root

2008-04-14 Thread Avi Schwartz
Public bug reported:

Hardy: DVD playback sometimes works only for root. Xine as well as all
other DVD players complain that the DVD is encrypted and they cannot
play it back. libdvdcss2 is installed and playback is possible when
done by root. Here is some information:

If I try to play a DVD back as a regular user with xine
--verbose dvd://1 I see the following error:

-- (ERROR) --
The source seems encrypted, and can't be read.
Your DVD is probably crypted. According to your country laws, you can or
can't install/use libdvdcss to be able to read this disc, which you
bought. (Media stream scrambled/encrypted)
-- (END OF ERROR) ---

This is strange since (1) libdvdcss2 is installed and (2) root can
playback properly.

[Bug 216937] [NEW] Dell CMS m1330 card reader does not work with Memory Stick

2008-04-13 Thread Avi Schwartz
Public bug reported:

Hardy:

This may be a kernel issue but I am not sure. On a Dell XPS m1330, the
integrated memory card reader does not work with Memory Sticks even
though it is said to support SD/MMC - MS/Pro. It was tested and works
with SD cards.

[Bug 214404] [NEW] thinkfinger-tools acquire fails on usb_bulk_read error

2008-04-08 Thread Avi Schwartz

After the error is displayed the program seems to do nothing and has to
be killed with a Ctrl-C.

This is on a Dell XPS M1330.
The biometric device is:
