[Bug 138948] Gimmie crashes on startup

2007-09-11 Thread Béné
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimmie

Gimmie crashes everytime on startup on Gutsy (as it does on any other
distro running gnome 2.19) with the following output:

Gimmie Version: 0.2.7

TypeError: () takes exactly 1 argument (2 given)

This issue is beeing tracked here:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458048 Even patch has already
been written and confirmed to work.
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458048#c1) Could you, mighty
MOTUs, please, please apply this patch to the ubuntu gutsy gimmie
package? Not having this patch included renders gimmie totally unusable
(since it won't start) and gives about five duplicate bug reports per
day to the gimmie bugzilla... (and this number is likely to increase
with widespread adoption of Gutsy...)

It would be great if you could apply this patch to the ubuntu package
directly, because right now it seems to take a long time since the fix
is actually commited upstream...

[Bug 190674] [NEW] [Gutsy] g-m-m shows up as "Logout" in gnome-app-install

2008-02-10 Thread Béné
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-main-menu

Reproduce this by entering "gnome-main-menu" in the search field of
gnome-app-install and watch the following entry appear:

"Logout

GNOME start menu applet
This applet provides a "start menu" for the GNOME desktop.
It features a list of favorite applications, and recently used documents.
It also integrates with the Beagle search tool to provide search facilities
from the start menu. It provides shortcuts for common system administration
actions and integrates with network-manager for network status reporting."

Naming the gnome-main-menu "Logout" is highly confusing and should be
fixed.

please give me hint. :)

I am having the same problem. (Using a Radeon 9500 Pro)
Another workaround would be enablng "fglrx" drivers instead of "ati" and
running compiz off of XGL. For me this is not an option, because of XGL
limiations and it's huge amount of bugs...

[Bug 197715] Re: Shutdown hangs on ethernet ports in Dell Inspiron E1505

Hi!

I was experiencing exactly the same bug as you, Broderick. I too have an
Inspiron E1505. With the upgrade to Hardy the problem silently went away
though. (And a number of others popped up, but that's an entirely
different story...) How about you, Broderick?

[Bug 223122] [NEW] After Upgrade to Gutsy f-spot won't start: "The database is locked"

2008-04-27 Thread Béné
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

After upgrading from Gutsy to Hardy I am seeing another problem with the
migration of my f-spot database to the newest format. Upon launching the

$f-spot --debug

[Bug 138948] Gimmie crashes on startup

2007-09-11 Thread Béné
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimmie

Gimmie crashes everytime on startup on Gutsy (as it does on any other
distro running gnome 2.19) with the following output:

Gimmie Version: 0.2.7

TypeError: () takes exactly 1 argument (2 given)

This issue is beeing tracked here:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458048 Even patch has already
been written and confirmed to work.
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458048#c1) Could you, mighty
MOTUs, please, please apply this patch to the ubuntu gutsy gimmie
package? Not having this patch included renders gimmie totally unusable
(since it won't start) and gives about five duplicate bug reports per
day to the gimmie bugzilla... (and this number is likely to increase
with widespread adoption of Gutsy...)

It would be great if you could apply this patch to the ubuntu package
directly, because right now it seems to take a long time since the fix
is actually commited upstream...

[Bug 190674] [NEW] [Gutsy] g-m-m shows up as "Logout" in gnome-app-install

2008-02-10 Thread Béné
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-main-menu

Reproduce this by entering "gnome-main-menu" in the search field of

"Logout

This applet provides a "start menu" for the GNOME desktop.
It features a list of favorite applications, and recently used documents.
It also integrates with the Beagle search tool to provide search facilities
from the start menu. It provides shortcuts for common system administration

Naming the gnome-main-menu "Logout" is highly confusing and should be
fixed.

[Bug 138948] Gimmie crashes on startup

2007-09-11 Thread Béné
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimmie

Gimmie crashes everytime on startup on Gutsy (as it does on any other
distro running gnome 2.19) with the following output:

Gimmie Version: 0.2.7

TypeError: () takes exactly 1 argument (2 given)

This issue is beeing tracked here:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458048 Even patch has already
been written and confirmed to work.
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458048#c1) Could you, mighty
MOTUs, please, please apply this patch to the ubuntu gutsy gimmie
package? Not having this patch included renders gimmie totally unusable
(since it won't start) and gives about five duplicate bug reports per
day to the gimmie bugzilla... (and this number is likely to increase
with widespread adoption of Gutsy...)

It would be great if you could apply this patch to the ubuntu package
directly, because right now it seems to take a long time since the fix
is actually commited upstream...

[Bug 190674] [NEW] [Gutsy] g-m-m shows up as "Logout" in gnome-app-install

2008-02-10 Thread Béné
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-main-menu

Reproduce this by entering "gnome-main-menu" in the search field of
gnome-app-install and watch the following entry appear:

"Logout

GNOME start menu applet
This applet provides a "start menu" for the GNOME desktop.
It features a list of favorite applications, and recently used documents.
It also integrates with the Beagle search tool to provide search facilities
from the start menu. It provides shortcuts for common system administration
actions and integrates with network-manager for network status reporting."

Naming the gnome-main-menu "Logout" is highly confusing and should be
fixed.

PS If this bug needs to be filed against a gnome-app-install package
please give me hint. :)

[Bug 197715] Re: Shutdown hangs on ethernet ports in Dell Inspiron E1505

2008-06-10 Thread Béné

Upon launching the
application it crashes immediately with the following output:

$f-spot --debug

** Running Mono with --debug **
Starting new FSpot server
Updating F-Spot Database

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 70219 ***

I probably have the same problem...

What I did:

1) Open project
2) Importing an mp3 song
3) Start playback
4) Move the song to the beginning of the timeline during playback (I added it,
so it started at 4 seconds...)
5) Pressing stop

Result:
Jokosher crashes as soon as I press the "stop" button with a segmentation
fault.
I attached a stack trace...

I am having the same problem. (Using a Radeon 9500 Pro)
Another workaround would be enablng "fglrx" drivers instead of "ati" and
running compiz off of XGL. For me this is not an option, because of XGL
limiations and it's huge amount of bugs...
