In a duplicate (#243595) of this bug there is this comment:

"I disabled "Dim display when idle" in both AC and BAT on Gnome Power
Managment and it works OK. No need for kernel paramaters though. I'll
keep testing."

I did this on Intrepid Alpha 1 and to my surprise i can't reproduce the
bug anymore by unplugging my powercord or leaving my laptop for a few
minutes untouched. When I enable "Reduce backlight brightness when
inactive" again, the bug is back.

Yes, it freezes on every input method (blue point, keyboard and
touchpad).

Does not work for me.

I ran Hardy with that kernel-command, unplugged the powercord, moved my
mouse and it froze for a few seconds. Every time I try I get this dmesg:

I too have an extra "touch point". However my siser has got one too on
her d630 and is not experiencing this problem (me jealous). But that is
not  a reason to not assume this bug is caused by the second-touch-
thingy.

The computer I ran Xubuntu on is now a home-server so I can't test it in
the same enviroment. However I installed xubuntu-desktop on my ubuntu-

case...

Every time I try to run Qt Designer, the splash screen appears and works 
correctly, but as soon as the program interface starts to show, the X Server 
instantly crashes and I get the kdm login screen again.
This is the first time I tried to run qt designer on this computer.

The computer has a fresh install (1 week old or so). The computer is
running kubuntu and the xubuntu-desktop package. It's a pentium 3 1.00
Ghz.
