In a duplicate (#243595) of this bug there is this comment: "I disabled "Dim display when idle" in both AC and BAT on Gnome Power Managment and it works OK. No need for kernel paramaters though. I'll keep testing." I did this on Intrepid Alpha 1 and to my surprise i can't reproduce the bug anymore by unplugging my powercord or leaving my laptop for a few minutes untouched. Does not work for me. I ran Hardy with that kernel-command, unplugged the powercord, moved my mouse and it froze for a few seconds. I too have an extra "touch point". However my siser has got one too on her d630 and is not experiencing this problem (me jealous).
