[Bug 113184] Re: firefox 100% cpu load

2008-11-16 Thread Bastian Doetsch
This problem has been fixed on my computer for quite some time now - I
guess one of the flash updates corrected it. So, if noone else has
problems anymore, this bug can be closed.

[Bug 185483] Re: Nautilus hangs on login

2008-10-28 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Hm. I think I got this situation now.

Nautilus doesn't start, even if I kill it away and it's relaunched.
Unfortunately nautilus -c doesn't yield anything useful and starting
from command-line doesn't do anything but hang as well...

Please consider re-opening this bug with a high priority, as everything
nautilus related doesn't work anymore. Feel free to ask me for issuing
commands, I'll be happy to provide more information.

I don't have python scripts, btw., don't even have a python-extensions

[Bug 117032] Re: no option to burn mp3 cd although it should be possible

2008-10-24 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Dunno, if you're addressing me, but as this bug report is 1,5 years old
the above mentioned version I run has changed.

Right now I run the most recent version distributed in the intrepid
repositories. It starts Brasero for burning but doesn't provide me with
a way to select whether I'd like mp3 or audio cd. At least I can't seem
to find it, so if it's there, a more prominent place might be good.

do nothing special causing lots of compiz effects to kick in.

Wow. That looks like quite a lot of work... Thanks for doing it. Is
there a change to have a package for hardy in the ppa? Or is it too
complicated/too much work to backport it?

Thanks again for your work!

[Bug 209181] Re: Package dependencies broken

2008-04-05 Thread Bastian Doetsch
To whom it may concern: the gutsy-backports gnucash packages from geole
work. I successfully completed HBCI jobs on three different accounts
from within gnucash.

What I did to make it work (so far I didn't experience any side-
effects):

- deactivated all hardy repositories in synaptic
- activated official gutsy repo in synaptic as third-party repo (deb
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ gutsy main universe restricted multiverse)
- added geole gutsy-backports repo (deb http://ubuntu.geole.info/
gutsy-backports universe multiverse)
- refreshed package lists
- installed aqbanking 2.3x and gnucash 2.2.4 packages
- deactivated gutsy repo
- re-activated hardy repositories.

[Bug 209181] Re: Package dependencies broken

2008-04-04 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Hi all,

so I suppose there won't be a solution to build a HBCI-enabled GnuCash
in Hardy without building and installing aqbanking2 locally in
/usr/local. Does anyone of you know, whether the gutsy packages would
work if I installed them (before I ruin my system...)?

Thanks for the swift bug fixing anyhow!

[Bug 209181] Re: Package dependencies broken

2008-04-02 Thread Bastian Doetsch
I think Reinhard is right - the ssl-exception issue in gnucash is years
old, so I doubt a license change will take place. Although the bug is
about aqbanking it popped up due to me not being able to make my private
gnucash build with hbci enabled.

So obviously I'd greatly appreciate if the aqbanking2 packages could
find their way into hardy, even though I can't supply patches or
insights which version of libgwenhyfar had to be included to enable
aqbanking2 to build. I'll try to e-mail Martin Preuss, perhaps he'll
supply a solution.

Thanks to all of you for your help so far!

[Bug 209181] Re: Package dependencies broken

2008-04-01 Thread Bastian Doetsch
So in my opinion there are the following options, as I don't think the
porting will be done anytime soon:

1) Install Gutsy aqbanking packages (and lock them in apt) and compile
gnucash 2.2.4 against it.

2) Introduce the gutsy packages with a different name and make gnucash
depend on them

3) Introduce the new packages with a different name and keep the
aqbanking packages from gutsy.

4) Keep the packages from Gutsy and upload the new packages in a later
Ubuntu release when the porting is done.

Anymore options?

I'd like option 3) best, as this doesn't obsolete the documentation
available for enabling HBCI support in gnucash. Moreover, people that
want to use the new packages would have them available in the
repository.

Okay. Here's what I have so far:

a) Everything installs fine. No apt-errors anymore.

b)Gnucash lacks its symbol in the start menu.

c) Seems to be compiled without any online modules - do I have to do it
myself or will it be enabled by your builds as gnutls is now supported
by aqbanking?

[Bug 117032] no option to burn mp3 cd although it should be possible

2007-05-26 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: banshee

Now you can see that the only available burn option is audio cd. AFAIK
banshee supports burning of data/mp3 cds, too. So where's this option?

Thanks for your help,

[Bug 103684] NetworkManager with rtl8187 crashes usb/hal

2007-04-06 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Public bug reported:

After having plugged-in my Netgear WG111v2 for some time my USB hard
disk isn't accessible anymore and the keyboard doesn't function either.
The syslog reports the following for the appropriate timespan. This
happens everytime, just the time until it happens differs. My guess it
the rtl8187 wireless driver, since it seems to be worse than in edgy (no
promiscous mode, no adhoc-mode).

[Bug 59244] Re: gnome-session logout hang with a composite manager

2006-09-21 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Hey Sebastien,

it would be nice to have it included even though it's caused by universe
packages. I haven't used compositing since compiz was unveiled, for I
have always been having trouble logging out when using compositing - at
least since breezy :-).

I think, if it is included, you guys will have another ton of testers of
compositing already within edgy, since a lot more people would install
and keep using compositing then. I guess this would benefit the
development of edgy+1 as well and so in the longer term the stability of
edgy+1.

Anyway, keep up the good work, Sebastien and Guillaume, thanks for
researching cause and patch for the problem!

Bastian

[Bug 59244] Re: gnome-session logout hang with a composite manager

2006-09-21 Thread Bastian Doetsch
Is preventing the fading effect the same as preventing the grab/ungrab
stuff? If not, I think introducing this new variable is the most
feasible short-term solution. For the long term, I agree, a cleaner
approach (like the observer or command patterns) would be preferable.
