[Bug 1523056] Re: Async loop died!Address already in use(0x62)

2015-12-06 Thread Beginner
apport information

** Description changed:

I'm new to Ubuntu I got this error [ERROR] Async loop died!
Address already in use(0x62) when i tried to connect port 6703 and 6702 .. by
searching i found that problem due to indeed a port conflict. It turns out
ephemeral port range was messed up on the machines
I tried to change number of range in /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range
to 49152 65535 but didn't work
I’m on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS via vmware if that is important to know ..
how can I extend range to 64 k or anyone have another idea about this ?

[Bug 1523056] [NEW] Async loop died!Address already in use(0x62)

2015-12-04 Thread Beginner
Public bug reported:

I'm new to Ubuntu I got this error [ERROR] Async loop died!
Address already in use(0x62) when i tried to connect port 6703 and 6702 .. by
searching i found that problem due to indeed a port conflict. It turns out
ephemeral port range was messed up on the machines
I tried to change number of range in /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range to
49152 65535 but didn't work
I’m on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS via vmware if that is important to know ..
how can I extend range to 64 k or anyone have another idea about this ?

[Bug 486142] Re: valid email being routed to Junk folder

2010-04-27 Thread beginner uk
Since last week, most of my emails are going straight into the 'junk' folder
without me wanting it or knowing it.
Also, I cannot 'move' or 'copy' them from the 'junk' folder into the 'in box'
or any other folder. I just get another one of the same email ( duplicate) back
into the 'junk' folder. I do not know how to reproduce this as it happens with
emails coming in from outside. I hope you can help. Thanks.

Hi I am new to ubuntu. I am trying to build Mbuni as gateway(ie mmsc). I

And one more question ...It is written in the document to do an automake

Is this the right place to respond to Sebastien Bacher? I would like to
say that today, on the second attempt, I was able to get the Canon MP130
All-in-One printer to print. I just went to System> Admin.> Printing >
New Printer and followed the instructions to install a driver for ip1500

[Bug 522904] [NEW] printing not readable using Canon MP130

2010-02-16 Thread beginner uk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

The first 11 lines print out. In the next lines: almost every other line or
part of line is non existent. 2 lines in the middle of the page can be read.
The rest of the page has hardly got printed. In places, the top part of the
words is printed, in other parts the lower part of the words got printed.
Difficult to guess what the words could be. Last night - The printer was
installed with bjfilter-common, bjfilter-pxmaip1500, bjfilter-pcmaip1500-lprng,
canon-ip1500. It worked last night. This morning the Update Manager did a
partial update of some items. A problem was noted with ip1500. (Don't remember
what?)
After this, 2 pages were printed off the internet. The first page was fine. On
the second page - about the middle of this page the first line of two
paragraphs did not print well. There was not much text written in the lower
part of this second page - so cannot tell if the rest of the page would have
printed ok. What would you suggest?
Background History:- The printer would not work since first installing Ubuntu
9.10 on 29 Jan.2010 onto a new hard drive, (having used Microsoft xp on the
previous hard drive). Many things were tried to get the printer to work,
unsuccessfully. Only last night, after installing the bjfilters listed above,
did the printer work. Today it does not work well as written above ( after the
updates??).
Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

[Bug 519064] Re: canon mp 130 not printing on ubuntu 9.10

2010-02-08 Thread beginner uk
Going to: system> admin.> printing - has not produced any printing. The
printer info. says 'printing' but nothing is going on.
When I 'cancel' it says 'cancelling' but nothing happens and it will not turn
off because 'printer is in use'!
I have tried it many times in different ways without success. No Canon MP 130
was listed under printer list and so no driver was listed either. The printer
is recognised but it does not print test page or anything else.
 Can anyone help, please?

Thank you Pedro for this info.
In that case there seems to be NO difference between 'move to another

I will test this out.
Thanks again.

[Bug 517306] [NEW] emails move to delete folder in error

2010-02-04 Thread beginner uk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I have just started using Ubuntu 9.10.
I have a problem in Evolution when moving emails from the 'inbox' folder to
another folder.
This is what I do :-
I right click on an email, then in the dropdown menu, I click on 'move to
folder',
then I select a folder in the little window with the list of folders and then
click on 'move'.
It seems that the emails have gone to the new folder.

But by chance, I have later found that many of the moved emails were in the
'delete' folder !
That was not the folder into which they were moved !
What do I need to do to rectify this problem?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

[Bug 323937] [NEW] NM cannot read WEP passkey from system settings

2009-02-01 Thread Beginner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Sorry for my bad english.

I've a problem by setting a system wide configuration with Network manager.
I've read the other bugs with the gnome-keyring, but i'm thinking, it is
another problem.
The problem:
NetworkManager 0.7~~svn20081020 Ubuntu 8.10
I set up a wlan connection and mark it as "system wide" configuration
Security is WEP64/128bit Key.
If i enter the Key and apply the settings, the system works fine.
After a reboot, the system doesn't connect to the network.
It ask every time again for the WEP-key (not the gnome Keyring).
If i open the file "/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/My_connection", i
can read the right settings - also the "missing" WEP key.
Starting nm-configuration-editor manually from the terminal, i get always the
following error message:
(nm-connection-editor:8867): WARNING **: Invalid setting Sicherheit des
Funknetzwerks: Invalid wireless security
until the key is re-entered.
all the other settings in the file are acepted by NM.

I have to used the gconf-editor to uncheck the
/apps/aisleriot/fullscreen to get it function normal again.

[Bug 201102] Re: gnome-panel crashes when selecting location without coordinates

2008-04-14 Thread beginner
I have last version of gnome-panel (1:2.22.1.2-0ubuntu3)

I can not add to locations anyone city of Ukraine.
Also you have to fix names of cities:
Kiev -> Kyiv
L'Viv -> L'viv

etc. You can check how to spell here
http://www.ukrcensus.gov.ua/eng/regions/

Fill free to ask me about spell of Ukrainian words.

[Bug 185244] Re: ubuntu-xen-desktop will not install

2008-04-12 Thread beginner
Sorry, during installation ubuntu-xen-desktop I had problem with package
xenman but not with linux-xen.

I resolved problem with xenman package but I went to
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/x/xenman/ and downloaded
xenman_0.6-1ubuntu2_all.deb
And after installation I already see xenman in my package list. And I installed
ubuntu-xen-desktop package successfully.

Very strange behavior of package installation system.

[Bug 157941] Re: Full screen mode in AisleRiot will not return to normal mode

2007-12-13 Thread Bonehead Beginner
I have the same problem, I don't known how I reached the state where it
is impossible to leave the maximized state.

Could this be the "path" to the problem?
1) Maximize the program.
2) Play a game, then when it ask me if I want to play one more time out quit,
choose quit.
3) Next time you start the program it starts maximized with the problem.

This was only a wild guess. (I don't use any visual effects.)
