Stillhappening; especially if a video is in a tab; ( currently using 7 open tabs) - ALso, one often has to go into system monitor to kill Firefox, as clicking the upper right "X" doesn't do it. Jan: Have noticed this bug is intermittent; when using Multiple tabs and multiple browsers ( Opera, Firefox ) However Firefox has become much more stable. This is a bug in the configuration of the application as it is shipped. to fix this bug, you go to Edit Go to Preferences Check " Use Crossfading backend" then close the application and restart it. In office, there are choices of calandar presentation database spread sheet word processor There is no clearly marked application to open PDF files, which most consider a document. the default is "open office" this crashes when attempting to open a PDF file In my opinion ( Your mileage may vary ) An application for opening PDF files should be clearly marked in Ubuntu, else Open office should show an error message and make a suggestion as to what document processor / program the user should use. I will try to get some screen shots of running tasks, as well as screen shots of firefox running multiple tabs. using Ubunto GG. As I said, it's intermittent. could be anything. [Bug 246294] [NEW] FireFox crashes when in multiple tabs and AOL is launched / used
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox ( Intermittent ) When using multiple tabs in Firefox and one tab is changed from it's original URL to AOL, Firefox can crash This is most frequent when trying to read AOL Mail.
