[Bug 1911802] [NEW] Video glitches playing hardware accelerated video through VAAPI
Public bug reported: Same issue as the post here describes: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/3681 The video is scaled unevenly in the vertical axis, with a black bar appearing in the bottom of the video window for a few frames. It happens seemingly on all videos able to be hardware decoded, upon starting the video and upon seeking. The regression happened somewhere between 20.0.8-0ubuntu1~20.04.1 and 20.2.6-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 but apparently has been fixed in mesa 20.3 ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: regression-update ** Tags added: regression-update -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1911802 Title: Video glitches playing hardware accelerated video through VAAPI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1911802/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This patch file, from Zesty's package, along with the dkms.conf which patches it, makes this work on Xenial. ** Patch added: "0023-add-support-for-Linux-4.11.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1713638/+attachment/4951910/+files/0023-add-support-for-Linux-4.11.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1713638 Title: bcmwl-kernel-source 6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu1~1.1: bcmwl kernel module failed to build [error: ‘struct net_device’ has no member named ‘last_rx’] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1713638/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Replacing the dkms.conf with this version, and putting the above patch into the patches folder, then rebuilding the module using dkms solves the issue. ** Attachment added: "dkms.conf" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1713638/+attachment/4951911/+files/dkms.conf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1713638 Title: bcmwl-kernel-source 6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu1~1.1: bcmwl kernel module failed to build [error: ‘struct net_device’ has no member named ‘last_rx’] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1713638/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
