[Bug 1308105] Re: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled
I tried xfce4-settings 4.12.1-11 as mentioned in #133 and indeed it "works", X does not crash. However, the set screen resolution is lost. [Bug 1597009] [NEW] service LCDd does not execute properly at boot
Public bug reported: My HTPC computer case has a iMonLCD display with IRC sensor. I have edited /etc/LCDd.conf to shut down the display backlight at boot. [Bug 1510281] Re: Screen resolution not saved between sessions
An observation: I have two login accounts to the system, both have personalized desktop backgrounds. Normally, the greeter assigns the selected user's desktop background before login. When logging out now, the login greeter flickers and the default bluish desktop image is shown behind the login dialog, not my normal desktop image. If I log in in this mode, I get the wrong desktop resolution. However, If I in the greeter dialog select the other user the selected user's desktop background returns behind the greeter dialog. If I log in in this state the correct desktop resolution is used. Summary: If I am able to make my own desktop image to show up behind the login greeter dialog by re-browsing the user list, I can log in with the correct screen resolution! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1510281 Title: Screen resolution not saved between sessions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1510281/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1313443] [NEW] Cannot restore HDMI display after regular TV session
Public bug reported: I use my system connected to a TV screen via HDMI. The TV screen is also used as a regular TV, input selected to be either HDMI or "antenna". After upgrading to 14.04 LTS, after a while of watching regular TV and going back to HDMI display, the TV reports "No signal". I try to revive by moving the mouse or press the keyboard, but nothing happens. I try to reconnect the HDMI cable, but no change. The keyboard and mouse are wireless with a USB reciever/transmitter from Logitech. The only way to restore operation is by forced power recycling, or connect remotely via ssh and do "reboot". I have tried to set the screensaver and power manager so that the computer never idles, but there is no improvement. I have had some trouble with the NVIDIA driver, the HDMI sound configuration is not stable. HDMI sound units come and go between boots. Maybe it is connected. Nothing of this happened in the previous release, 13.04LTS. The desktop display was readily available after setting the HDMI input selector on the TV after watching regular channels. bnilsson@HTPC:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Release:14.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:0.220.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-24.46-lowlatency 3.13.9 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-24-lowlatency x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CrashDB: ubuntu CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Sun Apr 27 22:50:58 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-08-24 (246 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Studio 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130424) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: ubuntu-release-upgrader Symptom: dist-upgrade UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to trusty on 2014-04-18 (9 days ago) VarLogDistupgradeTermlog: ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug dist-upgrade trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313443 Title: Cannot restore HDMI display after regular TV session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1313443/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1176226] Re: lcdproc for imon_lcd stopped working
This is issue probably connected to Bug #1216366, which I reported later than this issue. The device used by lcdproc, /dev/lcd0, if changing between /dv/lcd0 and /dev/lcd1 between boots, either toggling or random. If /dev/lcd0 is set in LCDd.conf and the existing device is /dev/lcd1, of course nothing works. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1176226 Title: lcdproc for imon_lcd stopped working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1176226/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1216366] Re: /dev/lcd* device name is not predictable between boots
To clarify further: I have set /etc/LCDd.conf to turn off my imonlcd backlight at boot. When it does not do that, I check what device name (/dev/lcd0 or /dev/lcd1) I have this time, and it is then always different than what I assigned in LCDd.conf. If I then modify the imonlcd device entry in /etc/LCDd.conf to the current device name and then restart LCDd by "/etc/init.d/LCDd restart" the imonlcd backlight turns off as it should. I am pretty sure now that the the device name toggles between /dev/lcd0 and /dev/lcd1 between boots. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1216366 Title: /dev/lcd* device name is not predictable between boots To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lcdproc/+bug/1216366/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The package is in a bad inconsistent state - you should reinstall before you try to remove it". [Bug 1216366] [NEW] /dev/lcd* device name is not predictable between boots
Public bug reported: I am using an imonlcd device in Ubuntu Studio 13.04. My hardware is a Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H with a Athlon X2, in an Antec Veris box. After upgrading from 12.04 to 13.04 I found that the imonlcd function was unreliable, and the reason was that the device name /dev/lcd* was sometimes not the same as referred to in the LCDd.conf. [Bug 1166305] [NEW] [Audigy2 - E-mu 1010 PCIe [MAEM8986], playback] No sound at all
Public bug reported: This Creative Labs EMU1212m PCIe is a brand new (March-2013) purchase, a EMU1010 PCIe card + a 0202 DAC/ADC daughter board. I have tested an older EMU1010 PCI card with the same 0202 DAC/ADC card indivvidual and got sound immidiately. Alsamixer was correctly preconfigured, I did not have to change anything. I have tested the 1010 PCIe + 0202 combo under WIndows to test for any hardware problems, no problem there. In alsamixer, I have routed DSP 0 - 31 to 0202DAC without having any output from any DSP selected. The EMU1212PCIe has apparently been reported to work, so this may be some new "firmware revision(?)" that is different from previous. In the system listing proivided you may see that the the EMU1010 PCI is physically present in the slot. However, the interconnecting flat cable from the 0202DAC/ADC is presently connected to the EMU1010 PCIe card. Finally, it is important to mention that Capture works on both cards. It is only 0202 DAC playback that fails for the EMU1212 PCIe. I have not tested SPDIF output. Good Luck. [Bug 726737] Re: 15c2:0038 imon kernel driver, endless remote control repeats
Sorry about my confusion, but does this relate to 10.10 Maverick only? The problem was fixed in 11.04. I can download, install and test 10.10 if it would help anyone, no problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/726737 Title: 15c2:0038 imon kernel driver, endless remote control repeats To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/726737/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 977438] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 gnome classic panel displayed on full screen videos
I use gnome-panel with 12.04LTS. When using fullscreen Adobe Flash player I see the top menubar plus the bottom starus bar, plus I get some strange pointer behaviour (cannot reach the bottom part of the screen) when I use XBMC mediacenter. However, all these problems went away when I logged in using "Gnome Classic (no effects)" instead of "Gnome Classic". I am using ATI Radeom HD 4250 with the proprietary driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/977438 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 gnome classic panel displayed on full screen videos To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/977438/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 786946] Re: Natty: Acer Veritron N270G screen resolution
I am hesitant to upgrade, since this system is in a "production environment". Previous upgrades to 11.10 have in most cases been disastrous for us. So I will wait until I am able to have a replacement system prepared for this task. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/786946 Title: Natty: Acer Veritron N270G screen resolution To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/786946/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 786946] Re: Natty: Acer Veritron N270G screen resolution
I see the word LVDS being used in the Gdmlog.txt I should look in the BIOS to see if it can be disabled. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/786946 Title: Natty: Acer Veritron N270G screen resolution -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 786946] Re: Natty: Acer Veritron N270G screen resolution
Workaround found: Disable the "Laptop" screen in Monitors. Save as default. Now the VGA-connected Philips 19" LCD works at the desired 1280x1024 resolution. Works, but it is hardly the clean solution. Why does Natty think the Acer Veriton N270G is a laptop in the first place? It is a "Nettop", a minimal case with reasonable performance. The Atom D510 processor is common in laptops, yes, but there must be some other reason. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/786946 Title: Natty: Acer Veritron N270G screen resolution -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
