[Bug 1927689] [NEW] Paper height HP OfficeJet 150
Public bug reported: The height of the paper size is limited to letter size: > scanimage -- help -d hpaio:/usb/Officejet_150_Mobile_L511?serial=MY2A9720DR ... -y 0..277.707mm [277.707] Height of scan-area. ... When I try to scan a A4 document, the bottom of the page is "cut off". But as there is the limit, it is also not possible to set A4 as size: > scanimage -x 210 -y 296 -d > hpaio:/usb/Officejet_150_Mobile_L511?serial=MY2A9720DR scanimage: setting of option --br-y failed (Invalid argument) I would like to look for some more details, where the limitation comes from. Especially, as the OfficeJet 150 has and ADF, which should not have any trouble scanning pages longer than letter size. Where is the paper size limitation set? Where are the properties for the device (hpaio:/usb/Officejet_150_Mobile_L511?serial=MY2A9720DR) stored? I agree, that the issue is about small "a" and capital "A". [Bug 964705] Re: System policy prevents modification of network settings for all users
As this and related bugs show: Non-Admin users can't even connect to wireless networks, not already created. This is neither an opinion nor a "wish". Non-Admin users should at least be able to connect to wireless networks. The cause of all effects here: Unchecking the "available to all users" box. But the intended functionally should be to click on a available network connection in the network-manager-applet and just connect to the wireless network. This doesn't work at all. Therefore I would consider it as a bug. Even if the intention is, not to allow normal users to modify system wide connections (which is pretty reasonable), the effects it causes are bugs, which lead (for non admin users) to the inability to use the uses in an adequate way. Furthermore, according to the status, Debian and OpenSuse got the issue fixed. ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Opinion => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/964705 Title: System policy prevents modification of network settings for all users To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/network-manager/+bug/964705/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 959352] Re: Ephemeral containers have "/rootfs" prefix in /proc/self/maps entries
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected precise staging ** Description changed: Ephemeral containers (but not non-ephemeral ones) have all of their /proc/*/maps entries prefixed with "/rootfs". One problem this causes is that graphviz uses /proc/self/maps to locate its plugins. That means that some of the plugins can not be loaded. To reproduce the problem with dot, run this command: dot -Tcmapx < /dev/null No output is expected, however because of the bug this output is produced: Format: "cmapx" not recognized. Use one of: dia hpgl mif mp pcl pic vtx A workaround for the problem with graphviz is to make the plugins available at the path it is expecting: mkdir -p /rootfs/usr/lib ln -s /usr/lib/graphviz /rootfs/usr/lib/graphviz + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + ApportVersion: 1.95-0ubuntu1 + Architecture: i386 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=2c5f282a-e713-4ae0-a940-87a40efd050f + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Release i386 (20110427.1) + MachineType: LENOVO 4313CTO + Package: lxc + ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-20-generic-pae root=UUID=8469c78f-d0fc-4564-a009-eed59bd1fdff ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-20.33-generic-pae 3.2.12 + RfKill: + 0: phy0: Wireless LAN + Soft blocked: no + Hard blocked: no + StagingDrivers: mei + Tags: precise staging + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-20-generic-pae i686 + UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-01-24 (63 days ago) + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout libvirtd lpadmin plugdev sambashare + dmi.bios.date: 10/26/2010 + dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.bios.version: 6MET81WW (1.41 ) + dmi.board.name: 4313CTO + dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.board.version: Not Available + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.chassis.version: Not Available + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr6MET81WW(1.41):bd10/26/2010:svnLENOVO:pn4313CTO:pvrThinkPadT510:rvnLENOVO:rn4313CTO:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: + dmi.product.name: 4313CTO + dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T510 + dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO ** Attachment added: "AcpiTables.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/959352/+attachment/2955072/+files/AcpiTables.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/959352 Title: Ephemeral containers have "/rootfs" prefix in /proc/self/maps entries To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/959352/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 874434] Re: Can no longer tab between file/app results in Dash
I will claim that this is a regression, since 1) it is a change in behavior and 2) the previous behavior is widespread in other interfaces. Use one of: dia hpgl mif mp pcl pic vtx A workaround for the problem with graphviz is to make the plugins available at the path it is expecting: mkdir -p /rootfs/usr/lib ln -s /usr/lib/graphviz /rootfs/usr/lib/graphviz ** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/959352 Title: Ephemeral containers have "/rootfs" prefix in /proc/self/maps entries To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/959352/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 951464] Re: Wireless connections in network-manager-applet not editable
> I fixed my problems by deleting these network and readded them again. True, this is a work-arround. But you have to enter the SSID. Most Ubuntu users would not expect the aboved described behavior, which is especially anouing, when there is a "cyrpical" network-name like "Net-343-St-12". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/951464 Title: Wireless connections in network-manager-applet not editable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/951464/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 951464] Re: Wireless connections in network-manager-applet not editable
Simmilar for me: It only appers with Ubuntu 12.04 Beta. But it would be really announing if this bug would ship out with 12.04 LTS. The bug does not apply on all wireless connections. For me the connection was a "eduroam" network (roaming network in the education and research area in whole Germany). In order to connect to the network, you need to configure a "WPA & WPA2 Enterprise Security" with a "Protected EAP". In order to do so, it schould be possible to edit the connection, which is currently not possible.

[Bug 949956] Re: lxc-start-ephemeral keeps same MAC address, and so same IP address, as base instance
I've submitted an MP (https://code.launchpad.net/~benji/ubuntu/precise/lxc/bug-949956/+merge/96601) to fix this. The hostname and /etc/hosts munging is already done in lxc-start- ephemeral (and arguably in a superior way), so I left that part alone. ** Branch linked: lp:~benji/ubuntu/precise/lxc/bug-949956 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/949956 Title: lxc-start-ephemeral keeps same MAC address, and so same IP address, as base instance To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/949956/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
