The global is another change all together.

EDIT: Looking at them again, you're talking about 3 (and you replying

broken, but these are ideas (albeit some can be broken or not), so

When I attempt to modify the screen resolution and I click on "apply",
Nvidia-settings hangs up and a popup windows say that it can't parse the

[Bug 397729] Re: Firefox 3.0.11 crash with Realplayer plugin

2009-07-13 Thread Bigbiz
Hi, thanks for interest and please excuse me for my poor English.
I tried to the site http://www.tgr.rai.it/SITOTG/HPTGR and I tried to see TGR
or meteo service with a standard installation of firefox. I see in
about:plugins that version of plugin is Realplayer 9 through mplayerplug-in
3.55.
I tried also to see that site using firefox 3.5 and the program claimed for a
realplayer plugin and redirected me to RealPlayer site. I installed it
(version 11) but it didn't run.
When I visit that site firefox (3.0.11) crashes immediately (without any crash
report) ad if I run it in a terminal window the respons is "segmentation fault".
How can I help you to investigate this bug?

[Bug 376494] [NEW] cgmail doesn't run on Jaunty

2009-05-14 Thread Bigbiz
Public bug reported:

Yesterday I upgraded my Intrepid to Jaunty.
On Intrepid I installed cgmail but now on Jaunty this program doesn't run.
If I type cgmail in a terminal window the output is this:

$ cgmail
Ignoring account: 'username'
Ignoring account: 'type'
Ignoring account: 'username'
Ignoring account: 'username'
Ignoring account: 'type'
Ignoring account: 'username'
Ignoring account: 'username'
Ignoring account: 'type'
Ignoring account: 'username'

and then the cgmail window pop up but the program is unusable.

If I try to start the cgmailservice program this is the result:

$ cgmailservice

object.__init__() takes no parameters

I tried to remove and reinstall it but without results.

On my PC I have installed Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 32 bit - kernel
2.6.28-12-generic. All seems to work very well except cgmail and
cgmailservice.

[Bug 199041] Re: OpenOffice.org calc problem with window's decoration

2008-03-07 Thread Bigbiz
No, it's not a Compiz issue. I started an emergency Gnome session
(without start-up scripts and without Compiz in memory) and Openoffice
(1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3) it's still without window's decoration.

[Bug 147623] Re: [amd64 + nvidia 8xxx] usplash shows nothing

2008-03-03 Thread Bigbiz
IT WORKS!!! IT WORKS!!!

The solution of Jan Rathmann works on Hardy 64bit with nVidia 8500!

1) added vga16fb, fbcon and vesafb to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules
2) outcommented the blacklisted vesafb and vga16fb in
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer
3) added "vga=795" (1280x1024) to the kernel options in /boot/grub/menu.lst
(and "splash" option if not present)
4) modified setting usplash resolution to the same value in /etc/usplash.conf
(xres=1280 and Yres=1024)
5) sudo update-initramfs -u

Now usplash wors perfectly!

Thanks Jan!
