[Bug 386784] [NEW] Stripy display after switching to virtual console and back

2009-06-13 Thread Bill Farmer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome

After having switched to a virtual console with control-alt-F1 and back
with alt-F7 the display has attractive vertical coloured stripes rather
like corduroy. It appears to be an exclusive or pattern on every eighth
pixel. It's impossible to be sure without a screendump. This can only be
cleared by switching back to the virtual console and issuing a sudo kill
-HUP to the Xorg process. The driver obviously thinks the display is
fine, a screendump is fine once the display has been restarted. I will
attempt to attach a photograph.

OS version:
Ubuntu 9.04

Driver version:
xserver-xorg-video-openchrome:
  Installed: 1:0.2.903+svn713-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1:0.2.903+svn713-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 1:0.2.903+svn713-1ubuntu1 0
500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Hardware version:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. K8M890CE/K8N890CE
[Chrome 9] (rev 11)

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 87262] Re: Virtual PC and feisty fawn

2007-05-28 Thread Bill Farmer
How did you calculate the offset to the patched code in the patch script above?
I want to apply the same patch to the new security update kernel 2.6.20-16.28
which has been published. I can see how to update the script apart from
calculating the offset.

[Bug 108382] Re: ps2 mouse does not work in Feisty FINAL VERSION

The last kernel did NOT solve the problem on my ASUS KN97-X motherboard, Intel
440FX chipset. Details above.

[Bug 108382] Re: ps2 mouse does not work in Feisty FINAL VERSION

2007-05-21 Thread Bill Farmer
I have now tested linux-image-2.6.20-16-generic mentioned above. This does not
fix the mouse problem. Have also attached dmesg.log.

2007-05-21 Thread Bill Farmer
I have also had this problem, not with a SiS based, system, but with an Intel
440FX. ASUS KN97-X motherboard. The unsupported-patch-for-87262 mentioned above
has temporarily fixed the problem. lspci:
