Public bug reported: 16.04 gets a messed up fs, so that fsck has to be run every few hours. symptom is other SW packages don't run properly. re-boot exit says clean. But upon re-entry, fsck is needed. Would like to see a warning, and choice, upon exit, that the fs is messed up and would like to fix it now or when re-booting, or re-starting the system. ps. fixing the origin of the messed up fs is preferred, but that seems to be too far out... Therefore it was not clean to begin with and thus no warning, or indications that anything had gone wrong until after a reboot had started. fsck is realativly fast, compared to a reboot or startup, but does add time. I might rather clean uo the files when shuting down or rebooting, or in the middle of doing something like starting chrome when it does not start. ps. I have not figured out what causes the file to get corrupted, but it happens every few hours of human computer time. for example, a long day at the computer, and there are a few times of fsck. a brief evening session and probably not for a couple of days. My suspicion is that some routine/s is/are not shutting down correctly. [Bug 1673322] [NEW] GUI format problem with FB comment window using Firefox with unbuntu 16.04
Public bug reported: using firefox to browse the news, that I then share to FB, and I get a FB post page that as I type a long response, note LONG response, that pushes the post button off page and I cannot find a way to pan it back on page to click it. So somewhere, FB, Firefox, Unbuntu, have missed the window sizing to stay on page. I use numerous computers, and browsers, and OS's, and only here does it happen. ps. spell check suggestions will not stay up, flash and disappear. I am beginning to think that 16.04 broke more than it fixed. - Bill ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: firefox 52.0+build2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-66.87-generic 4.4.44 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-66-generic x86_64 AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.5 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: bill 1720 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: bill 1720 F pulseaudio BuildID: 20170303012758 Channel: Unavailable CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Thu Mar 16 00:02:19 2017 Extensions: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing ForcedLayersAccel: False IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback IncompatibleExtensions: Unavailable (corrupt or non-existant compatibility.ini or extensions.sqlite) InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-01-16 (58 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160420.1) IpRoute: default via 192.168.42.129 dev enp0s19f2u2 proto static metric 100 169.254.0.0/16 dev enp0s19f2u2 scope link metric 1000 192.168.42.0/24 dev enp0s19f2u2 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.42.96 metric 100 Locales: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing Plugins: Shockwave Flash - /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so PrefSources: prefs.js ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash Profiles: Profile0 (Default) - LastVersion=52.0/20170303012758 RfKill: 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: yes RunningIncompatibleAddons: False SourcePackage: firefox Themes: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 01/28/2011 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: F.26 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: 1444 dmi.board.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.board.version: 69.37 dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.chassis.version: N/A dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvrF.26:bd01/28/2011:svnHewlett-Packard:pnHPG62NotebookPC:pvr0592110003242710010020100:rvnHewlett-Packard:rn1444:rvr69.37:cvnHewlett-Packard:ct10:cvrN/A: dmi.product.name: HP G62 Notebook PC dmi.product.version: 0592110003242710010020100 dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1673322 Title: GUI format problem with FB comment window using Firefox with unbuntu 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1673322/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
