[Bug 1725116] Re: package cracklib-runtime 2.9.2-5build1 failed to install/upgrade: dependency problems - leaving triggers unprocessed

2017-10-22 Thread BlueRainbow
Happened to me with the Ubuntu MATE upgrade as well. I handled things
the shell way because I dislike having stuff change on me as I update.

If this bug is encountered, the est way around it after `do-package-
upgrade` does `sudo dpkg --configure -a` is `sudo apt upgrade -y` and
sit tight during the upgrade process for further errors if encountered
Fortunately I encountered none after this.

[Bug 1458747] [NEW] oxygen-cursor-theme has broken icons

2015-05-26 Thread BlueRainbow
Public bug reported:

14.04

Assume this also affects oxygen-cursor-theme-extra

A normal session was not specified; The behaviour being reported
occurred when using the MATE desktop environment.

All resize icons do not work out of the box; The fix I found, until a better
solution can be discovered is to make the following links in each directory
within /usr/share/icons/oxy-*:
size_fdiag top_left_corner
size_fdiag bottom_right_corner
size_bdiag top_right_corner
size_bdiag bottom_left_corner
size_hor left_side
size_hor right_side
size_ver top_side
size_ver bottom_side

I used soft links (ln -s), use best judgement when repackaging the
cursor themes.

[Bug 308898] Re: mouse cursor theme oxygen changes over window border

2015-05-26 Thread BlueRainbow
I made a duplicate about this earlier. it seems so easy for the devs to
crank out a basic Bash script to fix it and repack.

[Bug 663494] [NEW] Acer Aspire - Keystroke for adjusting brightness recognized, but action fails.

2010-10-19 Thread BlueRainbow
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

I expected to see the brightness control actually work without error on
my Acer Aspire 5810TZ (Not sure if it matters), but instead I see it
wanting to work, but unable to. Brightness adjust on unplug from AC
power also fails, and when rebooting, looking at the terminal during
shutdown, I get ACPI: failed to adjust brightness.

Not really sure where to go from here, except to file a bug report and
hope someone has something helpful and of use to my problem. Not sure
also if this applies to all Acer laptop models in the Aspire line, all
laptops or only my model.

I am using the current stable release of Ubuntu (10.10 Maverick) and
the latest version of acpi-support as of this writing. And just like on
a similar report with an IMB thinkpad, brightness only changes when I
reboot. But a peculiar thing: Brightness adjust on unplug works before I
boot into Ubuntu; The problem only exists post-boot, which I find oddly
strange and annoying, since I would love to be able to just keep my
laptop on and not have to log back into everything in order to keep the
backlight low.

Sorry about that. But the brightness, as I said before, the brightness
changing because of AC happens only on pre-boot. Never had a problem
when Vista was working on this machine.
