I have the same problem, would like jinterface as standard in the erlang package.
For what it's worth I attempted to build erlang from the otp_src_R12B-4 release, but had problems with ncurses, m4 and then hipe started complaining hipe/hipe_mkliterals.c:394: error: ‘X86_LEAF_WORDS’ undeclared here (not in a function) hipe/hipe_mkliterals.c:395: error: ‘X86_NR_ARG_REGS’ undeclared here (not in a function) This is where I am currently stuck.
