[Bug 1772954] Re: libfbclient2 is really libfbclient3?
This problem affects me too. Hi KennoVO, My xorg.conf has Option Emulate3Buttons no still has the problem. [Bug 54191] Re: Mouse button click delayed
I am running lucid (10.04.1), not maverick. The Emulate3Buttons option is in an InputDevice section, not InputClass. I do not know if that matters. man page for xorg.conf says: the following boolean option values are recognised as FALSE: 0, off, false, no So I think I'm ok using no instead of off. [Bug 54191] Re: Mouse button click delayed
I have two mouse-like devices on my system, a logitech mouse and a FingerWorks iGesture pad. Both of these worked great under Ubuntu 7.04. This weekend I upgraded to 8.10, and now the iGesture pad has trouble with click and drag. I have tried adjusting drag threshold and so forth, but still I have to wait 1/2 second after 'clicking' with the iGesture pad before I can move it to make a selection. This problem exists always, no matter how long the system has been running. my Xorg.0.log file shows that evdev is being used, but it says it only detects 1 mouse button on the iGesture pad. I'm sorry I do not know what it used to detect under 7.04 I've attached my Xorg.0.log look at this part: (II) config/hal: Adding input device FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB (**) FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB: always reports core events (**) FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB: Device: /dev/input/event5 (II) FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB: Found x and y relative axes (II) FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB: Found 1 mouse buttons (II) FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB: Configuring as mouse (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB (type: MOUSE) (**) FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB: YAxisMapping: buttons 4 and 5 (**) FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB: EmulateWheelButton: 4, EmulateWheelInertia: 10, EmulateWheelTimeout : 200 but hmm, xinput says: FingerWorks iGesture Pad USB id=10 [XExtensionPointer] Num_buttons is 32 Num_axes is 2 Mode is Relative Motion_buffer is 256 Axis 0 : Min_value is -1 Max_value is -1 Resolution is 1 Axis 1 : Min_value is -1 Max_value is -1 Resolution is 1 (32 buttons, not 1) ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20216125/Xorg.0.log -- Mouse button click delayed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/54191 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 200392] Re: Extreme memory leak in Pidgin when attempting to play sound
I am seeing the same problem with 8.10 PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEMTIME+ COMMAND 21084 bkc 20 0 2995m 64m 23m S0 0.8 0:29.14 gaim in my case, there isn't any process with 'pulse' in it, and audacious fails to run w/ pulse output (but works with alsa) I just upgraded from 7.04 to 8.10 over the weekend, so still working out the bugs.. Now I have killed and restarted it (as pidgin). Here's something interesting. go to preferences, sounds. Change 'method' to ALSA and then click the preview button a bunch of times, watch top report.. memory usage doesn't change too much. Now change method to automatic. Every time I click preview, top shows a 10megabyte increase in VIRT for pidgin. change method back to alsa and click preview a few more times, memory does not increase. meanwhile pulse doesn't seem to be running (I guess). syslog shows this: ec 2 22:51:12 fire pulseaudio[19617]: ltdl-bind-now.c: Failed to find original dlopen loader. Dec 2 22:51:12 fire pulseaudio[19617]: pid.c: Stale PID file, overwriting. [Bug 55739] Re: No more mouse events after using rdesktop
I have this same problem, mouse cursor moves but no longer responds to click action. I was running 7.04 w/ ion3 on this hardware (2 nvidia cards, 4 monitors). yesterday I went through 2 upgrades to get to 8.10, also switched to awesome window manager (both 2.x from repository and now trying 3.x from source). Attached is my xorg.conf I have experienced lockups trying to drag vmware workstation from one screen to another, or just dragging firefox or even just fiddling around trying to learn awesome. to recover I have to login via ssh and restart gdm (ctrl-alt-backspace doesn't seem to work for me anymore) I'll try xscreensaver next time. ** Attachment added: xorg.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20106836/xorg.conf -- No more mouse events after using rdesktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/55739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 55739] Re: No more mouse events after using rdesktop
doh, just locked up again. I started vmware workstation 6.5.1 and then started a virtual machine. As the virtual machine came up, the mouse lockup occured again. Interestingly, the keyboard is also affected. For example, given screens 1 to 4, vmware is running on screen 4, I have some xterms in screen 3. the keyboard focus appears to stay on screen 3, where I can use META3 (left alt) + j to toggle between the two visible xterms (using awesome 3), but META3-1 (2 3 4 etc) does not change tag selection, and CTRL- META3-k does not move to the next screen. strange that some key combinations work, others do not. As I move the mouse cursor around, when I get to screen 1, the cursor changes from pointer to a text cursor on certain areas of the screen. There seemed to be at least two horizontal rectangles (not full width) on screen 1 where the cursor changed to a text cursor. The shapes of the areas did not look like any other window on any screen. I was able to use gnome-screensaver-command -l to get all black screens, but I could not use the keyboard to get logged back in. Pressing enter did nothing, pressing escape would beep at me. I ssh'd in and used gnome-screensaver-command -d to turn off the screensaver, the mouse and keyboard are still messed up. I was able to shutdown vmware, but the mouse did not return to normal. I had to restart gdm. I guess I will try switching to metacity for a while in case it's an awesome thing, though I doubt it is. btw, starting that vmware instance pegs the cpu % use and cpu load goes up and up, lots of wait state time due to a not-so-fast raid 1 configuration I think. Maybe that is a clue.. I am using a usb logitech mouse and a usb fingerworks igesture pad. Unplugging the igesture pad and replugging did not fix the problem, though the event was noted in xorg.log in real-time. -- No more mouse events after using rdesktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/55739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Need to clarify that screen 1 did not have any windows on it, so having the mouse cursor change from pointer to text cursor on that screen is pretty strange. -- No more mouse events after using rdesktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/55739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
