[Bug 1832956] [NEW] Instant Messenger (KTelepathy) unable to sign in to Google/Hangouts account
Public bug reported: After upgrading from Cosmic to Disco, I am unable to go Online with my Google/Hangouts acccount in KDE Telepathy. This is kde-telepathy 15.08.3 from Disco. I also tried upgrading to Plasma 5.16 / KDE Applications 19.04.2 (using the Kubuntu Backports PPA) in hopes of it being fixed there but still have the same problem. I also performed a new installation of KDE on another computer (still using Plasma 5.16 / Apps 19.04) but still have the same problem. In the case of the new installation, no other accounts are configured. Setup of the Google account works okay other than having to manually accept Google's certificate (due to an unrelated error with GnuTLS negotiation and "No SNI provided"). Also, to be clear, this does not appear to be related to another loosely-related bug which I've also contributed to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/meta-kde- telepathy/+bug/1070873 So this seems to be an issue with the application/library and not my configuration. [Bug 1805024] [NEW] Ctrl+Scroll zoom with touchpad in Dolphin is erratic
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 18.10 Cosmic (with kubuntu-desktop), Dolphin (4:18.04.3-0ubuntu2) on a Dell Latiude 7490 using the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics driver. Using a Ctrl+Scroll with a mouse to zoom works normally, but doing the same with a touchpad (configured for edge scrolling or two-finger scrolling) appears to follow different rules which causes it to not work properly. More specifically, the zoom doesn't seem to activate unless the scroll speed is excessively fast. Scrolling, itself, works fine everywhere else in both edge- and two- finger- mode. Ctrl+Scroll zooming works fine in all other programs (except Chrome where they've stupidly decided to disable it and require keyboard Ctrl-/+). [Bug 1471723] Re: systemctl completion is slow
I suppose it depends on your definition of 'instantly'. While it doesn't always take 5+ seconds for me, it does take around 3 seconds and sometimes longer in Bionic (18.04.1 LTS). Any other completion on my system happens in an estimated 25-100ms. Even completing 'apt-cache show', which returns over 64,000 results, still happens in less than a quarter second. [Bug 1752741] [NEW] Changing "Show and configure virtual connections" requires a restart of plasmashell
Public bug reported: The "Show and configure virtual connections" option of plasma-nm's Network Settings does not take effect for the plasmoid until after a restart of plasmashell. The ability to up/down and configure "virtual" connections like Bridge, VLAN, etc. via GUI was removed in a previous release of KDE but will be re-added in Bionic (18.04) via plasma-nm>=4:5.11.5-0ubuntu1 via the "Show and configure virtual connections" checkbox in the Network Settings of the plasmoid. While that checkbox has the immediate effect of appearing in any newly spawned Connections dialog, it requires a restart of plasmashell (or logout/login or reboot) before the plasmoid itself will see the effect. I contend that it should immediately change the type of connections shown in the plasmoid and not require a restart. ** Affects: plasma-nm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bond bridge connection network plasma plasmashell restart settings team type virtual vlan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1752741 Title: Changing "Show and configure virtual connections" requires a restart of plasmashell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-nm/+bug/1752741/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1637878] Re: Network Manager does not show VLANs
The issue is still present in 17.10. The "Network settings..." right-click-menu item is not present and, thus, "virtual" connections like VLAN, Bridge, etc. cannot be seen, activated, or configured via GUI. On a separate (but related) note: checking the "Show and configure virtual connections" option in the network settings dialog takes immediate effect for the Connections dialog but requires a restart of plasmashell before it takes effect for the plasmoid left-click popup. I consider this is a separate bug, though, and I'll file it against 18.04 since it seems to still be present there as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1637878 Title: Network Manager does not show VLANs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-nm/+bug/1637878/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1637878] Re: Network Manager does not show VLANs
This problem has gotten even worse in Zesty. In addition to VLANs no longer being available in the Plasma Network Manager applet (plasma-nm), they are now no longer available in the connections editor either. In Yakkety, I was at least able to open the connections editor and enable the VLAN connection from there. Now there is no option to do that nor is there an option to add a VLAN connection type. I am now required to use the command-line (nmcli) to manage VLAN connections. This seems like a huge step backward. ** No longer affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1637878 Title: Network Manager does not show VLANs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-nm/+bug/1637878/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1637878] Re: Network Manager does not show VLANs
Alex, were you able to use VLANs prior this issue? I think I incorrectly attributed the problem to network-manager when it may simply be KDE Plasma's network manager applet. My stating that it affected Gnome and Cinnamon was based on my presumption that those environments had shown VLANs like Plasma did, but I'm not certain they ever did. When I simply downgraded plasma-nm to version 5.5.5, I was able to see my VLANs again. Looking through that package's patches from there to 5.7.5, I saw the relevant changes that caused this issue but don't quite understand why those changes were made or if this symptom was intentional or not. I haven't looked through the changelogs for Gnome's NM applet, but it could be the case that the same types of patches were applied there around the same timeframe. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1637878 Title: Network Manager does not show VLANs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1637878/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1637878] [NEW] Network Manager does not show VLANs
Public bug reported: In a fresh install of Ubuntu Yakkety, VLAN connection types are no longer offered as potential connections in the various GUI applets even after the parent Ethernet connection is established. I've checked in KDE Plasma (plasma-nm 5.7.5-0ubuntu1), Gnome (1.2.4-0ubuntu2), and Cinnamon. However, they are shown and usable via the command-line utility, nmcli. So I have to assume that the problem is in the libnm0 library in some sort of function that tests what connections should be available based upon what parent connection is established. [Bug 1053443] Re: Unable to print to Konica Minolta C552DS printer - job history
This was affecting me as well with a Konica Minolta bizhub C360. The problem seems to be in the cups-filters package. As per the recommendation in a post (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1226864#p1226864), I pinned cups-filters to the version in precise-updates and it fixed the problem. Yah! No more angry looks from coworkers! I added precise-updates back into my sources.list and pinned cups-filters to version 1.0.18-0ubuntu0.1. After reinstalling the pinned version, the only difference in packages was the addition of its older dependency, libpoppler19 (and its dependency libtiff4). So that tells me the problem must be in cups-filters (or maybe libpoppler19 or libtiff4). To anybody else wanting to try: I attempted what I believe to be a safe downgrade by first uninstalling it, pinning it, then reinstalling it. However, in retrospect that didn't seem to be necessary in this case; simply pinning it and updating would probably work fine (however I don't recommend anybody ever attempt downgrades unless they know exactly what they are doing ... and I don't). Restarting GDM (/etc/init.d/gdm restart) does not help. I confirmed that the computer is not locked-up. Booting works fine. Hibernate works fine. [Bug 557772] [NEW] macbook pro accelerometer axes are swapped
Public bug reported: At least two axes of the accelerometer seem to be flipped on my MacBook Pro 5,3 in Karmic (2.6.31-20). Here is the output of /sys/devices/platform/applesmc.768/position for each of the indicated orientations (the label indicates which edge/face of the notebook is facing towards the sky and is in respect to the base of the notebook since I believe that is where the accelerometer is located): (-253,-2,-18) Back (262,-2,-5) Front (-3,254,-53)Left (-21,-251,-15) Right (-11,3,-254)Top/Keyboard (-7,2,260) Bottom The axes seem to be in the order Y,X,Z when I believe they should be X,Y,Z. And one may be inverted. This was tested with Neverball and Extreme Tux Racer. In each game, here are the results I observe: Raising the left side of the notebook gives the results I would expect from raising the rear (hinge-area) of the notebook, and vice versa. I'm not sure if the Z (top/bottom) axis is mixed into the equation or not. There do not seem to be any options to the applesmc kernel module, so I am not sure if this is configurable or not.
