[Bug 1740300] [NEW] openstack-dashboard depends "apache2 | httpd" but uses a script on postinst not provided by all providers of httpd

2017-12-27 Thread Brandon Whaley
Public bug reported:

In the postinst script for openstack-dashboard, the script
"/usr/share/apache2/apache2-maintscript-helper" is sourced with no
checks to confirm it is there, resulting in an installation failure. I
am using nginx as my web server, which the current requirements of
"apache2 | httpd" for openstack-dashboard satisfies.

I don't know for sure whether updating the depends to remove httpd or
having the postinst script test for the existence of
/usr/share/apache2/apache2-maintscript-helper is the correct course of
action. I'd prefer a test and printed warning if unable to enable a
config for apache2.

The error:
  /var/lib/dpkg/info/openstack-dashboard.postinst: 42: .: Can't open
/usr/share/apache2/apache2-maintscript-helper

The relevant code:
  # apache 2.4
  . /usr/share/apache2/apache2-maintscript-helper
  apache2_invoke enconf $CONF || exit $?

[Bug 862813] Re: Power Managment settings are being ignored

I can confirm that after changing settings to allow suspending then
changing back to no-suspend, the setting now persists. Resolved for me.

[Bug 863820] [NEW] Despite 'power' settings, system always suspends when idle

2011-09-30 Thread Brandon Whaley
Public bug reported:

In the 'power' section of system settings, I have both 'on battery
power' and 'when plugged in' set to 'don't suspend' and 'do nothing' for
the available options. In spite of this, the system will suspend when
left idle (I don't know the exact duration as it only seems to happen
when I sleep or go to work). The setting should be obeyed and is not.

This is for ubuntu 11.10, fully updated as of this morning. I believe
the correct package is 'gnome-power-manager'

I expect the settings to be obeyed. They are not.

2008-12-16 Thread Brandon Whaley
Having the exact same issue after installing a NetworkManager update
last night. NetworkManager process is at 60% usage, syslogd is using
all the rest up to 100%.

I also use iwl3945 for networking.

Solved by sudo killall -9 NetworkManager, then gksu NetworkManager

Happens every time I boot.

[Bug 181703] Re: Brasero does not recognize audio CD or blank CD-R

2008-11-15 Thread Brandon Whaley
I'm experiencing the issue in Intrepid 32bit. I was able to burn two
disks yesterday morning (the first two since Intrepid upgrade), however
yesterday evening and today, every blank disk inserted reports 0 bytes
available. The same disks burn fine in Rhythmbox on the same machine.
A reboot did not fix the issue, however after burning with Rhythmbox, I
was able to burn a cd with Brasero again. The next blank I inserted
also reported having free space available, however I do not have
anything else to burn. Is anyone else seeing similar behavior?
