[Bug 723282] Re: Building fails on postler-accounts.vala

I am getting the same error with vala 0.11.7:

../postler/postler-accounts.vala:69.44-69.44: error: Value must be

And right after it:

../postler/postler-cellrenderertoggle.vala:40.47-40.55: error: Argument

[Bug 428861] [NEW] evolution account wizard cannot be finished

2009-09-13 Thread Brendan Martens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When launching evolution for the first time on a fresh install of
karmic, the Evolution Setup Assistant brings you through all the
steps, but at the end it says Click Apply to save your settings.,
but there is no apply button, just cancel, back (grayed out), and
forward.

If I'm not mistaken the setup assistant is the only way to add a new
account with Evolution, so this makes evolution impossible to use on a
fresh install of karmic.

This is from the 20090912 daily alternate image, but I did upgrade all
my packages via apt once I got everything installed.

I am attaching a screenshot of the Evolution Assistant for reference.

I'm changing this to invalid I believe that is correct. I no longer
run Feisty which is the release I was in when I was getting this
problem. I've upgraded to Gutsy. In evolution 2.11.5 there are some
changes that should fix this problem (exchange folder scanning is
getting tuned), so I believe it's safe to close this as a fix is coming.

2007-06-22 Thread Brendan Martens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I use Evolution to acces my work's exchange server. Whenever I change my
password (required every 60 days) and forget to update evolution before
closing it, then the next time I open evolution it will pop up a request
for the exchange password, however in the background evolution is still
trying to scan the exchange folders and it get stuck. Basicly I have to
try to get the password in and press enter really fast before the
evolution processes get stuck.

2007-01-03 Thread Brendan Martens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gksu

When a gui app asks for my password, the screen darkens, as it should,
but then there is no visible password box for me to type my password
into. If I type it blind, and don't make any mistakes, it works.

For reference, I'm on Feisty, and I am using Beryl, with the nvidia beta
driver. If we think this is more of an issue with that... That's fine.
Let me know what info you need.

Goodness... There has been a lot of action on this bug since I posted
it. : ) I love our community!

To confirm, yes, I am on feisty, and it hardly seems like it matters
now... But my gnome-screensaver is version

gnome-screensaver:
  Installed: 2.17.4-0ubuntu1

Thanks for working on this... Pretty frustrating bug.

[Bug 76632] screen does not unlock after locking

2006-12-20 Thread Brendan Martens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

If I lock my screen, then try to unlock it, the dialog hangs at
checking password. I honestly have not waited around long enough to
see if it will eventually unlock. I have waited a few minutes, nothing
happens, just hangs, with the password filed grayed out, like it should
normally, and checking password, but it never unlocks as far as I can
tell.

This is different from any bugs I have found. The dialog appears
normally, and accepts my typing into the box, however as explained, it
inexplicably freezes. I have to kill the session and re-log.

I'd be happy to help figure this out, I just don't know how to proceed
to get more useful information.

[Bug 75768] gnome-keyring never stores passwords (only SMB?)

2006-12-14 Thread Brendan Martens
Public bug reported:

I believe this is in fact an error in gnome-keyring... : ( Anyways, when
I use nautilus to browse various network folders on our company network,
it never saves the domain/passwords that I tell it to. I wanted to start
a nautilus browser and track what it does in the terminal, but browser
detaches from the terminal at startup. : ( I'm not sure how I can get
more information, but I would love to if someone can point me in the
right direction.

Seems like this issue may only affect SMB related passwords.

I see that this issue has been opened under nautilus... I'll go ahead
and mark this as a duplicate. But I'm leaving it as this is more
appropriately opened under gnome-keyring rather than nautilus. I
also see there is a gnome bug about this. I'll link that, and the ubuntu
forums thread about this issue.

keyring

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370951

I'm happy to do anything necessary to help figure this out.

like the more appropriate package. : ( I was not sure if it mattered
which way the duplicates were created. I'll keep that in mind for future

I see on the bottom left that it says this was initially uploaded to
Feisty. This was supposed to be an Edgy bug. I don't know where I missed
that, and I also don't see how to fix it. Sorry for any confusion that
may have created.

[Bug 53360] Re: The package will not install.

I had tried that. But it didn't fix it.

I don't know what the issue was, but the offending config file finally
seems to have removed itself. I coudln't get it to go away before.

Either way, I just decided to try it again and it worked this time.

Thanks for your attention. You can close this bug.

[Bug 53360] Re: The package will not install.

2006-07-19 Thread Brendan Martens
Not a fresh install of Dapper, I have been running this install for
several months. But no, this system was not at one point a pure Debian
system.

I think that I have the openssh-client installed Yes I do. The
client was on first. The server never seemed to want to install. I don't
know why. In general I don't think I've screwed with this too much.

Anyways, anything I can do to help, I am happy to.
