[Bug 1943177] [NEW] Ubiquity Running Live from ISO Made from Installed System Crashes

2021-09-09 Thread C4C
Public bug reported:

Made an ISO from a Hard Disk Installed System following the instructions here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MakeALiveCD/DVD/BootableFlashFromHarddiskInstall
The ISO boots (several different computers) from both DVD and USB flash drives
and runs Live but Ubiquity crashes while or soon after filling out the form for
Name, Username, Computer Name and Password.
1) The release of Ubuntu I am using, via 'lsb_release -rd'
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS
Release: 20.04
2) The version of the package I am using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname'
ubiquity:
  Installed: 20.04.15.17
  Candidate: 20.04.15.17
  Version table:
 *** 20.04.15.17 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal-updates/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 20.04.15 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages
3) What you expected to happen
I expected the system would install to the Hard Disk
4) What happened instead
A dialogue box popped-up that said, "The Installer Crashed. The Installer
Crashed. We’re sorry; the installer crashed. After you close this window, we’ll
allow you to file a bug report using the integrated bug reporting tool..."

[Bug 1316250] Re: firefox adress bar black on pentium processor with integrated graphics

2014-05-09 Thread C4C
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1314924 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314924

To fix in Firefox 29:
type about:config[Enter]
Promise to be careful
In the Search Bar type gfx.xrender.enabled
Right-click (F12) and Toggle to make it false
Exit Firefox. Open Firefox again.

Whew! I like the new look of Firefox 29, but this had spoiled it in a Dell
Dimension 2400, Dell OptiPlex GX520 and HP d220 MT. It would have been a
show-stopper if it had not been for the suggestion by Benoit Jacob [:bjacob]
